In lunar explorer development program, computer simulator is necessary to provide virtual environments that vehicle confronts in lunar transfer, orbit, and landing missions, and to analyze dynamic behavior of the spacecraft under these environments. Objective of simulation differs depending on its application in spacecraft development cycle. Scope of use cases considered in this paper includes simulation of software based, processor and/or hardware in the loop, and support of ground-based flight test of developed vehicle. These use cases represent early phase in development cycle but reusability of modeling results in the next design phase is considered in defining requirements. A simulator architecture in which simulator platform is located in the middle and modules for modeling, analyzing, and three dimensional visualizing are connected to that platform is suggested. Baseline concepts and requirements for simulator development are described. Result of trade study for selecting simulation platform and approaches of defining other simulator components are summarized. Finally, characters of lunar elevation map data which is necessary for lunar terrain generation is described.
The simple method of the geometric reconstruction of satellite linear pushbroom images is investigated. The model of the sensor used is based on the SPOT model that is developed by Kraiky. The satellite trajectory is a Keplerian trajectory in the approximation. Four orbital parameters, longitude of the ascending $node(\omega),$ inclination of the orbit plan(I), latitude argument of the satellite(W) and distance between earth center and satellite, are used for the camera modeling. We suppose that four orbital parameters and satellite attitude angles are exactly acquired. Then, in order to refine model, the given attitude angles and orbital parameters is not changed, but time-independent four parameters associated with LOS(Line Of Sight) vector is updated. A pair of SPOT-5 images has been used for validation of proposed method. Two GCPs acquired by GPS survey is used to controlling the LOS vector. The results are that the RMSE of 16 checking points are about 4.5m. Because the ground resolution of SPOT-5 is 2.5m, the result obtained in this study has a good accuracy. It demonstrates that the sensor model developed by this study can be used to reconstruct the geometry of satellite image taken by pushbroom camera.

In order to analyze the nonlinear phenomena of the bifurcation and chaos caused by the switching of nonlinear switching devices in inductively coupled power transfer (ICPT) systems, a Jacobian matrix model, based on discrete mapping numerical modeling, is established to judge the system stability of the periodic closed orbit and to study the nonlinear behavior of Hopf bifurcation in a system under full resonance. The general flow of the parameter design, based on the stability principle for ICPT systems, is proposed to avoid the chaos and bifurcation phenomena caused by unreasonable parameter selection. Firstly, based on the state equation of SS-type compensation, a three-dimensional bifurcation diagram with the coupling coefficient as the bifurcation parameter is established with a numerical simulation to observe the nonlinear phenomena in the system. Then Filippov's method based on a Jacobian matrix model is adopted to deduce the boundary of stable operation and to judge the type of the bifurcation in the system. Then the general flow of the parameter design based on the stability principle for ICPT systems is proposed through the above analysis to realize stable operation under the conditions of weak coupling. Finally, an experimental platform is built to confirm the correctness of the numerical simulation and modeling.
Accurate mathematical models of spacecraft components are an essential of spacecraft attitude control system design, analysis and simulation. Gyro is one of the most important spacecraft components used for attitude propagation and control. Gyro errors may seriously degrade the accuracy of the calculated spacecraft angular rate and of attitude estimates due to inherent drift and bias errors. In order to validate this model, nominal case simulation has been performed and compared for the low range mode and high range mode, respectively. In this paper, a mathematical model of gyro containing the relationships for predicting spacecraft angular rate and disturbances is proposed.
We present a GPS-derived regional ionosphere model, which estimates Total Electron Content (TEC) in rectangular grids on the spherical shell over Korea. The GPS data from nine GPS stations were used. The pseudorange data were phase-leveled by a linear combination of pseudoranges and carrier phases. During a quiet day of solar activity, the regional ionosphere map indicated 30-45 Total Electron Content Unit (TECU) at the peak of the diurnal variation. In comparison with the Global Ionosphere Map of the Center for Orbit Determination in Europe, RMS differences were at the level of 4-5 TECU for five days.

Recent analysis on asteroidal thermophysical property revealed that there is a tendency that their thermal inertia decrease with their sizes at least for main belt asteroids. However, little is known about the thermal properties of comet-like bodies. In this work we utilized a simple thermophysical model to calculate the thermal inertia of a bare nucleus of comet P/2006 HR30 (Siding Spring) and an asteroid in comet-like orbit 4015 Wilson-Harrington from AKARI observation data. It is also shown that the determination of their thermal inertia is very sensitive to their spin vector, while the diameter is rather easy to be constrained to a certain range by combining multi-wavelength observational data. Thus, we set diameter and hence the geometric albedo as fixed parameters, and inferred the spin vector and thermal inertia of the targets. Further detailed analyses on these cometary bodies will shed light on our understanding of the detailed surfacial characteristics of them.
Using the spectroscopic analysis and the theoretical modeling, physical properties of the nearby astrometric binary $\mu$ Cas have been determined. In spite of the well-defined parallax and astrometric orbit, there has been a chronic mass ratio problem between components. Recently, the radius of the primary component has been detected from the optical interferometric observation of the CHARA array. Using the high resolution spectroscopic analysis, we found that $\mu$ Cas have $\alpha$-enhanced chemical composition with respect to the scaled solar abundance by a factor of two. Combining our abundance analysis with recently determined physical properties, the consistent models for $\mu$ Cas have been constructed within the frame work of standard stellar theory. Through a statistical minimization between theoretical model grids, a reliable set of physical dimensions has been defined. Furthermore, the mode oscillation frequency of the best model has been calculated.
3D content rendering is one of the important factors that give a sense of realism when creating content, and this process takes a lot of time. In this paper, we proposed a method to improve rendering performance by reducing the vast amount of 3D data in the web environment, and conducted a performance test using DEM and 3D model elevation data. As a result of the experiment, the digital elevation model showed faster performance than the Blender-based 3D modeling, but when the screen was moved using OrbitControl, the fps dropped momentarily. In the case of Terrain, if the range is limited to a speed that maintains 24 to 60 fps using frustum culling and LOD techniques, it is considered that a higher quality map can be produced than GeoTIFF.

In non-geostationary orbit(NGSO) satellite communication links, satellite's elevation angle at terminal is changed continuously because of the satellite movement relative to earth surface. Therefore the characteristics of the fade-effected signal received by a terminal from a NGSO satellite is also varied continuously even if the terminal is operated at fixed location. In this paper, we determine a general statistic model for the fading characteristics over NGSO satellite communication links and set up the parameters of the fading model in terms of the elevation angle according to various propagation environment and find the parameter values using the data of fading margin for commercial NGSO mobile satellite communication systems. And the fading charateristics for each environment are analyzed using this model. These results can be applied to develop the compensation algorithm and to analyze the performance of the transmission schemes for NGSO mobile satellite communication systems.
In the remote sensing researches, the reflected bright source such as snow, cloud have effects on the image quality of wanted signal. Even though those signal from bright source are adjusted in corresponding pixel level with atmospheric correction algorithm or radiometric correction, those can be problem to the nearby signal as one of the stray light source. Especially, in the step and stare observational method which makes one mosaic image with several snap shots, one of target area can affect next to the other snap shot each other. Presented in this paper focused on the stray light analysis from unwanted reflected bright source for geostationary ocean color sensor. The stray light effect for total 16 slot images each other were performed according to 8 band filters. For the realistic simulation, we constructed system modeling with integrated ray tracing technique which realizes the same space time in the remote sensing observation among the Sun, the Earth, and the satellite. Computed stray light effect in the results of paper demonstrates the distinguishable radiance value at the specific time and space.
