Bis(3,5-dibromophenyl)dimethylsilane: A useful synthon for organosilicon chemistry

  • The diarylsilyl compound, C14H12Br4Si, was prepared from the reaction of 3,5-dibromophenyllithium with dimethyldichlorosilane, (CH3)2SiCl2, at -78 ℃, can be a good synthon for derivatization to produce efficient host materials for organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Crystal structure analysis shows a slight deviation from ideal tetrahedral symmetry around the Si atom, whose conformation is effective in ensuring the maximum separation of the two phenyl rings and the two methyl substituents. The directions of the two aromatic rings are almost perpendicular to each other. The molecule exists as a monomer in the solid state.

  • In this paper, we design, fabricate, and test the performance of a cabin filter with LED modules of composite wavelengths containing UV-A and UV-C. Germs and air farms of the manufactured cabin filter confirmed sterilization capability in the sterilization test, and special chambers were manufactured to verify organic material decomposition capability in the organic compound decomposition test. Using colkates as photocatalytic was proved to be superior to using metal mash. The sterilization and air purification capabilities of the cabin filter produced throughout this study were verified through a similar environmental test.

  • VOC는 volatile organic compound의 약자로서 toluene, benzene, MEK, MIBK등 자동차 운행, 도장산업, 인쇄업, 대형 세탁시설, 유류저장 및 출하시설에서 주로 배출되는 유기성 배기배출물을 총칭하는 개념이다. VOC는 작업현장에서 악취를 발생시켜 작업현장에서의 쾌적성을 해치기도 하지만, 태양에너지를 받아 오존을 형성하기 때문에 인체에 크게 해로운 역할을 한다. 정부에서는 대기환경보전법을 제정하여 휘발성유기화합물질 배출억제 정책을 실시하고 있으며, 배출업소에 대하여 휘발성유기화합물질 방지시설 설치를 의무화하고 있다.(중략)

  • Recently almost wastes except recycled garbage are dumped into landfill site in Korea. Landfills are significant compounds (NMOCS) are produced. NMOCS include reactive volative organic compound (VOC) and hazardous air pollutants. LAEEM (Landfill Air Emissions Estimation Model) developed by Control Technology Center, V.S. EPA is used to estimate a mount of landfill gas from all landfills. As the result, landfill gas 4,121,000 ton, carbon dioxide 2,951,000 ton, methane 1,1120,000 ton are estimated as emissions from all landfills in Korea.

  • Velutin and betulinic acid were isolated as a cytotoxic principle from the dichloromethane extract of Korean mistletoe (Viscum album var. coloratum) by repeated silicagel chromatography and recrystallization. In in vitro analysis of cytotoxic activity using NIH-3T3 cells, dichloromethane extract of Korean mistletoe was shown to be highly cytotoxic against tumor cells. And we obtained active compound (reffered to VD-2 and VD-6) from the dichloromethane extract. (omitted)

  • 온도의 변화에 따라 계절이 뚜렷하게 구분되는 지역에서 VOC (volatile organic compound, 휘발성 유기화합물)의 계절적 농도는 겨울에 농도가 높고 여름에 낮은 거동을 나타낸다. 이러한 농도 경향에서는 단지 겉으로 나타나는 농도의 절대치로는 계절적 농도 거동에 영향을 주는 요인들을 파악하기 어렵다. 이 연구에서는 측정된 농도가 지니고 있는 계절적 특성을 유추하기 위한 간접적 방법으로 주요 성분들의 농도비를 이용하였다. (중략)
