2자유도 적분형 최적제어법을 이용한 BLDC 모터의 속도제어 (Speed Control for BLDC Motors Using a Two-Degree-of-Freedom Optimal Control Technique)

  • 본 논문에서는 BLDC 서보모터의 속도 제어성 향상을 위해 속도제어계에 2자유도 적분형 최적 제어법을 적용하고 그 결과를 기존의 PI제어계 및 2자유도 PI제어계와 비교하였다. 2자유도 적분형 최적제어법은 PI제어법이 갖는 지령치 추종특성과 외란 억제특성간의 트레이드오프 문제를 해결하고, 제어계의 최적성을 확보하고자 도입되어졌으며, 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 그 유효성을 고찰하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계는 PI제어계에 비해 양호한 지령치 추종성과 외란 및 모델링 오차제거 특성을 보였다. (2) 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계는 제어파라미터인 하중행렬 Q, R 및 W에 대한 제약요건이 없을 경우, 모터의 정격조건 하에서 이들을 적절히 설정함으로써 2자유도 PI제어계보다도 양호한 지령치 추종성과 외란 및 모델링 오차 제거 특성을 얻을 수 있다. (3) 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계는 인가전압 및 전류의 크기를 2자유도 PI제어계의 그것과 동일하게 제약할 경우 2자유도 PI제어계에 비해 지령치 추종에 관한 정정시간 외에는 그다지 우수한 성능을 보이지 않았다. 또한, 실험을 통해 고찰한 PI 및 2자유도 PI제어계의 속도추종성능은 시뮬레이션 결과와 거의 동일하였다. 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계에 대한 실험결과는 논문에 나타내지 못하였으나, PI및 2자유도 PI제어계의 실험결과에서 알 수 있듯이 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계도 시뮬레이션 결과와 같은 경향을 보일 것으로 사료된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서 검토된 방법은 기존의 PI 제어계가 갖는 지령치 추종과 외란억제의 트레이드오프 문제를 상당부분 해결 가능할 것으로 보인다. 또한, 일정의 부하외란 및 모델링 오차내에서는 2자유도 PI제어계 보다 나은 제어성능을 보여 BLDC 모터의 속도 제어성 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대가 된다. 향후, 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계의 실험결과를 통한 엄밀한 제어성능검증과 스텝외란 외의 주기성 외란 인가시 2자유도 적분형 최적제어계의 외란제거 방안 등이 검토되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

자동차 현가장치 부품에 대한 신뢰성 기반 최적설계에 관한 연구 (A Study for the Reliability Based Design Optimization of the Automobile Suspension Part)

  • The automobile suspension system is composed of parts that affect performances of a vehicle such as ride quality, handling characteristics, straight performance and steering effort, etc. Moreover, by using the finite element analysis the cost for the initial design step can be decreased. In the design of a suspension system, usually system vibration and structural rigidity must be considered simultaneously to satisfy dynamic and static requirements simultaneously. In this paper, we consider the weight reduction and the increase of the first eigen-frequency of a suspension part, the upper control arm, especially using topology optimization and size optimization. Firstly, we obtain the initial design to maximize the first eigen-frequency using topology optimization. Then, we apply the multi-objective parameter optimization method to satisfy both the weight reduction and the increase of the first eigen-frequency. The design variables are varying during the optimization process for the multi-objective. Therefore, we can obtain the deterministic values of the design variables not only to satisfy the terms of variation limits but also to optimize the two design objectives at the same time. Finally, we have executed reliability based optimal design on the upper control arm using the Monte-Carlo method with importance sampling method for the optimal design result with 98% reliability.

스타이너 트리 문제를 위한 Ant Colony Optimization 알고리즘의 개발 (An Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm to Solve Steiner Tree Problem)

  • The Steiner arborescence problem is known to be NP-hard. The objective of this problem is to find a minimal Steiner tree which starts from a designated node and spans all given terminal nodes. This paper proposes a method based on a two-step procedure to solve this problem efficiently. In the first step, graph reduction rules eliminate useless nodes and arcs which do not contribute to make an optimal solution. In the second step. ant colony algorithm with use of Prim's algorithm is used to solve the Steiner arborescence problem in the reduced graph. The proposed method based on a two-step procedure is tested in the five test problems. The results show that this method finds the optimal solutions to the tested problems within 50 seconds. The algorithm can be applied to undirected Steiner tree problems with minor changes. 18 problems taken from Beasley are used to compare the performances of the proposed algorithm and Singh et al.'s algorithm. The results show that the proposed algorithm generates better solutions than the algorithm compared.

다특성 파라미터설계 방법의 비교 연구 (A Comparison of Parameter Design Methods for Multiple Performance Characteristics)

  • In product or process parameter design, the case of multiple performance characteristics appears more commonly than that of a single characteristic. Numerous methods have been developed to deal with such multi-characteristic parameter design (MCPD) problems. Among these, this paper considers three representative methods, which are respectively based on the desirability function (DF), grey relational analysis (GRA), and principal component analysis (PCA). These three methods are then used to solve the MCPD problems in ten case studies reported in the literature. The performance of each method is evaluated for various combinations of its algorithmic parameters and alternatives. Relative performances of the three methods are then compared in terms of the significance of a design parameter and the overall performance value corresponding to the compromise optimal design condition identified by each method. Although no method is significantly inferior to others for the data sets considered, the GRA-based and PCA-based methods perform slightly better than the DF-based method. Besides, for the PCA-based method, the compromise optimal design condition depends much on which alternative is adopted while, for the GRA-based method, it is almost independent of the algorithmic parameter, and therefore, the difficulty involved in selecting an appropriate algorithmic parameter value can be alleviated.

