The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the organizational characteristic and workers characteristics of Family Business Organization on its Business Performance. The subjects of this study were workers of healthy family support centers and multicultural family support centers. A survey was conducted from July 30th to September 30th. A total 372 materials were used for analysis of final data and SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) WIN 18.0 program was employed in analyzing the collected data. As the result of analysing the effect of organizational characteristics and culture and characteristics of workers on business performance through hierarchical regression analysis, higher performance was achieved when the agency's organizational culture has the characteristics of a developed culture, and when the operating body is a school principal corporation rather than a non-profit corporation, and in the city rather than farming town, having enough information and external resources at the center, and when the job satisfaction of workers are high, and when organizational culture is more hierarchical. There were difference in the result of analysing the effect of organizational characteristic and culture and characteristic of workers on business performance. The level of service and business value of Family Service Organization was higher when the agency's organizational culture has the characteristics of a developed culture, hierarchical culture and agreement culture, and when operating body is a school principal corporation rather than a non-profit corporation, having enough information and external resources at the center, and the administrative skills of workers are higher. Business volume is increased when the operating body is a school principal corporation rather than a non-profit corporation, and in the city rather than farming town, and when the agency's organizational culture has the characteristics of hierarchical culture and agreement culture, having enough external resources at the center, and the practicing ability of workers are higher. When it comes to business efficiency, it is increased when the agency's organizational culture has the characteristics of developed culture and the job satisfaction of workers are high, having enough external and financial resources at the center. Therefore we will need to enhance business performance through improved management and job satisfaction of employees in organizational culture.
The purpose of this study was to the impact of organizational culture on the organizational effectiveness in hospitals were empirically analysed. Data were collected by 151 social workers including general hospitals with one social worker at least and single-department hospital with two social workers or more, were identified nationwide through the registry of Korean Association of Medical Social Workers and Korean Association of Hospitals. The results of this study were summarized as follows; First, most social workers report that characteristic of culture in their hospitals are group culture the first, hierarchial culture the second, rational culture the third, and developmental culture finally in order of social worker's recognition. Second, according to the types of organizational culture, there were significantly different levels of organizational effectiveness. Social worker's perceived group cultures in hospital showed higher job satisfaction, organizational commitment than other culture patterns. And also, social worker's perceived developmental cultures in hospital showed higher organizational commitment quality of social service than other culture patterns. Third, multiple regression analysis was conducted to find the relationship of organizational culture and organizational effectiveness. As a result, developmental culture showed a strong relationship with job satisfaction, organizational commitment and quality of social services Finally, as for the cultural affects on the organizational effectiveness depended on intensive attention to developmental culture in hospital Consolidating the attribute of developmental culture in hospital is also proposed to improve the organizational cultures.
Today's health care environment is rapidly changing and nurse administrators' transformational leadership needs to practice in nursing organization to achieve organizational objectives. Transformational leadership is related to the job satisfaction, productivity, and organizational commitment. This study investigated the effect of transformational leadership and carreer characterics on nurses' organizational commitment. The sample for this study consisted of 594 nurse from 8 large Korean hospitals. The factor analysis Cronbach's alpha analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were used for the statistical method. The results of this study were found that (1) charisma dimension of transformational leadership has positive influence on nurses' organizational commitment; but another two dimensions (intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration) did not showed significant effect on organizational commitment (2) nurses' career characteristic(age, marital status, education level. work duration, status) moderated the effect of transformational leadership on organizational commitment.
