A Study on the Location and Spatial Organization in YeonSan DonAm SeoWon (연산(連山) 돈암서원(遯岩書院)의 입지(立地)와 공간구성(空間構成)에 관한 연구)

  • This paper aims to discussion the characteristics of location and spatial organization on the Donam SeoWon(confucian academy). To do this, we studied in analysis of the present conditions and photographing, research materials about the from of physical structure and review of historical documents. The result of analysis in the sight of the location and spatial organization was good matched. The spatial organization of the Donam SeoWon(confucian academy) was divided into entry space, lecturing space, management space and sacrificial space. Jonhakhumyo constructs axis of “Sanangru - Ipdeokmun - Yangseongdang - Naesammun - Sungryesa” and Eungdodang that not removed hall with 1880 shows characteristics a right angle in the left side of axis remove to location of present 1971. The result of this study, analysis of axis and Spatial structure shows backgrounds of these locations shows that the political and social, economical phenomena were influenced to the locations and spatial organization of the Donam SeoWon(confucian academy).

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the necessity of organizing an exclusive unit to perform the division Engineering Reconnaissance, and how to organize exclusive unit. To this end, first, it was analyzed whether exclusive unit organization was necessary by using organization-conditions and AHP. Next, through ARENA model simulation and task-analysis, it was determined how many people would be organized, and how the class structure would be appropriate. As a result, first, it is reasonable to organize the Engineering Reconnaissance unit as an exclusive unit, and the best way is to organize all-time(war/peace time). Second, the exclusive unit should be organized into a total of 10 persons(2~3 cadres, 7~8 soldiers). We hope that the research will contribute to the rational procedure of our military unit structure organization and set the standards for applying the quantitative methodology.

  • Even though there have been so much practical interests in industry, the relevant empirical researches are not sufficient. In this study, we try to identify the problems of matrix organization structure in the semiconductor industry and make suggestions for improvements. Also, we try to find out whether there are differences in the perceptions of the problems among ranks and teams. This study was conducted to the researchers in the matrix organization structure of the H-corp. research institute. The problems we found are as follows. The researchers agreed that the matrix organization structure is appropriate when highly professional members for the development of next-generation semiconductors are participated in the projects. They showed strong wills to participate and succeed in projects. However, the researchers felt that the equipments and manpowers were not enough and too much tasks and workloads were assigned to both the managers and members Also, in an open ended question, the researchers pointed out the problems of the matrix organization structure such as 'weak project manager's authority', 'communication and teamwork issues', 'non-obvious work priorities', 'compensation and benefit system', 'lack of research manpower and equipment'. From the strengths and weaknesses of the matrix organization structure of the semiconductor industry, we provide some suggestions for improvements.

Information Security of Organization and Employees in Social Exchange Perspective : Using Structure-Conduct-Outcome Framework (SCO Framework을 적용한 조직과 조직원의 정보보안 준수 관계 연구)

  • Purpose Issues related to information security have been a crucial topic of interest to researchers and practitioners in the IT/IS field. This study develops a research model based on a Structure-Conduct-Outcome (SCO) framework for the social exchange relationship between employees and organizations regarding information security. Design/methodology/approach In applying an SCO framework to information security, structure and conduct are activities imposed on employees within an organizational context; outcomes are activities that protect information security from an employee. Data were collected from 438 employees working in manufacturing and service firms currently implementing an information security policy in South Korea. Structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22.0 is used to test the validation of the measurement model and the proposed casual relationships in the research model. Findings The results demonstrate support for the relationships between predicting variables in organization structure (security policy and physical security system) and the outcome variables in organization conduct (top management support, security education program, and security visibility). Results confirm that the three variables in organization conduct had a positive effect on individual outcome (security knowledge and compliance intention).

  • Korea companies have been faced with the demand of environmental changes abroad by suffering Economic Crisis at 1997. In fact, these demand that modern firms are in the keen struggles for existence is the essential condition though of the age of Economic Crisis. Coping with these situation. these companies are making desperate efforts, which are reorganization, renovation, improvement, however, the procedure or the result about these efforts of change have to be checked wisely. That is, the firms have to meet requirement that could enhance their values because organization structure that is not efficient to growth of firms produces a quite contrary result. Such phenomenon is applicable to construction firm as well as limited with partial companies. Therefore, before forming a efficient organization structure, comparing and analyzing the strategy or financial statement according to construction firm, this study will try to grasp a characteristic of organization.

