Multiple Finger Expansion for Blind Interference Canceller in the Presence of Subchip-Spaced Multipath Components

  • A blind interference canceller in the presence of subchipspaced multipath channels for direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) down-link system is considered. This technique is based on combining the existing blind interference canceller with a technique that involves assigning subchip-tap spacing to the Rake receiver. The proposed receiver minimizes the receiver’s output energy subject to a constraint in order to mitigate the multiple access interference (MAI) along each multipath component, and then suboptimally combining all the multipath components. Moreover, it is able to mitigate the mismatch problem when subchip-spaced multipath components arrive at the blind interference canceller. It is known that optimal combining techniques perform a decorrelation operation before combining, which requires both knowledge and computational complexity. In the following, we have adopted a simpler but suboptimum approach in the combining of the suppressed signals at the output of our proposed receiver. Computer simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed receiver to handle subchip-spaced multipath components and still suppresses MAI significantly.

  • 본 논문에서는 타일형 결맞음 빔 결합 시스템에서 렌즈의 수차가 빔 결합 효율 저하에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 분석하였다. 렌즈의 수차를 정량화하기 위하여 Zernike 다항식 방법을 사용하고, 프레넬 회절을 적용하여 빔 결합 상황에서 첨두강도의 변화를 수치적으로 시뮬레이션하였다. 본 논문의 결과는 향후, 실제 상황에서 주어진 렌즈의 수차에 의해 저하되는 빔 결합 효율에 대한 정량적인 예측과 또한, 실제 타일형 결맞음 빔 결합 시스템의 최적 설계에 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

RBFN을 이용한 Bayesian Equalizer에서의 비선형 다층 결합 기법 (Nonlinear Multilayer Combining Techniques in Bayesian Equalizer Using Radial Basis Function Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 optimal Bayesian equalization solution인 RBF(radial basis function)를 이용한 등화기 (RE)의 구조를 보다 단순화하고, 비선형 왜곡 등의 심각한 정보 신호의 손상에 대한 보상 능력을 향상시키기 위하여 비선형 다층 결합을 갖는 RBF측 이용한 등화기(RNE)를 새로이 제안한다. 기존의 RE는 RBF로 구성된 은닉층의 출력 값을 선형 결합하여 등화기 출력을 얻는다. 이와 달리 새로이 제안하는 RNE는 기존의 RE에서 RBF로 구성된 은닉층의 출력 값에 대한 결합 기법으로 perceptron을 이용한 비선형 다층 결합을 사용한다. 제안한 equalizer를 결정궤환 방식이 있는 경우와 없는 경우의 등화기로 각각 구현한다. 실험 결과 제안한 등화기는 선형 간섭이 존재하는 디지털 통신 시스템과 비선형 왜곡이 존재하는 자기기록 시스템에서보다 간단한 구조로 기존의 optimal Bayesian 등화기와 거의 같거나 우수한 비트 오류 화률 성능 및 MSE(men squared error) 수렴 특성을 나타내었다.

  • When a robot hand grasp an object, the number of ways to grasp it stably are infinite and thus an optimal grasp planning is needed to find the optimal grasp points for satisfying the objective of the given task. In this paper, we first define some grasp indices to evaluate the quality of each feasible grasp and then a weighted composite grasp index by combining all of the grasp indices is also defined. Next, we propose a method to find the optimal grasp points of the given object by comparing the defined weighted composite grasp index for each feasible grasp points. By simulation results, we show the effectiveness of the proposed optimal grasp planning method and also discuss the trend of each grasp index as the grasp polygon.

결합 예측 기법을 이용한 간헐 수요에 대한 수요예측 (Demand forecasting for intermittent demand using combining forecasting method)

  • In this research, we propose efficient demand forecasting scheme for intermittent demand. For this purpose, we first extensively analyze the drawbacks of the existing forecasting methods such as Croston method and Syntetos-Boylan approximation, then using these findings we propose the new demand forecasting method. Our goal is to develop forecasting method robust across many situations, not necessarily optimal for a limited number of specific situations. For this end, we adopt combining forecasting method that utilizes unbiased forecasting methods such as simple exponential smoothing and simple moving average. Various simulation results show that the proposed forecasting method performed better than the existing forecasting methods.

  • Waypoint guidance is a technique used to steer an autonomous vehicle along a desired trajectory. In this paper, a waypoint guidance algorithm for horizontal plane is derived by combining a line following guidance law and a turning guidance law. The line following guidance is derived based on LQR while the turning guidance is designed using rendzvous problem. Through simulation, the proposed method shows a good performance.

  • A method for obtaining optimal orbital maneuvers of a space vehicle has been developed by combining feedback linearization method with the elegance of the Lambert's theorem. To obtain solutions to nonlinear orbital maneuver problems. The full nonlinear equations of motion for space vehicle in polar coordinate system are transformed exactly into a controllable linear set in Brunovsky canonical form by using feedback linearization by choosing position vector as fully observable output vector. These equations are used to pose a linear optimal tracking problem with a solutions to Lambert's problem and a linear analytical solution of continuous low thrust problem as reference trajectories.

  • In order to approximate a nonlinear function, modular wavelet networks combining wavelet theory and modular concept based on single layer neural network have been proposed as an alternative to conventional wavelet neural networks and kind of modular network. Modular wavelet networks provide better approximating performance than conventional one. In this paper, we propose an effective method to construct an optimal modualr wavelet network using genetic algorithm. This is verified through experimental results.

Second order integral sliding mode observer and controller for a nuclear reactor

  • This paper presents an observer-based chattering free robust optimal control scheme to regulate the total power of a nuclear reactor. The non-linear model of nuclear reactor is linearized around a steady state operating point to obtain a linear model for which an optimal second order integral sliding mode controller is designed. A second order integral sliding mode observer is also designed to estimate the unmeasurable states. In order to avoid the chattering effect, the discontinuous input of both observer and controller are designed using the super-twisting algorithm. The proposed controller is realized by combining an optimal linear tracking controller with a second order integral sliding mode controller to ensure minimum control effort and robustness of the closed-loop system in the presence of uncertainties. The condition for the selection of gains of discontinuous control based on the super-twisting algorithm is derived using a strict Lyapunov function. Performance of the proposed observer based control scheme is demonstrated through non-linear simulation studies.
