지역 교통망 관리를 위한 최적 신호순서에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Signal Timing for Area Traffic Control)

  • A genetic algorithm to determine the optimal signal sequence and double cycle pattern is described. The signal sequence and double cycle pattern are used as the input for TRANSYT to find optimal signal timing at each junction in the area traffic networks, In the genetic process, the partially matched crossover and simple crossover operators are used for evolution of signal sequence and double cycle pattern respectively. A special conversion algorithm is devised to convert the signal sequence into the link-stage assignment for TRANSYT. Results from tests using data from an area traffic network in Leicester region R are given.

최적의 연료분사와 점화시기 제어를 위한 자동차 엔진용 전자제어장치 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of an Electronic Control Unit of the Automobile Engine for Optimal Fuel Injection and Spark Timing Control)

  • In this paper, an electronic control unit of the automobile engine for optimal fuel injection an spark timing control has been designed and developed. This system includes hardware and software for a precise control of fuel injection and ignition timing. Especially, the crank angle sensor provides two separate signals: One is the position signal (POS) which indicates 180 degree pulses per revolution, and the other is the reference signal (REF) that represents each cylinder individually. Consequently, the developed engine control system has been able to control fuel injection and ignition timing more quickly and accurately. Through the experiment, it has been found that the fuel injection duration and the position of MBT have been influenced by coolant temperature, air flow rate and engine speed.

M-BECM의 타이밍 검출기 출력 특성 분석 (Analysis of the Timing Detector's Characteristics of the Modified BECM(M-BECM) Algorithm)

  • Previously, we have proposed the M-BECM(Modified-Band Edge Component Maximization), which is a symbol synchronization algorithm based on spectral line method for all-digital high speed digital communications. However, Until now, the characteristics of the timing detector based on the spectral line method including M-BECM was not analyzed, particularly the effect of a timing offset at the optimal convergence pont. In this paper, we analyze the timing dtector's characteristics of the M-BECM and present optimal design value. First, the expression for the timing detector's mean value(often called its S-Curver) as a function of the normalized symbol timing offset is derived. Next, the P $D_{bias}$, the value for compensating the timing offset at an optimal convergence point, and the bandwidth of bandpass filter in the timing detector are calculated. It is also shown and analyzed that the P $D_{bias}$ is affected by varuous factors such as the excess bandwidth of input signal, frequency offsets, noise and particularly, the excess bandwidth of input signal is a major parameter to decide P $D_{bias}$. Finally, analytic resutls are compared to simulation results.

충격파 이론을 이용한 대중교통 우선신호의 신호시간 산정모형 (Signal Timing Calculation Model of Transit Signal Priority using Shockwave Theory)

  • 본 연구에서는 충격파 모형을 이용하여 능동식 우선신호의 최적 신호시간을 산정하기 위한 모형을 제시하였다. 본 신호 최적화 모형을 이용하여 능동형 우선신호 기법 중 Early green 및 Green extension이 적용되는 조건에서 충격파 면적을 산정할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 평균통행시간 및 교차로 진출시각을 이용해 충격파의 발생 속도를 산정하기 위한 방법을 제시하였으며, 이를 이용해 우선신호로 인한 현시 변화량에 따라 충격파 면적 변화량을 산정할 수 있다. 또한 교차로 전체의 충격파 면적이 최소화되는 신호시간을 산정하여 우선신호로 인해 증가하는 일반차량의 지체를 최소화할 수 있도록 하였다. 우선신호 신호시간 산정 모형의 효과평가를 위해 VISSIM과 ComInterface를 이용한 미시적 시뮬레이션 분석을 시행하였으며, 이동류의 포화상태를 고려하여 지체 최소화를 위한 신호시간이 산정됨을 확인하였다. 독립교차로를 대상으로 하는 사례분석에서 우선신호를 위해 비우선현시를 균일하게 단축하는 전략 대비 본 모형에서 일반차량 지체가 10% 이상 개선됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 트램, BRT, 중앙버스 전용차로 등 대중교통 우선시설이 확산되고 있는 최근 국내 상황에서 신호교차로의 운영효율을 높이기 위한 새로운 우선신호 제어 방법을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있겠다.

Performance Comparison of Different GPS L-Band Dual-Frequency Signal Processing Technologies

  • The Global Positioning System (GPS) provides more accurate positioning estimation performance by processing L1 and L2 signals simultaneously through dual frequency signal processing technology at the L-band rather than using only L1 signal. However, if anti-spoofing (AS) mode is run at the GPS, the precision (P) code in L2 signal is encrypted to Y code (or P(Y) code). Thus, dual frequency signal processing can be done only when the effect of P(Y) code is eliminated through the L2 signal processing technology. To do this, a codeless technique or semi-codeless technique that can acquire phase measurement information of L2 signal without information about W code should be employed. In this regard, this paper implements L2 signal processing technology where two typical codeless techniques and four typical semi-codeless techniques of previous studies are applied and compares their performances to discuss the optimal technique selection according to implementation environments and constraints.

  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, equipped with advanced features and precise specifications, thus demanding efficient and high-performance hardware platforms. This paper presents the design and implementation of a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based GNSS receiver development platform for multi-band signal processing. This platform utilizes a FPGA to provide a flexible and re-configurable hardware environment, enabling real-time signal processing, position determination, and handling of large-scale data. Integrated signal processing of L/S bands enhances the performance and functionality of GNSS receivers. Key components such as the RF frontend, signal processing modules, and power management are designed to ensure optimal signal reception and processing, supporting multiple GNSS. The developed hardware platform enables real-time signal processing and position determination, supporting multiple GNSS systems, thereby contributing to the advancement of GNSS development and research.

