어머니의 낙관성 및 양육행동과 아동의 낙관성이 주관적 안녕감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Mothers' Optimism, Parenting Behaviors and Their Child's Optimism and The Effects on a Child Subjective Well-being)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the path model of mothers' optimism, parenting behaviors and a child's optimism and the effects on their child's subjective well-being. The subjects of this study consisted of 331 pairs of mothers and their children from 5th and 6th elementary school students in Seoul. Data were gathered via four questionnaires on mothers' optimism reported by mothers and their parenting behaviors, child optimism, and child subjective well-being as reported by the children. Data were analysed by Structural Equation Model using AMOS 19.0. The results indicated the following, the hypothesized model yielded an acceptable model fit and most of the hypothesized path coefficients were found to be significant. Specifically, mothers' optimism and parenting behaviors influence their children's subjective well-being indirectly through children's optimism. It is concluded that the more optimistic the mothers, the more likely the children themselves will share that optimism and in turn, they will also have higher levels of subjective well-being.

  • Purpose: Optimism is an important psychological variable that functions positively in stress adaptation process. The purpose of this study was to identify either a mediating or moderating effect of optimism in the relationship between stress and well-being among mothers of children with diabetes mellitus. Methods: A sample of 109 mothers of children with diabetes mellitus was recruited in a tertiary hospital in B city and they completed self-reported questionnaires. Multiple regression analysis models were used to test the mediating and moderating effects of optimism in the relationship between stress and well-being. Results: The results of the multiple and hierarchical regression analysis showed that the role of optimism was examined a partial mediator of the relation between stress and well-being, not a moderator. Increased stress was associated with decreasing optimism and well-being, and increased optimism predicted increased well-being among mothers of children with diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: Optimism is more likely to play a role as mediator, rather than as a moderator. This finding suggests the importance of optimism in improving the well-being of mothers of children with diabetes mellitus.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of achievement parenting behavior on the relationship between parents' and adolescents' optimism. The subjects of the study were 514 adolescents who were selected from the first and second grades of middle schools in Busan as well as their parents. The results indicated that parents' achievement parenting behavior had mediating effects on the relationship between parents' and adolescents' optimism. In boy adolescents, parents' achievement parenting behavior had partially mediating effects on the relationship between parents' and boy adolescents' optimism. In girl adolescents, fathers' achievement behavior had complete mediating effects on the relationship between fathers' and girl adolescents' optimism. Moreover, it was observed that mothers' achievement parenting behavior had partially mediating effects on the relationship between mothers' and girl adolescents' optimism.

Genetic and Environmental Influences on Dispositional Optimism and Depressive Symptoms in Adolescence

  • This study explored genetic and environmental contributions to optimism, depressive symptoms, and the association between the two using a genetically informative sample from the Nonshared Environment and Adolescent Development project (NEAD: D. Reiss; J. M. Neiderhiser; E. M. Hetherington; & R. Plomin, 2000. At Time 1 of the longitudinal NEAD study, the sample consisted of 720 samesex twins and sibling pairs from two parent families. The study used parent, adolescent, and observer ratings of depressive symptoms as well as adolescent ratings of optimism. The results revealed that genetic influences explained approximately half of the variability in optimism and depressive symptoms. Nonshared environmental influences also substantially contributed to optimism and depressive symptoms. Bivariate genetic analyses (which partitioned the covariance between optimism and depressive symptoms into genetic and environmental components) indicated that genetic influences accounted for a moderate percentage of the association.

부모-자녀간 의사소통과 남녀 청소년의 낙관성이 갈등대처방식에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Parent-Adolescent Communication and Adolescent Optimism on Conflict-Coping Styles)

  • Objective: The main purpose of this study was to examine the direct and indirect effects of parent-adolescent communication (through adolescent optimism) on adolescent conflict-coping styles. Methods: A total of 337 high school students participated in this study. They completed questionnaires about communications with their parents and their own optimism and conflict-coping styles. Data were analyzed using t-tests, correlations, and SEM. Results: Neither father- nor mother-adolescent communication had direct effects on adolescent conflict-coping styles. However, mother-adolescent communication had an indirect effect on conflict-coping styles, mediated by adolescent optimism. Adolescents who had open communication with mothers displayed higher levels of optimism, which led to more positive conflict-coping styles. In addition, multigroup analyses revealed that there were significant gender differences in direct and indirect effects. For boys, mother-adolescent communication directly influenced adolescent conflict-coping styles; however, father-adolescent communication did not directly or indirectly affect adolescent conflict-coping styles. For girls, neither father- nor mother-adolescent communication had direct effects on conflict-coping styles; only optimism had a significant effect on conflict-coping styles. Conclusion: The findings from this study suggest that communication with mothers and fathers have different effects on adolescents' conflict-coping styles. These findings have implications for future research and practice by emphasizing the importance of parent-adolescent communication and optimism in designing conflict-coping programs for adolescents.

영재들의 낙관성 수준에 관한 연구 (A study of optimism level in the sifted)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 영재유형별 낙관성의 수준과 차이를 연구하는 것이며, 이를 위해서 과학영재 science gifted, 체육영재athleties, 미술영재art, 음악영재music, 학문영재academic, 그리고 평재mainstream students를 각각 60명씩 표집하였으며, 이들의 낙관성을 측정하기 위하여 Seligman의 낙관성 검사를 사용하였다. 영재들의 낙관성 수준을 알아보기 위해서는 Seligman이 제시한 낙관성 해석방법을 이용하였고, 영재유형간 낙관성의 차이를 알아보기 위해서는 변량분석을 하였으며 유의미한 차이가 있을 때는 Duncan 검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 영재들의 낙관성 수준은 대체로 다소 비관적 수준을 나타내었고, 학문영재와 과학영재의 낙관성 수준이 미술영재와 체육영재의 낙관성 수준보다 유의미하게 높았으며, 영재와 평재 간의 낙관성 수준은 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 연구결과로 미루어 볼 때 영재의 성공과 행복 그리고 국가사회의 발전을 위해서는 영재교육의 내용과 방법에 반성적 사고가 요구된다고 하겠다.