This study is intended to identify how the organizational factors of hotel employees influence their job satisfaction and organizational commitment by the type of employment. Samples used for data analysis are 452 workers working for hotel companies including 276 regular employees and 176 non-regular employees. The results are as follows: first, the job satisfaction of regular employees is generally higher than that of non-regular employees. Second, the degree of affective and continuous commitment showed significant difference by the type of employment, but normative commitment did not. Third, according to the result of how job satisfaction influences organizational commitment, the job satisfaction of non-regular employees alone is not affected by the relationship of senior officers and coworkers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to confirm the change of nursing organizational characteristics and to define the difference of organizational outcome by measuring the organizational commitment and job satisfaction perceived by nursing staffs and patient satisfaction before and after organizational redesign. Method: The structured questionnaires of which contained organizational characteristics, organizational commitment and job satisfaction were developed from previous published studies after modification by researcher. The questionnaires were distributed to 1,200 and 679 nurses before and after nursing organizational change. patient satisfaction were measured before and after organizational change by direct interview with structured questionnaire from 1,566 and 1,291 patients. Results: 1. The organizational characteristics were significantly increased and the leadership of team leader and head nurse was significantly increased among the factors of organizational characteristics. 2. Organizational commitment was showed decreased tendency, but the difference was not significant. Job satisfaction was increased significantly and administration, autonomy, and job tasks were increased significantly in the factors of job satisfaction. Patient satisfaction was also increased significantly. 3. There was significant positive correlation between organizational commitment and job satisfaction and also job satisfaction and nursing organizational characteristics. All factors of organizational characteristics and satisfaction in present working unit were major factors to influence organizational commitment and explained 43.8% in a significant level by multiple regression analysis. The major factor which affect job satisfaction were the factors of nursing organizational characteristic except 'interaction with team leader' and satisfaction in present working unit among general characteristics and these factors explained 58.8% of job satisfaction. Conclusion: In conclusion, the nursing organizational change was very effective to bring about desirable change in nursing organizational characteristics and also to improve job satisfaction and patient satisfaction. Therefore the nursing productivity and comparability would be increased when the nursing organizational change is accomplished by the way of improving the factors of organizational characteristics and it would be followed by the promotion of job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the problems and relevant variables for effective Organizational Socialization of new nurses, to produce a causal map, to build up a simulation model and to test its validity. Method: The basic data was collected from Sep. 2002 to July 2003. The Organizational Socialization process of new nurses was analyzed through a model simulation. The VENSIM 5.0b DSS program was used to develop the study model. Result: This Model shows interrelation of these result variables: organizational commitment, job satisfaction, job performance, intention of leaving the work setting, decision making ability, and general results of Organizational Socialization. The model's factors are characteristic of organization and individual values, task-related knowledge and skills, and emotion and communication that affects new nurses' socialization process. These elements go through processes of anticipatory socialization, encounter, change and acquisition. The Model was devised to induce effective Organizational Socialization results within 24 months of its implementation. The basic model is the most efficient and will also contribute to the development of knowledge in the body of nursing. Conclusion: This study will provide proper direction for new Nurse's Organizational Socialization. Therefore, developing an Organizational Socialization Process Model is meaningful in a sense that it could provide a framework that could create effective Organizational Socialization for new nurses.
This study was done to Identify the relationship between the organiaational characteristrics of hospital nursing and job satisfaction. The factors used for the organizational characteristics of hospital nursing were leadership of the head nurse, leadership of supervisor and others in higher authority positions with supervisors and organizational climate. The subjects consisted of 243 staff nurses from seven general hospitals in Seoul. The data was collected from August 1. to August 31. 1991. The tools used for measurement in this study were Park and Yoon's scale of the Perception of Organizational Characteristics and Stamp' Scale of the Job Satisfaction. The results are summarized as follows ; 1. There were significant differences between for the three nursing units organizational characteristic factors, leadership of supervisors, other higher authorities, interaction with supervisors and organizational climate and job satisfaction(p<0.05) 2. There was a correlation between organizational chatacteristics of hospital nursing and job satisfaction. (r=0.32-0.65) 3. The factor explaining the highest proportion of variance was interaction with supervisor. (39.8%) In conclusion, there was significant correlation between of the organizational characteristics hospital nursing and Job satisfaction. And there were significant differences in the organizational characteristics of hospital nursing and job satisfaction for different nursing units.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction. Subjects were 362 nurses at a general hospital in Seoul. Data were collected from November 1, 1999 to November 31, 1999 with the structured questionnaires and analyzed by $SPSS-PC^+$ 8.0 for descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows; 1. The average score of the nursing organizational characteristics was 3.7. The score of head nurse's leadership was highest and supervisor's was lowest. The average score of the job satisfaction was 3.1 and was similar to the results of other studies. 2. Being regarded to the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction by general demographic variables, The head nurse's leadership, the supervisor's leadership and interaction, and the overall nursing organizational characteristics showed significant differences by year of career, position status, and service-department(p<.1, p<.05). The job satisfaction showed significant difference by position status(p<.01). 3. There were correlations between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction(r=0.358-0.815). 4. The most important variable in the job satisfaction was 'organizational climate' and it was explained 32.0% out of the total variance of job satisfaction and 'all of nursing organizational characteristic factors' explained 47.5%. According to the results of this study, the suggestions were as follow: 1. To improve nurses' job satisfaction, the strategy for the development of the cooperative nursing organizational climate and for the strengthening of 'the nursing manager's leadership and interaction' in the nursing department are necessary. It should to be considered the differences in the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction by nursing manager and staff nurses. 2. Further study needed to analysis the organizational climate for the management of the nursing organization. Also it is necessary for further investigation regarding to the relationship between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction of pre and post-organizational change.
