Friction, Wear and Adhesion of HVOF Coating of Co-alloy Powder

  • HVOF thermal spray coating of micron size Co-alloy powder has been studied for the durability improvement of high velocity spindle (HVS). Optimal coating process of this system for the best surface properties is hydrogen flow rate 75 FMR, oxygen flow rate 38-42 FMR, feed rate 30 g/min at spray distance 5 inch. Friction coefficient (FC) and wear trace (WT) decrease increasing coating surface temperature from 25$^{\circ}$C to 538$^{\circ}$C due to the higher lubricant effects of the oxides at the higher temperature. At the study of adhesion of T800 coating on a light metal alloy Ti-6Al-4V (Ti64) tensile bond strength (TBS) and tensile fracture location (TFL) of Ti64/T800 are 8,740 psi and near middle of T800 coating respectively. This shows that adhesion of Ti64/T800 is higher than the cohesion strength (8,740 psi) of T800 coating. Therefore T800 coating is strongly advisable for the surface coating on HVS such as high speed air-bearing spindle.

Research on the Solution and Properties of Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ Electroless Composite Plating

  • In order to further improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the Ni-P coatings of electroless plating, electroless Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ composite deposits were prepared by adding some nano $Al_2O_3$ Particles in Ni-P plating bath. The bath composition and proproties were studied in this paper. The orthogonal test was applied in order to get the new composite solution, taking the initial stable potential as evaluation standard and considering the elements correlation at the same time. The processing parameters have been optimized by single factor experiment in which the depositing speed was chosen as the evaluation standard. The results showed that the process is stable and the composite Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ deposits werebright and smooth, whose hardness and corrosion resistance are much better than simple Ni-P coatings. Furthermore the surface appearance and structure of the composite Ni-P/n-$Al_2O_3$ coating were investigated by SEM and XRD method. It was proved that the coating surface is typical cystiform cells and its structure is amorphous. All test results ofcomposite coating showed that all various physical coating properties had been improved by adding nano-particles. The hardness of optimal coating is more than 600HV and increases to 1000HV after heat-treating, and its hardness is 20~50% higher than Ni-P coating. The rust points appeared in 200 hour by immersing the coating into the 10%HCl solution and the corrosive speed is $3{\times}10^{-3}mg/(cm^2{\cdot}h)$which was obtained after 300 hour. In the same condition Ni-P coating is $5.6{\times}10^{-3}mg/(cm^2{\cdot}h)$. The salt spray resistance of the layers can exceed 600h with the thickness $20{\mu}m$.

  • Electroless Ni-P coatings are widely used in the chemical, mechanical, and electronic industries because of their excellent wear and abrasion resistance. In this study, the effect of $TiO_2$ particles of composite coating was investigated. To improve the corrosion resistance, electroless $Ni-P-TiO_2$composite coating was studied by varying the $TiO_2$ content. The morphology and phase structure of $Ni-P-TiO_2$ composite coatings were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffractometry(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The result showed that $Ni-P-TiO_2$composite coating is composed of Ni, P, Ti and O. It exhibits an amorphous structure, high hardness and good corrosion resistance to the substrate. $Ni-P-TiO_2$ composite coatings have higher open circuit potential than that of the substrate, which obtained at $TiO_2$ content of 5.0 g/L optimal integrated properties.

  • Laminated LTCC components of high integrity, fabricated by thick film process, are applied to industrial field of IT technology along with miniaturization trend of electronic devices. Dispersion states were examined by several evaluation methods with MLS-22, which is one of commercial LTCC powders, to achieve optimal dispersion as basis for stable LTCC fabrication process. Slurry viscosity, surface roughness of dip-coated slide glass, sedimentaion of slurry, and SEM observation of dried surface were utilized with respective amount change of various commercial dispersants. Among these commercial dispersants, optimal dispersion state was obtained with 0.4 wt% of BYK-111, from the results of various evaluation methods.

순환골재의 성능향상을 위한 나노실리카졸의 코팅에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Nano Silica-Sol Coating for Improving Performance of Recycled Aggregate)

  • 본 논문은 기존 순환골재 생산공장에서 새로운 설비투자나 복잡한 처리공정을 거치지 않고 비교적 용이하게 순환골재의 품질을 개선할 수 있는 효과적인 코팅처리방법을 도출하고, 도출한 코팅처리방법으로 순환골재를 코팅처리하여 그 품질개선 효과를 확인하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 순환골재를 코팅하기 위하여 코팅처리용액중 하나인 실리케이트 용액을 경제성 있게 알맞은 농도로 희석하여 사용하였으며, 골재의 코팅방법을 달리하여 12가지 종류의 코팅골재에 대한 물성평가를 실시하였다. 또한 가장 좋은 물성을 나타낸 코팅골재를 사용하여 콘크리트를 제조하였다. 이상의 실험결과 골재를 코팅처리용액에 함침 및 건조를 반복하였을 때 골재의 품질이 가장 우수하게 나타났고, 다른 코팅방법 또한 물성이 코팅처리 전 골재보다는 향상되는 것으로 나타났으나, KS 기준에는 미치는 못하는 결과를 나타내었다. 또한, 가장 좋은 물성을 나타낸 골재를 가지고 콘크리트를 제조한 결과 설계기준강도를 만족시키는 압축강도가 측정되었으며, 설계기준강도 24MPa 이하의 도로시설물을 축조할 때 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