애드혹 네트워크에서 협력통신을 위한 유전 알고리즘 (A Genetic Algorithm for Cooperative Communication in Ad-hoc Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 애드혹 네트워크에서 협력통신을 위한 이동노드 간 연결을 최대화하는 유전 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반적으로 네트워크에서 이동노드의 이동량이 증가하면 노드 연결을 위한 계산량은 급격히 늘어나게 된다. 본 논문에서는 밀집도가 높은 네트워크에서 적정한 시간 내에 최적의 노드 연결을 위한 유전 알고리즘을 제안하며, 효율적인 검색을 위해 유전 알고리즘의 효과적인 이웃해 생성 동작을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 최대 노드 연결 수와 실행시간 관점에서 성능을 평가하며, 평가 결과에서 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 알고리즘들에 비해 성능이 우수함을 보인다.

Optimal aerodynamic design of hypersonic inlets by using streamline-tracing techniques

  • Rectangular-to-Ellipse Shape Transition (REST) inlets are a class of inward turning inlets designed for hypersonic flight. The aerodynamic design of REST inlets involves very complex flows and shock-wave patterns. These inlets are used in highly integrated propulsive systems. Often the design of these inlets may require many geometrical constraints at different cross-section. In present work a design approach for hypersonic inward-turning inlets, adapted for REST inlets, is coupled with a multi-objective optimization procedure. The automated procedure iterates on the parametric representation and on the numerical solution of a base flow from which the REST inlet is generated by using streamline tracing and shape transition algorithms. The typical design problem of optimizing the total pressure recovery and mass flow capture of the inlet is solved by the proposed procedure. The accuracy of the optimal solutions found is discussed and the performances of the designed REST inlets are investigated by means of fully 3-D Euler and 3-D RANS analyses.

Optimal SOC Reference Based Active Cell Balancing on a Common Energy Bus of Battery

  • This paper presents a study on the state-of-charge (SOC) reference based active cell balancing in real-time. The optimal references of SOC are determined by using the proposed active cell balancing system with the bidirectional DC/DC converters via the dual active bridge (DAB) type. Then, the energies between cells can be balanced by the power flow control of DAB based bidirectional DC/DC converters. That is, it provides the effective management of battery by transferring energy from the strong cell to the weak one until the cell voltages are equalized to the same level and therefore improving the additional charging capacity of battery. In particular, the cell aging of battery and power loss caused from energy transfer are considered. The performances of proposed active cell balancing system are evaluated by an electromagnetic transient program (EMTP) simulation. Then, the experimental prototype is implemented in hardware to verify the usefulness of proposed system.

Flapping운동의 최적공력성능을 위한 익형 연구 (A Study of an Airfoil for Optimal Aerodynamic Performance of Flapping Motion)

  • In this work, we propose a new idea of flapping airfoil design for optimal aerodynamic performance from detailed computational investigations of flow physics. Generally, flapping motion which is combined with pitching and plunging motion of airfoil, leads to complex flow features such as leading edge separation and vortex street. As it is well known, the mechanism of thrust generation of flapping airfoil is based on inverse Karman-vortex street. This vortex street induces jet-like flow field at the rear region of trailing edge and then generates thrust. The leading edge separation vortex can also play an important role with its aerodynamic performances. The flapping airfoil introduces an alternative propulsive way instead of the current inefficient propulsive system such as a propeller in the low Reynolds number flow. Thrust coefficient and propulsive efficiency are the two major parameters in the design of flapping airfoil as propulsive system. Through numerous computations, we found the specific physical flow phenomenon which governed the aerodynamic characteristics in flapping airfoil. Based on this physical insight, we could come up with a new kind of airfoil of tadpole-shaped and more enhanced aerodynamic performance.

정밀농업을 위한 트랙터-작업기의 최적 경로계획 (Optimal Path Planning of a Tractor-implement for Precision Farming)

  • Path planning for field operation of agricultural machinery is an indispensible part for precision farming or autonomous field operation. In this study, two algorithms (I, II) of generating a time-based shortest operation path were suggested to plan an optimal operation of an agricultural tractor-implement in a rectangular shaped field. The algorithms were based on modification of a minimum spanning tree algorithm, and applied for tractor-implement operations. the generated path was consisted of round operation and returning operation sections. The number of round operation was determined from the condition that a tractor can turn smoothly at headlands. The performance of the algorithms was evaluated by the calculation number for path generation and the total path length generated. Their stability was affected by the number of returning operation, but the algorithm II was considered to be more stable. In addition, the performances of the developed algorithms were compared with those of the conventional field operations at selected field sizes and shapes. The results showed that the algorithms could reduce field operation time greatly. For a 100m$\times$40m field, the reduced path length was 78m. The study also included an user interface program for implementing the algorithms and generating GPS coordinates that could be used in GIS softwares for precision farming.

  • The Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) speech codec is the mandatory for voice service in WCDMA systems. The AMR codec can be used efficiently to provide a balanced trade-off between the capacity and quality of voice by adjusting various service rates. In this paper, three ways of AMR mode allocation schemes on the downlink in WCDMA system are evaluated. To evaluate users satisfaction efficiently, new system performance measure and analytic models are proposed. The proposed analytic models can be applied to obtain optimal mode allocation ways while considering the system capacity and quality of voice. In numerical examples, the ways of finding optimal parameters are illustrated for the given traffic loads and the performances of three mode allocation schemes are compared.
