  • The image quality of the color laser printer is highly related with the motion quality of actuators. However, the high precision system requires high production costs in general. The proposed design method in this paper improves image quality without increasing production costs. Using the synchronization method, time gap between exposure and transfer in organic photo conductive (OPC) drum and the period of driving gear revolution are synchronized. The proposed method is verified by computer simulations and experiment, and showed by printed images.

  • A fermentation system was supplemented with a device for the measurement of the durations of alkali pump feeding for automatic pH control and an A/D convertor for precise monitoring of pH value by computer. A software program was developed to measure buffer capacities from the pH signal and the pH control signal during fermentation. By measuring the buffer capacity on-line, levels of acetic acid were estimated by a software sensor using pH signal in a fermentation process of E.coli growing in a minimal medium. The measured values of acetic acid showed correlation to those of estimated by the software sensor. Lacitic acid production was also successfully estimated by the values of buffer capacities measured on-line.

  • This paper presents the experimental results in five months operation from a combined anaerobic/oxic system treating swine waste with average concentrations in organic matter and nitrogen of 7,930 mgCOD/L and 671 mgTKN/L, respectively. The system was formed using an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor and oxic reactor connected in series with a recycling line of oxic effluents to UASB for its denitrification. The UASB reactor was operated at an organic volumetric loading rate (VLR) of $2.1{\sim}4.5\;kgTCOD/m^3$/day and the removal efficiency of TCOD was $66.3{\sim}85.4%$. The overall removal efficiency of TCOD was more than 99%. The oxic reactor was operated at a nitrogen VLR of $0.10{\sim}0.20\;kgTKN/m^3$/day and the nitrification efficiency was 75%. However, the complete denitrification was observed in the UASB reactor that was due to the optimal temperature and sufficient carbon source. The overall removal rate of TN was about 80%. About 76.2% of the influent COD mass was accountable in a COD mass balance at a level of VLR $3.64\;kgCOD/m^3$/day. The production rate of methane was $0.32\;LCH_4/gCOD_{removed}$ when influent organics, VLR, were recorded by $3.4{\sim}4.5\;kgCOD/m^3$/day.

  • The rates of sediment oxygen demand(SOD) and denitrification(DNF) were measured using $^{15}N$ isotope pairing technique in intact sediment cores in the shelf of Dok Island. The SOD and DNF in the continental shelf of Dok Island were ranged from 1.04 to $9.08\;mmol\;m^{-2}\;d^{-1}$ and from 7.06 to $37.67\;{\mu}mol\;m^{-2}\;d^{-1}$, respectively. The SOD and DNF values in this study are higher than typical deep sea sediment. The SOD and DNF in this study were high in the high organic matter content sediment and high organic matter content was promotive of coupled nitrification-denitrification. Organic carbon contents in surface sediment ranged from 1.8 to 2.4%, which is higher than typical deep sea sediments. Therefore we conclude that the organic matter content in surface sediment is determined by the nature of the export production not the water depth in East sea sediment and the nature of the export production also determines remineralization processes such as SOD and DNF in East sea/Ulleung Basin sediment.

  • The System of Rice Intensification (SRI) has been spread very quickly in southern Cambodia. To understand the motivation of farmers in adapting SRI, and its benefits, we conducted an on-farm study at Popel commune, Tramkak district, Takeo province in southern Cambodia, during the 2012 and 2013 wet season. We noticed a significant difference between SRI and conventional farmers' practices (FP) in rainfed lowland rice ecosystem. Despite of low nitrogen input, without chemical fertilizers, high grain yield was achieved in SRI 1 (6.0 t ha) and SRI2-Bottom ($7.2t\;ha^{-1}$) in 2013. SRI 1 and SRI 2 of panicle and number of panicle were high than SR 3, FP 2, and FP 3 due to early transplant. Relationships between total number of spikelet and plant nitrogen were ($r^2=0.95$) highly positive at harvest. SRI fields were, most of them achieving highly superior yield and number of panicle compared to their FP fields. The results indicated that SRI practices of planting younger seedling, with organic material and topography of paddy, lead to increased grain yield.

  • Objective of this study was to investigate the effect of biogas production to different systems and feeding stocks. For the biogas production through operating the temperature phase anaerobic digestion(TPAD) with different feeding stocks, the stage state of biogas production with 70% of methane concentration in the thermophilic digestion tank with co-digestion of food waste and swine manure(40 : 60) was delayed at 3.5 times, but its mesophilic tank was short for 5 days as relative to the swine manure. The cumulative methane production in the thermophilic digestion tank with co-digestion of food waste and swine manure was started with greater than its swine manure at 60 days after digestion periods. However, its mesophilic tank with swine manure was great at 3 days after digestion periods. For aspect of anaerobic digestion processes with swine manure, it was appeared that the stage state of biogas production rate in TPAD was shorter than the two phase anaerobic digestion system.

  • Recently, as the demand for limited resources continues to rise and problems of resource depletion rise worldwide, the importance of renewable energy is gradually increasing. In order to solve these problems, various methods such as energy conservation and alternative energy development have been suggested, and biogas, which can utilize the gas produced from biomass as fuel, is also receiving attention as the next generation of innovative renewable energy. New and renewable energy using biogas is an energy production method that is expected to be possible in large scale because it can supply energy with high efficiency in compliance with energy supply method of recycling conventional resources. In order to more efficiently produce and manage these biogas, a biogas plant has emerged. In recent years, a large number of biogas plants have been installed and operated in various locations. Organic wastes corresponding to biogas production resources in a biogas plant exist in a wide variety of types, and each of the incoming raw materials is processed in different processes. Because such a process is required, the case where the biogas plant process is inefficiently operated is continuously occurring, and the economic cost consumed for the operation of the biogas production relative to the generated biogas production is further increased. In order to solve such problems, various attempts such as process analysis and feedback based on the feedstock have been continued but it is a passive method and very limited to operate a medium/large scale biogas plant. In this paper, we propose "CNN-based production yield prediction algorithm for increasing process efficiency of biogas plant" for efficient operation of biogas plant process. Based on CNN-based production yield forecasting, which is one of the deep-leaning technologies, it enables mechanical analysis of the process operation process and provides a solution for optimal process operation due to process-related accumulated data analyzed by the automated process.

  • Doosan Mecatec has developed alignment system for Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) display production using large size substrate. In the present article, The alignment system between the substrate and the mask, which is a core technology for producing the OLED product using the fourth-generation substrate with $730{\times}920mm^2$ or more, will be described by dividing into a substrate loader, a magnet unit, a CCD camera, etc. The substrate loader is optimized through the simulation where the central portion of the substrate droops by about 1.5mm by clamping each of a long side (920mm direction) and a short side (730mm direction) thereof by 6 point and 4 point. A magnet unit using a sheet type of rubber magnet is constituted and a CCD camera model with the specifications capable of minimizing the errors between a clear image and the same image is selected. The system to which an upward evaporation technique of small molecular organic materials will be applied has been developed so that repeatability and position accuracy becomes ${\pm}1{\mu}m$ or less using an UVW type of stage. Also, the vision accuracy of the CCD camera becomes ${\pm}1{\mu}m$ or less and the align process TACT becomes 30sec. or less so that the final alignment accuracy between the substrate and the mask becomes ${\pm}3{\mu}m$ or less. In order to meet an extra-large glass substrate, an evaporation system using an extra-large AMOLED substrate has been developing through a vertical type of an alignment system.