인쇄용 롤 제작을 위한 간접식 레이저 패터닝에 관한 연구 (Study on Indirect Laser Patterning for Manufacturing the Printing Roll)

  • On behalf of the existing semiconductor process, the electronic devices to low-cost mass production to mass print the way, the research for development of roll-to-roll printing process is actively underway. This study was performed in about the research on the manufacturing technology of the printing roll used in the printing process of electronic devices. The indirect laser imprinting technology was used to create printable roll, and after coating copper on the surface of steel and thereon after coating polymer, after removing the polymer on the surface of roll, the printable roll was made. The laser system and roll feeder system were constructed and control program was developed. We has found the optimal conditions to perform laser patterning experiments using a system developed and We can make the minimum line width of 18 ${\mu}m$.

다중 졸-겔 방법에 의해 증착된 ZnO 막의 형태적 및 구조적 특성평가 (Morphological and Structural Characterization of ZnO Films Deposited by Multiple Sol-Gel Methods)

  • 산화아연 막은 투명한 전도성 물질로써 다양한 분야의 광전자소자에 이용되고 있다. 그러므로 산화아연 막의 특성을 규명하는 것은 광전자소자의 성능을 높이는데 매우 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 산화아연 막을 용액공정 기반으로 제작하여 형태적, 구조적 특성을 평가하고자 한다. 구체적으로는 졸-겔 방법을 반복적으로 시행하여, 시행 횟수에 따른 산화아연 막의 물성의 변화를 관찰할 것이다. 일정한 용액 조건하에서, 5회의 반복적인 졸-겔 방법을 시행한 결과 결정화가 진행되는 것을 확인하였다. 7회 이상에서는 원소 구성 및 결정화도가 특정 값에 수렴하는 경향을 보였다. 최종적인 산화아연 막의 평균결정의 크기는 약 10.7 nm 정도로 계산되었다. 본 연구를 통해 최적의 결정화를 보이는 공정횟수는 7회였다. 본 연구 결과 및 방법론은 다양한 용액공정 변수를 가변시키면서 적용할 수가 있고 최적의 공정조건을 확립하는데 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

플라즈마 활성화 표면처리 공정과 나노클레이 분산 적층 코팅을 이용한 표면 기능성 코팅 박막 개발: 수분 및 산소 차단성이 우수한 투명 포장재 (Development of surface functional coating thin film utilizing combined processes of plasma activation surface treatment and nanoclay dispersion: In applications for transparent water vapor and oxygen barrier packaging films)

  • 수분 차단성이 우수한 투명 포장재용 배리어성 필름을 개발하기 위하여, 상온 진공하에서 플라즈마 활성화 표면처리 공정의 전처리 공정을 거친 후에, 나노클레이 분산 적층 코팅층을 형성한다. 접착력 향상을 위한 코팅 공정의 적절한 가교공정과 최적분산공정을 통한 커플링 첨가제를 최적화하는 데 중점을 두었다. 기능성 코팅 박막에 대하여 분석한 결과는 수분 투과도 10 g/m2/24 hrs(ASTM F-1249) 이하, 산소 투과도 30 cc/m2/24 hrs(ASTM D3985) 이하임을 보여주었다. 이는 종래의 무처리 필름의 10배 이상 수분 차단성이 우수한 투명 포장용 표면기능성 코팅박막에 해당됨을 보였다. 아울러, 투명가스 차단 필름의 두께는 0.1 mm 이내이며, 투명가스차단 복합층은 2개의 층으로 구성되었다. PET 박막 계면 특성연구에서, FT-IR의 실험분석에 의하면 R DS 1.125 %에서 반응 활성도가 최적화임을 나타내고 있다.

  • As DLC coating possesses such features as, high hardness, high elasticity, abrasion resistance and chemical stability, there have been exerted continuous efforts in research works in a variety of fields, and this technology has also been applied widely to industrial areas. In this research work, the optimal grinding condition was identified using Microlens Process Machine in order to contribute to the development of aspheric glass which is to be used for mobile phone module having 2 megapixel and $2.5{\times}$ zoom, and mold core (WC) was manufactured having performed ultra-precision machining and effects of DLC coating on shape accuracy(P-V) of mold core and surface roughness(Ra) as well were measured and evaluated.

음극 아크 이온플레이팅법으로 코팅된 TiN 박막의 수명결정요인에 관한 연구 (A study on life decision factors of TiN films coated by Cathode Arc ion Plating Method)

  • The life time of cutting tool was studied in the relation with the properties of TiN coating tools. The purpose of this study is to compare the cutting conditions of the TiN coated tools with those of the non-coated tools and to find out the optimal cutting condition of the TiN coated tool. The coated tools were prepared by the sputtering process at $4$\times$10^{-3}$Torr. When the cutting speed is increased 22.2% from 90m/min, the limited life of coating bite was decreased by 60.61%, but non-coating bite was decreased by 64.05%. In the tool lifetime equation of the coated tools "a"(exponent of feed rate) was not much changed in comparison with that of the non-coated tools but "n" (exponent of tool′s life) was increased by 9.3% and "b" (exponent of cutting depth) was increased by 2.4%. It was thought to be that TiN coated tools was used for higher cutting speed than non-coated tools to improve the lifetime of the coated tools.
