Differential Rapid Screening of Phytochemicals by Leaf Spray Mass Spectrometry

  • Ambient ionization can be achieved by generating an electrospray directly from plant tissue ("leaf spray"). The resulting mass spectra are characteristic of ionizable phytochemicals in the plant material. By subtracting the leaf spray spectra recorded from the petals of two hibiscus species H. moscheutos and H. syriacus one gains rapid access to the metabolites that differ most in the two petals. One such compound was identified as the sambubioside of quercitin (or delphinidin) while others are known flavones. Major interest centered on a $C_{19}H_{29}NO_5$ compound that occurs only in the large H. moscheutos bloom. Attempts were made to characterize this compound by mass spectrometry alone as a test of such an approach. This showed that the compound is an alkaloid, assigned to the polyhydroxylated pyrrolidine class, and bound via a $C_3$ hydrocarbon unit to a monoterpene.

Corrosion Protection from Inhibitors and Inhibitor Combinations Delivered by Synthetic Ion Exchange Compound Pigments in Organic Coatings

  • Inorganic ion exchange compounds (IECs) including hydrotalcites and bentonite clays are a well known classes of layered mixed metal hydroxides or silicates that demonstrate ion exchange properties. These compounds have a range of applications from water purification to catalyst supports. The use of synthetic versions of these compounds as environmentally friendly additives to paints for storage and release of inhibitors is a new and emerging application. In this paper, the general concept of storage and release of inhibiting ions from IEC-based particulate pigments added to organic coatings is presented. The unique aspects of the IEC structure and the ion exchange phenomenon that form the basis of the storage and release characteristic are illustrated in two examples comprising an anion exchanging hydrotalcite compound and a cation exchanging bentonite compound. Examples of the levels of corrosion protection imparted by use of these types of pigments in organic coatings applied to aluminum alloy substrates is shown. How corrosion inhibition translates to corrosion protection during accelerated exposure testing by organic coatings containing these compounds is also presented.

$MoH_2O_2(NCS)_3(C_5H_5N)_2$의 합성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Synthesis of $MoH_2O_2(NCS)_3(C_5H_5N)_2$)

  • A tri-thiocyanate molybdenum (Ⅴ) complex containing pyridine has been prepared by one step process; namely, the solvent extraction of molybdenum (Ⅴ)-thiocyanate complex into organic solvents followed by precipitation of the compound by addition of pyridine to the extract. It is concluded that the compound has a definite composition regardless of the various mole ratios of molybdenum to thiocyanate ion employed in the preparation. The use of hydrazine as the reducing agent eliminates the necessity of working under inert atmosphere and of further purification of the product. Molybdenum (Ⅴ)-thiocyanate (1:3) complex can be quantitatively and selectively extracted with slightly polar organic solvents such as ethyl acetate, and the pyridine complex is quantitatively obtained due to the insolubility of the compound in them. The oxidation state of molybdenum in the compound is + 5 and the formula appears to be $MoH_2O_2(NCS)_3Py_2$ from the contents of Mo and NCS in the compound. The solubility of the compound in various has been studied at $25^{\circ}C$.

인/실리콘 함유 난연성 에폭시 수지의 제조 및 물성 (Preparation and Properties of Flame Retardant Epoxy Resins Containing Phosphorous/Silicone Components)

