This study aims to understand the relationship between the awareness of oral health prevention and general characteristics by investigating the awareness of oral health prevention and to provide basic data to make oral health education guidelines for oral health prevention and the need for oral health prevention by analyzing factors that influence the awareness of oral health prevention. For about a month since December 2016, the data of 380 people aged 10 and over residing in Seoul and the Gyeonggi Province was gathered, and the following results have been obtained after excluding 19 people whose answers were insufficient. It was found that gender (female, p<0.05), age (50 years and over, p<0.05), educational background (high school diploma and university diploma or higher, p<0.05), average monthly income (KRW 3.0 million - 4.0 million, p<0.05), oral health importance (p<0.001), and awareness of the need for oral health prevention (p<0,001) among the selected independent variables had statistically significant effects on the awareness of oral health prevention. Considering the results above, I believe that it is important to develop oral health education programs, which reflect the characteristics of people in order to motivate them to perform prevention activities, rather than education programs about simply acquiring knowledge for prevention activities and to establish social conditions that can enable continued education, in order to increase the awareness of oral health prevention activities.
This study was conducted to investigate correlation between oral health belief and oral health-related quality of life (OHIP-14) based on oral health education experience. A survey was conducted on adults living in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam region. Collected data was analyzed using SPSS 25.0. As a result, adults with oral health education experience had significantly higher scores in subfactors of oral health belief and subfactors of oral health-related quality of life than adults without oral health education experience. There were correlations between factors in oral health education experience, oral health belief, and oral health-related quality of life. Therefore, operating oral health education program by life cycle will promote oral health as well as will help to enhance the importance and necessity of oral health education by improving quality of life.

Darta were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 for frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and post-hoc Tukey. Results : 1. In general characteristics, adult living in Korea revealed higher DT and DMFT than those in the US. 2. In oral health status, adult living in Korea revealed higher DT and DMFT than those in the US. 3. The variables affecting oral health status in Korean adults in the US were age, private health insurance and number of tooth brushing. 4. The variables affecting oral health status in adults in Korea included gender, age, private health insurance, smoking, drinking, use of secondary oral hygienic products and number of tooth brushing. Objectives : A survey was conducted to investigate oral health belief and education awareness of oral health of workers in the workplace and to obtain the basic data necessary to promote their oral health and design an oral health education program. Methods : This study conducted a self-administered survey. Results : The following conclusion was made. For oral health beliefs based on the type of work that the workers did, workers in production and technical services had more benefits than those in other fields(security, guard, etc.), and workers on night duty had more oral health hygiene problems than that of regular day-time workers. The longer the period of service was, the more sensitive and serious the workers were and the less beneficial the work was; workers working for eight hours or less had higher levels of importance than those working for ten hours. They were well aware of the need for oral health education but were less aware of the need for an oral health room. Conclusions : It is necessary to emphasize oral health beliefs when developing an oral health education program that promotes oral health for workers in the workplace. If an oral health education program attempts to reflect the concerns of workers in the workplace and provides preferred contents and methods on oral health education, the program is expected to promote the active and positive participation of the workers.
Objectives: This study aimed to prepare basic data to improve the health-related quality of life of cancer survivors by confirming their oral and mental health statuses and identifying factors affecting their health-related quality of life. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to confirm the effect of cancer survivors' oral and mental health on health-related quality of life. Results: Subjective oral health (p<0.01), chewing problems (p<0.05), subjective health (p<0.001), and depression (p<0.01) had an effect on health-related quality of life from multiple regression analyses. Conclusions: Therefore, oral and mental health promotion may improve health-related quality of life. Thus, it is necessary to recognize the importance of oral and mental health and implement preventive education and programs.
