Effect of Thermal Heat Treatment on the Characteristics of Vertical Type Organic Thin Film Transistor Using Alq3 as Active Layer and Its Application for OLET

  • We have fabricated vertical type organic thin film transistor using tris-8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum $(Alq_3)$. The effects of the growth control of $Alq_3$ thin layer on the grain structure and the flatness of film surface have been investigated. In addition, we have fabricated light emitting transistor and then investigated electroluminescent properties.

Effect of the Linkers Between 9,9-Dimethylfluorenyl Terminal Moiety and a-Cyanoacrylic Acid Anchor on the $\lambda_{max}$ of the UV Spectrum and the Energy Efficiency in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC)

  • Six metal-free organic dyes having thiophene (1), benzene-thiophene (2), thiophene-benzene (3), thiophene-pyridine(4), thiophene-thiophene (5), and pyridine (6) linkers between 9,9-dimethylfluorenyl terminal group and $\alpha$-cyanoacrylic acid anchor were synthesized. Among them, organic dye 5 showed the longest ${\lambda}}max$ value (424 nm) in UV-Vis absorption spectrum, better incident monochromatic photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE), highest short circuit photocurrent density (JSC, 9.33 mA2/cm2), and highest overall conversion efficiency ($\eta$, 3.91%).

  • The objective of this article is to examine the structure of the composition of the population in rural area for the last 45 years, and to forecast mid and long term structure of the population in the near future. Moreover, forecast has been done whether the rapid increase by the inflow of foreigners has any offset on the structural change in rural population. According to the research result, the rural area is experiencing a rapid decrease in population, a rapid increase in the percentage of the aged, and foreigners. To resolve the problematic situation mentioned above, some effective counterplan has to be considered by all agencies concerned.

  • This study probed into some characteristics of the urban household such as household income, number of the household, age distribution of the family members, their characteristics of shopping behavior such as the shopping place, types of the packaging and the characteristics of the time series, using consumer panel data of the Rural Development Administration (RDA). It further examined how the above factors affect fruit purchasing prices and then estimates the degree of the influence by each factor. The study looked at the purchase of apples, pears, tangerines, and oranges - the most favorite fruits in Korea. The results of this study can be utilized as the basic information for marketing strategies and/or for the establishment of future policy plans related to fruits consumption.

풋고추 품종별 가격 및 규모 신축성 분석 (An Analysis of the Price and Scale Flexibilities on Different Varieties of Green Pepper)

  • Three varieties of green pepper - Chungyang pepper, Cucumber-taste pepper and Nokgwang pepper - are competing with one another in consumption due to the overlapping shipment period. The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of monthly variations of shipment quantities on the wholesale market prices. A Linear Approximated Inverse Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/IAIDS) is employed with monthly data set of three different varieties of green pepper consumption. The results show that if there is an excess supply in the market, the rate of the price decline is larger for forcing culture Chungyang pepper than other pepper varieties. On the contrary, change in supply of cucumber-taste pepper and Nokgwang pepper has little effect on the price of Chungyang pepper. The results of this study can be utilized as a basic information for enhancing the farm income and promoting agricultural policies related to the establishment of self-help funds by Chungyang pepper producer groups in Gyeongnam region.

정공수송층이 역구조 OLED의 전기 및 광학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hole Transport Layer on the Electrical and Optical Characteristics of Inverted Organic Light-Emitting Diodes)

  • We have developed inverted green phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) using 1,1-bis[(di-4-tolylamino)phenyl]cyclohexane (TAPC) and bis(carbazole-9-yl)biphenyl (CBP) hole transport layers. The driving voltage, current efficiency, power efficiency, and emission characteristics of devices were investigated. While the driving voltage for the same current density was about 1~2 V lower in the devices with the TAPC layer, the maximum luminance was higher in the device with the CBP layer. The maximum current efficiency and power efficiency were 3.2 and 2.7 times higher in the device with the CBP layer, respectively. The higher efficiency in the CBP device resulted from the enhanced hole-electron balance although weak parasitic recombination takes place in the CBP hole transport layer.

Synthesis and Characterization of CdSe/graphene Nanocomposites and their Catalytic Reusability Studies under Visible Light Radiation

  • We examined the photo catalytic activity and catalytic recyclability of CdSe/graphene nanocomposites fabricated via modified hydrothermal technique. The prepared composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopic analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic behavior was investigated through decomposition of RBB as a standard dye under visible light radiation. Our results indicate that there is significant potential for graphene based semiconductor hybrids materials to be used as photocatalysts under visible light irradiation for the degradation of organic dyes from industry effluents.

The Effects of Oxygen Plasma and Cross-link Process on Quantum-dot Light Emitting Diodes

  • Red color light emitting diodes (LEDs) were fabricated using CdSe/CdZnS quantum dots (QDs). During the device fabrication process, oxygen plasma treatment on the ITO surface was performed to improve the interfacial contact between ITO anode and the hole injection layer. CdSe/CdZnS quantum dots were cross-linked to remove their surrounded organic surfactants. The device shows red emission at 622 nm, which is consistent with the dimension of the QDs (band gap=1.99 eV). The luminance shows 6026% improvement compared with that of LEDs fabricated without oxygen plasma treatment and quantum dots cross-linking process. This approach would be useful for the fabrication of high-performance QLEDs with ITO electrode and PEDOT:PSS hole injection layers.

The Matrix Effect of Biological Concomitant Element on the Signal Intensity of Ge, As, And Se in Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectrometry

  • The non-spectroscopic interference effects that occurred in inductively coupled plasma/mass spectrometry were studied for Ge, As and Se in human urine and serum. Many biological samples contain Na, K, Cl and organic compounds, which may cause the enhancement and depression on the analyte signal. The effect of 1% concomitant elements such as N, Cl, S, P, C, Na, and K on a 100 ㎍/L germanium, arsenic and selenium signal has been investigated by ICP/MS. The interference effects were not in the same direction. It appeared that concomitant elements such as Cl, S, and C induce an enhancement effect, whereas N and P did not show any significant effect. And, Na and K caused a depression. We have found a link between the abundance of analytes and the ionization potential of concomitant elements (eV), except carbon and nitrogen.