  • 영구적 난연성기를 함유한 에폭시 수지를 얻기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 디하이드록시를 함유한 인 화합물[10-(2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phospha phenanthrene-10-oxide, DOPO-HQ]과 디하이드록시를 함유한 실리콘 화합물(polydimethylsiloxane, hydroxyl terminated, PDMS)를 경화하지 않은 에폭시 프리폴리머(diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A, DGEBA)와 반응시킨 다음, 경화제(4,4-diaminodiphenylmethane, DDM)를 사용하여 경화반응 시킨 에폭시 수지를 제조하였다. 제조된 에폭시 수지의 각종 특성을 적외선 분광분석기(FTIR), 시차주사열량기(DSC), 열중량 분석기(TGA), 한계산소지수(LOI)/수직 연소 시험(UL 94-V test), 인장 및 충격 시험을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그리고 사용한 인 및 실리콘 화합물의 함량이 에폭시 경화물의 열적/기계적 성질 및 난연성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 인 및 실리콘 성분이 함유된 에폭시 수지의 열적 및 기계적 물성이 단순 에폭시 수지의 물성에 비교하여 크게 향상되었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 인 및 실리콘을 함유한 모든 에폭시 수지는 29.9 ~ 31.8%의 LOI 및 V-0 수준의 UL 94-V로 난연성 기준(LOI: 30% 이상, UL 94-V: V-0)을 통과한 반면, 단순 에폭시 수지는 LOI: 21.4% 및 UL 94-V: no rating으로 난연성 기준에 크게 못 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this work, we report the effect on the volatole organic compounds(VOCs) sensing properties of Copper phthalocyanine(CoPc) and Dilithium phthalocyanine(DiLiPc) thin films onto alumina substrates. Use evaporation method and the spin-coated method for sensing device. The materials of metallophthalocyanine macrocyclic compound solutions blended with N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1-naphthyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4"-diamine and/or Poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] solutions. The influence of the blended in with metallophthalocyanine macrocyclic compounds on the resistance have been measured and analyzed in five different volatole organic compounds. The following results were obtained: The AFM 3D image of thin films deposited on metallophthalocyanine macrocyclic compound shows that the surfaces roughness were about CuPc 4.1~14.3 nm(7.5~8.1%), DiLiPc 10.3~22.2 nm(7.9~11.5%). The resistances decreases upon increasing the concentration of vapor organic compounds to CuPc and DiLiPc thin films. That thin films blended Copper phthalocyanine(CoPc) and Dilithium phthalocyanine(DiLiPc) with N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1-naphthyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4"-diamine and/or Poly[2-methoxy--5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene]. The resistances of blended thin films with N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1-naphthyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4"-diamine and/or Poly[2-methoxy--5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] decreases upon increasing the concentration of volatole organic compounds(VOCs) on DiLiPc than CuPc compound thin films.

광화학 반응을 이용한 고도 수처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on Water Advanced Water Treatment by Photochemical Reaction)

  • The Photodegradation efficient of total organic compounds in the drinking water has been studied using the methods of photocatalytic reaction and laser beam irradation. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The photodegradation efficiency of total organic compounds shows as $50\%\;to\;80\%$ as within one hour and after this the efficiency is decreased slowly. 2. The photodegradation efficiency of total organic compounds shows as 65 to $90\%$ within 3.3min. when Nd : YAG beam is irradiated to the water layer. 3. An excellent observation of the organic compound removal efficiency gives revealed in that case of the longest wavelength of 532nm is irradiated among the three kinds of laser beam sources of 532nm, 355nm and 266nm. 4. The organic compound removal efficiency shows high in the case of UV beam irradiation in the thin layer of water. However the efficiency is not depended on the thickness of water layer severely. 5. The removal efficiency of the organic compounds in the direct irradiation shows higher than the indirect irradiation in the case of UV beam, but the efficiency is not depended on the direction of irradiation in the case of Nd : YAG beam irradiation.

산지초지에 의한 유기질복합비료의 시용에 관한 연구 I. 유기질 복합비료의 시용이 혼파목초의 건물수량과 식생변화에 미치는 영향 (Studies on Application of Organic-Compound Fertilizer on Hilly Mixed Sward I. Effect of organic-compound fertilizer application on dry matter yield and botanical composition of grass-clover mixtures)