  • This study is to analyze the tea organization introduced lately to many university and college libraries in Korea. First, it investigates the background many libraries in Korea have introduced or consider to introduce the organization. And then it reanalyzes the concept, characteristics, and types of the team organization with a special regard to libraries. Finally, it investigates the current status of the organization in Korean university and college libraries based on some selected examples, and suggests some major anticipated problems and obstacles and possible actions to cope with them.

A Study of Trajectory Mapping Method as a User Interface Design Tool for Mobile Devices (모바일 기기의 사용자 인터페이스 설계 도구로서 Trajectory Mapping 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In mobile device's user interface, menu organization is very important as well as menu structure because small display of mobile device. Menu items should be organized based on user knowledge structure to design user-centered interface. Traditionally, MDS (Multidimensional Scaling) have been most often used to expose users' perceived organization of menu items. But, information that MDS reveals is just relative spatial location of concepts and not relevant to concepts connection. Unlike MDS, Trajectory Mapping explicitly finds users' cognitive links between perceived concepts. This study proposes a Trajectory Mapping technique for eliciting knowledge structure, especially a set of cognitive pathways linking menu items, from end user. With twelve participants, MDS and Trajectory Mapping were conducted using cellular phone's menu items. And user knowledge structure was analyzed through Visual Concept Map that combination of results of MDS and Trajectory Mapping. After then, menu items were organized according to users' perceived organization. Empirical usability test was also conducted. The results of usability test showed that usability, in terms of task performance time, number of errors, and satisfaction, for newly organized interface was significantly improved compare to original interface. The methodology of this study is expected to be applicable to design a user-centered interface. In other words, Trajectory Mapping technique can be used as a design tool of user interface for imposing user knowledge structure on the interface.

A Study on the Typology of Spatial Organization in Art Museum (공간구성에 따른 뮤지엄 유형에 관한 연구)

  • This study plans to classify the art museums in accordance with their spatial organization, analyzing their peculiarities each by its type in order to present the reference required for designing an art museums. With confidence, the analyzation as well as the results of the study contents will make worthy contribution for the future art museums. For this purpose, total of 95 art museums have been selected as the objects of analyzation. First of all, their types have been categorized in accordance with the standard of scale and architectural planning. Out of them, 33 museums have been further selected in order to see how the peculiarities of their patterns are outstanding, and then a quantitative analyzation has been made on each of them to see its space structure by utilizing 'Space Syntax'. Finally, a correlation analyzation of space structure peculiarities has been conducted and the spatial organization peculiarities per type is comprehensively arranged in accordance with the architectural planning and Space Syntax in order to present a new spatial organization per space to be used for the basic planning of the art museum. The contents of this analytical study are summarized as follows: A correlation analyzation on the typological features in terms of architectural planning and on the spatial organization features in terms of the Space Syntax has presented four new types of museum spaces: (1) Radial type, (2) Arachnoid-radial type, (3) Linear type, and (4) Grid type, in the light of which the selected 95 art museums have further been analyzed in order for their features to be reclassified.

  • Nursing, a profession, continues its efforts founard professionalization. Attention to efficiency and effectiveness of its organizational system must be balances with that of maintaining quality of care. The wise use of personnel is of particular concern. The structure of nursing's administrative organization is very important, because most nursing services are delivered through an organization. Professional bureaucracy is recommended for the structure and managerial strategy of nursing's administrative organization, Specifically, considerable decision -making in their work should be transferred to the staff nurses who provicle professional nursing services in direct interaction with the public. The co -ordinative parameters of the system should be based on professional nursing knowledge. The premise required by this commitment would be built on the identification of nursing knowledge and intellectual and behavioral standard of nursing practice.

  • I have done a case study on organization level based-organizational behavior textbooks published in Korea and USA. The objects are 'organizational behavior' by Su Yong Jung and 'organizational behavior' by Im Chang Hee in Korea, and 'organizational behavior' by Schermerhorn, Osborn, Uhl-Bien, & Hunt and 'organizational behavior' by Robbins, & Judge. The goal of this study is to identify the differences of the perspectives on the organization level based-organizational behavior between Korean and American textbooks. This research finding shows that it is valid to classify organizational behavior into such categories as organizational structure, organizational culture, and organizational change in the Korean textbooks for the better future study.
