Objectives: This report of three cases illustrates the potential effect of chuna therapy and myofascial release technique on back pain and curve regression in the at-risk, skeletally immature patient with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: The correction program for scoliosis takes 3 month per case. Chuna Therapy and MRT were given once a week and other oriental medicine care was given twice a week to care the complications of scoliosis. The Cobb's angle(by X-ray, Full spine view) and Visual analogue scale(VAS) were evaluated before and after the treatments. Results: After the program, both of Cobb's angle and VAS decreased. Conclusion: Though it is a case report, we found Chuna Therapy and MRT might have valid effect on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients. Further rigorous case series and controlled trials are warranted.

Symptoms of Psychosomatic disease are various. Mamok(麻木), one of that symptoms, is a kind of sensory disorder and similar to numbness but more complicated. In this report, we described two men diagnosed as psychosomatic disease and undifferentiated somatoform disorder. One complained Mamok of his tongue and the other complained it of his right arm and leg. And both of their symptoms were disappeared quickly after treated by Hwa-acupuncture.

Dementia is a syndrome characterized by a decline in multiple fields of cognitive domains. One of etiology of dementia is cerebrovascular disease. This is a case of multi-infarct dementia(MID) patient with functional mental disorders. The patient was treated with scalp acupuncture. After treatment, improvement was seen in cognitive domains.

Objective : This study has been designed and performed to identify the effect on insomnia patients according to the injection of herbal medicine induced from the Hominis placenta. Methods : Injection on G20(風池), G20(池) in insomnia patients who were admitted in Dong-Seo Oriental Medical Hospital every day for 5days, without western medicine. Results: Total duration of sleeping time showed 0.68 hours of increased. (p<0.005 respectively)

This is a clinical report of a ptosis patient diagnosed as oculomotor palsy. A 47-year-old man with ptosis, diplopia, anorexia, dyspepsia, general weakness was admitted at Wonkwang Oriental Medicine Hospital. He was treated with the herbal medicine Bojungikgi-Tang and with acupunture. Results showed improvement of symptoms and total body conditions. The process used in this sucessful treatment is here described.

Object : These studies are designed to make a survey of the effectiveness of the non surgical oriental medicine treatment with Chuna on spinal stenosis of lumbar spine. Methods : The clinical study was done on 118 cases of patients with spinal stenosis of lumbar spine diagnosed by M.R.I, symptoms and physical test who was in the admission in Ja-Seng Oriental Medcine Hospital from October 2006 to October 2008. after treatment we checked VNRS score to estimate the efficacy of treatment. Results : 1. As a Objectivity treatment record, they test excellent 17%, good 69%, fair 8%, poor 6%. 2. The mean NRS score decreased about 3.26 after the treatment. Conclusions : Non surgical oriental medicine treatment with Chuna has on useful effect on spinal stenosis of lumbar spine.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the patients with radial nerve palsy, who inproved by oriental medical treatment Methods & Results : The patients were hospitalized Dept. of Acupunture & Moxibustion, College of Oriental Medicine, Daejeon University from 1st, Mar. 2005 to 31th. Aug. 2005, and treated with Acupuncture and Electrical Stimulation theraphy, Herbal medication, Oriental physical therapy. To evaluate the wrist drop and numbness of fingers, Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and the measurement of wrist circumstance are used. As the result, symptoms are improved remarkably Conclusion : Patients were treated for 4.1 weeks(average). 6 cases were excellent and 1 case was good.

Objectives and Methods : Chronic pancreatitis is an inflammative disease characterized by both persistent and irreversible progression of pancreatic lesions that accompanies complications and pain which hinders everyday life activities. As the alcohol consuming population increases, chronic pancreatitis is increasing consequently. We retrospectively analyzed the medical record of a chronic pancreatitis patient who had been treated with oriental herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion for 40 days. He complained of anorexia, fatigue, indigestion, weight loss, constipation, abdominal discomfort and pain. We prescribed him Daekumeumja, Bojungikgi-tang and other oriental herbal medicines in order to cure these symptoms. Results and Conclusion : For 40 days he was treated with oriental medicine and the symptoms mostly disappeared. When it comes to the therapeutic effects, it could be suggested that oriental medicine has significant effects on improving symptoms and qualities of lives.

Hemoptysis is a common clinical symptom responsible for about 10% of the patients who has the pulmonary disease. In Korea, pulmonary tuberculosis is still the most common cause of the hemoptysis. This study is a chlinical report of Korean Traditional Medical Therapy for the patient of hemopysis with old pulmonary tuberculosis. The patient was suffering from hemoptysis, headache, sweating, feeling of uneasiness and fatigue. After administration of herbal medicines (Bokryungbosim-tang, Yukmijihwangwon-gagambang) and acupunture treatment for 34days, these symptoms of the patient were improved. Thus, we concluded that Oriental Medical Treatment can improve the symptoms of the patient who is suffering from hemoptysis.

Coughing and sputum are symptoms of sequela of Pneumonia. Oriental medicine call it Hae suo Hae su is common sign of lung disease. Hominis Placenta is the dried placenta of a healthy women. The nature of Hominis Placenta is warm and its taste sweet-salty. It has correspondence to the meridians of lung and kindey. Hominis Placenta acupuncture therapy has effect on invigoration of vital energy nourishing blood and tonifying the essence. It can be applied to the disease as Asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, degenerative change and cerebrovascular disease. We treated two cases coughing and sputum sign Sequela of Pneumonia by Hominis Placenta Aqua-Acupuncture. The symptoms was improved and the patients satisfied.