간호대학생의 그릿과 학습몰입과의 관계에서 낙관성의 매개효과 (The mediating effect of optimism between grit and learning flow of nursing students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of optimism on the relationship between grit and learning flow in nursing college students. Methods: Structured self-reported questionnaires were used to measure grit, optimism and learning flow. The study was conducted on 200 nursing students in P, U and J cities between September 1 and September 20, 2020. The data were analyzed using a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and hierarchical multiple linear regression with SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: Significant relationships were found between learning flow and grit (r=.60, p<.001), between learning flow and optimism (r=.42, p<.001), and between grit and optimism (r=.42, p<.001). Additionally, optimism had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between grit and learning flow (Z=3.11, p<.001). Conclusion: These results indicate that interventions to increase the level of grit along with optimism is necessary in order to increase the level of nursing college students' learning flow.

성인의 대인외상경험과 외상 후 성장의 관계 : 낙관성과 관계의 질의 다중매개효과 (The Relationship between Adult Interpersonal Traumatic Experience and Posttraumatic Growth : The Multiple Mediating Effect of Optimism and Quality of Relationship)

  • 본 연구는 성인의 대인외상경험과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 낙관성과 관계의 질의 다중매개효과를 검증하기위해 실시되었다. 이를 위해 30세 이상 60세미만의 성인을 대상으로 임의표집방법에 의해 조사를 실시하였다. 주요 분석방법으로는 구조방정식모델(SEM) 분석을 AMOS프로그램을 사용해 실시하였다. 매개효과 검증을 위해서 Bootstrap 방법을 사용 하였고, 다중매개효과의 간접효과 검증을 위해서는 팬텀변수(Phantom Variable)를 사용해 모형을 변형한 후 분석하였다. 연구결과, 대인외상경험 수준이 높을수록 외상 후 성장도 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 대인외상경험과 외상후 성장 사이에서 낙관성과 관계의 질이 각각 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대인외상경험과 외상 후 성장 사이에서 낙관성과 관계의 질이 이중매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 실천현장에서의 실천적 전략과 사회복지에의 함의를 제시하였다.

커뮤니케이션 보드 게임을 활용한 낙관성 증진에 관한 연구 대학생 집단을 중심으로 (A Study on Promoting Optimism Utilizing a Communication Board Game - With a focus on college students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들을 대상으로 커뮤니케이션 보드 게임을 활용하여 낙관성 증진 효과를 검증하였다. 기존 연구에서는 낙관성이 자기효능감, 성취감, 성적, 삶의 만족도, 역경 극복 등과 밀접하게 관련이 있기에 낙관성 증진이 중요함을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 기질과 상관없이 낙관성도 학습될 수 있다는 Seligman(1990)의 연구를 기반으로, 보다 캐주얼한 환경에서 게임을 활용하여 낙관성을 증진시킬 수 있는 실용적인 방안에 대해 연구하고자 한다. study1에서는 사전(t1) 검사 시 낙관주의는 M=-4.7, 그리고 사후(t2) 시기에는 M=12.8점으로 증가하였다(***p<.001). study2에서는 실험집단(n=21)과 함께 통제집단(n=22)도 설계하였으며, 실험집단은 M=-2.4(t1)에서 M=11.5(t2)로 증가하였으나(***p<.001), 통제집단은 차이가 없었다.

초등학생의 향유하기와 행복감 및 낙관성의 관계 (The Relationship among Savoring, Happiness and Optimism of Elementary School Children)

  • 본 연구는 아동의 향유하기와 행복감 및 낙관성의 관계를 분석하여 아동의 향유하기가 행복감 및 낙관성과 어떠한 관계를 맺고 있으며, 행복감과 낙관성에 대한 향유하기의 설명력은 어떠한지 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 서울과 경기도에 소재한 10개의 초등학교 5, 6학년 아동 495명을 대상으로 향유하기 검사, 행복감 검사, 낙관성 검사를 실시하였으며, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동의 향유하기, 행복감, 낙관성 모두에서 여학생이 남학생보다 유의미하게 높은 점수를 보였다. 둘째, 향유하기와 행복감 및 행복감의 하위요인(가정환경, 자아특성, 능력, 대인관계)은 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 초등학생의 향유하기는 행복감의 60.70%를 유의미하게 설명하였다. 셋째, 향유하기는 낙관성과 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 초등학생의 향유하기는 낙관성의 66.51%를 유의미하게 설명하였다. 이상과 같이 향유하기와 행복감, 향유하기와 낙관성은 각각 높은 상관관계를 맺고 있으며, 향유하기가 행복감과 낙관성에 영향을 미칠 가능성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 초등학생의 행복감 및 낙관성 향상을 위한 적극적인 방법으로서의 향유하기의 중요성을 시사하는 것으로, 아동의 향유하기 수준을 높일 수 있는 구체적이고 체계적인 향유하기 프로그램 개발과 검증의 필요성을 보여준다.