공압식 능동형 엔진마운트시스템의 최적 제어매개변수 식별 (Identification of Optimal Control Parameters for a Pneumatic Active Engine Mount System)

  • Pneumatic Active Engine Mount(PAEM) with open-loop control system has been developed to reduce the transmission of the idle-shake vibration induced by engine effectively and economically. A solenoid valve installed between PAEM and vacuum tank is on-off switched by the Pulse Width Modulate(PWM) control signal to decrease the dynamic stiffness of the engine mount. This paper presents the methodology to identify the optimal values of control parameters of a PAEM, i.e, turn-on timing and duty ratio of PWM signal for 6 different idle driving conditions. A scanning algorithm was first applied to the vehicle test to obtain the approximate optimal control parameters minimizing the vibration at front seat rail and at steering wheel. Then the PAEM system identification was fulfilled to find accurate optimal control parameters by using multi-layer neural networks of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm with vehicle test data.

  • 신호교차로로 구성된 네트워크의 시스템최적 신호시간산정을 위해 Cell Transmission 이론을 교통류 모형으로 활용한 신호최적화 모형을 제안한다. Cell Transmission 모형은 기존에 소개된 신호최적화 모형과는 달리 충격파, 대기행렬의 길이, 그리고 하류부 교차로 대기행렬의 역류(Spillback)과 같은 과포화 현상을 표현하는데 적절한 이론적이고 실제적인 배경을 지원한다. 모형에서 기점을 출발한 수요차량은 종점에 도착할 때까지 경로선택을 통해서, 그리고 신호시스템은 이러한 수요의 움직임 고려하여 신호시간요소의 최적화를 통한 네트워크의 비용을 최소화하기 위해 서로 협력한다는 의미에서 제안된 모형은 시스템 최적화를 의미한다. 모형은 혼합정수계획법으로 정식화되며 최적신호전략과 고정신호전략간의 실험계획을 통해 구축된 모형을 비교·평가한다.

Determination of Optimal Scan Time for the Measurement of Downstream Metabolites in Hyperpolarized 13C MRSI

  • Purpose: For a single time-point hyperpolarized $^{13}C$ magnetic resonance spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) of animal models, scan-time window after injecting substrates is critical in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of downstream metabolites. Pre-scans of time-resolved magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) can be performed to determine the scan-time window. In this study, based on two-site exchange model, protocol-specific simulation approaches were developed for $^{13}C$ MRSI and the optimal scan-time window was determined to maximize the SNR of downstream metabolites. Materials and Methods: The arterial input function and conversion rate constant from injected substrates (pyruvate) to downstream metabolite (lactate) were precalibrated, based on pre-scans of time-resolved MRS. MRSI was simulated using two-site exchange model with considerations of scan parameters of MRSI. Optimal scan-time window for mapping lactate was chosen from simulated lactate intensity maps. The performance was validated by multiple in vivo experiments of BALB/C nude mice with MDA-MB-231 breast tumor cells. As a comparison, MRSI were performed with other scan-time windows simply chosen from the lactate signal intensities of pre-scan time-resolved MRS. Results: The optimal scan timing for our animal models was determined by simulation, and was found to be 15 s after injection of the pyruvate. Compared to the simple approach, we observed that the lactate peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) was increased by 230%. Conclusion: Optimal scan timing to measure downstream metabolites using hyperpolarized $^{13}C$ MRSI can be determined by the proposed protocol-specific simulation approaches.

5지 신호교차로에서의 안전을 고려한 신호현시 설계 (Safety Enhanced Signal Phase Sequence Design of a Rotary with Five Leg Intersection)

  • 일반적으로 4지 또는 3지의 교차로가 설계·운영되고 있으나 적지 않게 5지 또는 그 이상 의 원형 신호교차로가 실질적으로 이용되고 있다. 접근로 수에 따른 교차로 형태별 분류에 의하면 5지 이상의 교차로에서의 상충지 점의 수는 4지 교차로의 그것보다 월등히 높아 설계지침에서도 4지 이하의 교차로를 설계할 것을 권하고 있으며 마찬가지로 5지 원형 신호교차로에서도 그 상충지점 수가 많다. 이러한 이유로 5지 신호 교차로의 신호 설계는 교통소통이 아닌 교통안전측면에서 신호현시 순서 및 길이가 결정되어야 할 필요가 있으며 또 그러한 현시순서는 교차로 내 원활한 교통의 흐름을 심각한 수준으로 방해하지 않을 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 5지 신호교차로의 안전을 고려한 현시순서설계 방안을 제시한다. 울산광역시에서 운영중인 공업탑 5지 신호교차로를 대상으로 현장자료를 수집하였으며, 신호시간 설계모형은 TRANSYT-7F를 적용했다. TRANSYT-7F에서의 최적 신호현시의 길이를 토대로 기본적으로 "한 현시에 2개 교통류의 이동" 원칙에 따라 재배열하였다. 제안된 방법으로 보정된 신호현시 순서 및 길이를 사용하여 모의실험한 결과 TRANSYT-7F에서 제시한 최적 신호현시 순서 및 길이를 적용한 것에 비하여 평균 6.2%지체도 증가가 있었으나 교차로 내 상충수를 61.5% 줄이는 결과를 도출하였다.