  • 山地초지에 고토와 함유된 有機質複合비료의 施用이 목장의 건물수량, 수량구성요소 및 식생변화에 마치는 影響을 究明코자 비종과 시비수준을 달리한 5處理를 亂塊法 3反復으로 團場配置하여 1984年 9月부터 1986年 10月까지 水原 근교의 신 개척지에서 本 試餘을 수행하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 목장의 耐冬性, 生育勢 및 被覆率 等 初期生 育狀態는 有機質複함포료 施用區가 단비시용에 比해 良好하였다. 2. 2年평균 목장의 乾物收量은 시비水準間에는 有意差있는 增收했果가 있었으며, 少肥施用水準에서 단비구의 乾物수량 7,930.6kg/ha에 比해 有機質 複合비료 施用區는 8,693.1kg/ha로서10%, 普肥施 用水準에서는 單肥區의 11,122.6kg/ha에 比해 有機 質複合肥料 施用區는 12,758.7kg/ha를 生産하여 15% 회수되었으나 有意性은 없었다. 3. 植牛別 건물수량은 未本科 救草의 경우 施肥量이 많아짐에 따라 有意差있게 증가하였으며 (P<0.01), 荳科救草의 收量은 無肥區는 施肥區(少肥, 普肥)에 比해 顧著히 회수되었으나(P< 0.01), 少肥와 普肥施用水準 問에는 有意性이 없었다. 한편 肥種問에서는 有機質複合肥料 施用區가 單肥에 比해 未本科 목초는 8-14%, 荳科는 26-29% 增收되었으나 有意性은 없었다. 4.. 植生構成比率은 草地管理時에 施肥 하지 않은 곳은 荳科의 優古現象이 나타났으나, 3要素 施用區는 植生比率 및 목초율이 적합하였으며, 유기質複合비료 施用區의 荳科比率은 單肥施用區에 比해 漸次 增加되는 碩向이였다. 5. 試嚴後 士壞의 化學成分은 試餘前에比해 顯 著히 높아졌으나 施肥水準을 平均하여 볼때 有機質 複合nE料 施用區는 單肥에 比해 有機物과 有郊憐嚴含量은 높았고, pH 및 置換性 醒基는 若千 낮은 碩向이었다.

편백나무 목분을 첨가한 합성목재 패널의 제조 및 특성 평가 (Preparation and Characterizations of Wood Plastic Composite Panel Fabricated with Chamaecyparis obtusa Wood Flour)

  • 데크재, 산책로 등 옥외용도로 대부분 사용되고 있는 합성목재(Wood Plastic Compound;WPC)를 실내 용도의 건축용 내장재로 사용하기 위하여, 항균성, 총 휘발성 유기화합물 배출량(TVOC), 난연성 등이 개선된 WPC 패널을 제조하였다. 고밀도 폴리에틸렌(HDPE)과 편백나무 목분(Chamacyparis obtusa wood flour), 항균제 및 난연제 등의 첨가제를 혼합한 후 압출 성형하여 합성목재(Wood Plastic Composite) 컴파운드 펠렛을 제조하였다. 이 WPC 컴파운드 펠렛을 이축압출기를 사용하여 제조한 합성목재 패널(303mm×606mm×10mm)은 우수한 항균 및 항진균 특성을 나타냈다. 또한 패널의 총 휘발성 유기화합물 배출량(TVOC)은 0.062mg/m2·h 였으며, KS F 2271의 난연성 2등급 표준을 달성하였다.

Synthesis and Evaluation of Benzoquinolinone Derivatives as SARS-CoV 3CL Protease Inhibitors

  • For the discovery of new antivirals against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-coronavirus (SARS-CoV), we prepared and evaluated several benzoquinoline compounds as its 3C-like protease (3CLpro) inhibitors. Based on the computer modeling study that each of the two rigid benzoquinolinone and N-phenoltetrazole moieties of the compound 1 is bound to the S1 and S2 sites, respectively, of the SARS protease by forming H-bonds and hydrophobic interactions, we designed and synthesized alkylated benzoquinolines at both the sites of the hydroxyl groups. We found that the compound 2a showed five times higher inhibiting activity against the 3CLpro compared to the compound 1.
