Design parameters which used to analyze the stress distribution on the tank wall were defined to develop the propellant tank and obtain optimal values. 1/4 modeling of total tank was selected to calculate the stress distribution with respect to the variation of the support lug location and the tank wall thickness and 1/2 modeling was selected for the stress distributions with respect to the variation of fuel outlet location. Actually, 350psi was applied as static load and 12 gravity as a dynamic load during launching on the internal tank wall. The structural analysis was done with respect to attaching condition of the tank in the satellite. Also the effect of the variation of the propellant outlet location from $0^{\cire}$ to $25^{\cire}$ on the stress distribution was investigated. The equivalent stress distribution and optimal parameters induced from analysis results of the each condition will be used as the fundamental data to design the propellant tank.
This study shows functionally graded material structural topology optimization under buckling constraints. The SIMP (Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization) material model is used and a method of moving asymptotes is also employed to update topology design variables. In this study, the quadrilateral element is applied to compute buckling load factors. Instead of artificial density properties, functionally graded materials are newly assigned to distribute optimal topology materials depending on the buckling load factors in a given design domain. Buckling load factor formulations are derived and confirmed by the resistance of functionally graded material properties. However, buckling constraints for functionally graded material topology optimization have not been dealt with in single material. Therefore, this study aims to find the minimum compliance topology optimization and the buckling load factor in designing the structures under buckling constraints and generate the functionally graded material distribution with asymmetric stiffness properties that minimize the compliance. Numerical examples verify the superiority and reliability of the present method.
The impacts of EV charging demands on power system such as increased peak demands may be developed by means of modeling a stochastic distribution of charging and a demand dispatch calculation. Optimization processes are proposed to determine optimal demand distribution portions so that charging costs and demands can be managed optimally. There are two optimization methods which have different effects on the outcome. These focus either on the Electric vehicle customer side (cost optimization) or the System Operator side (Load-weighted optimization).

The authors have been discussed the optimal voltage regulation method and on-line real time method using artificial neural networks in the distribution system interconnected with Distributed Generation and Storage(DSG) systems. However, these methods have difficulty in dealing with the random load variations and operation characteristics of a number of DSG systems. To overcome these problems, this paper shows the basic concepts of smart grid system which is considered as one of the power delivery system in the near future and presents an evaluation method on the impacts of customer voltages by the operation of smart grid system. The smart grid system can change the system configuration in a flexible manner by using the static switches and offer the different power qualities in power services through the power quality control centers.
Many applications in mechanical design involve elastic bodies coming into contact under the action of the applied load. The distribution of the contact pressure throughout the contact interface plays an important role in the performance of the contact system. In many applications, it is desirable to minimize the maximum contact pressure or to have an approximately uniform contact pressure distribution. Such requirements can be attained through a proper design of the initial surfaces of the contacting bodies. This problem involves a combination of two disciplines, contact mechanics and shape optimization. Therefore, the objective of the present paper is to develop an integrated procedure capable of evaluating the optimal shape of contacting bodies. The adaptive incremental convex programming method is adopted to solve the contact problem, while the augmented Lagrange multiplier method is used to control the shape optimization procedure. Further, to accommodate the manufacturing requirements, surface parameterization is considered. The proposed procedure is applied to a couple of problems, with different geometry and boundary conditions, to demonstrate the efficiency and versatility of the proposed procedure.
In this paper, a new algorithm of optimal voltage control is proposed for the Distribution Automation System (DAS) based on constants of four terminal network modeling. In the proposed method, the voltage profiles along feeders are estimated from the measurement of the current and power factor by a Feeder Remote Terminal Unit (FRTU) installed at each node. Whenever the voltage profile violates the restriction, the voltage control strategy is applied to keep the voltage levels along the feeders within the pre-specified range through the modification and coordination of the transformer under-load tap changers (ULTC), step voltage regulator (SVR), as well as shunt condenser. In the case studies, the estimation and control of the voltages have been testified in a radial distribution system with 11 nodes.

This paper presents the novel voltage control method in power distribution system with distributed generators. The voltage in distribution systems is regulated by Under Load Tap Changer(ULTC) of substation and pole transformer of primary feeders. Recently, Step Voltage Regulator(SVR) is getting located at distribution feeders to regulate effectively voltage of primary feeders. But the effectiveness of SVR decreases due to independent operation between SVR and ULTC, and also the existing Line Drop Compensator(LDC) method considering the distributed generators may be not able to regulate the proper voltage in a permissible range. Thus, this paper presents a optimal voltage control algorithm of SVR by using the secondary voltage data of main transformer in substation.

The management of power factor(PF) in the distribution line is treated according to the measurement a month about the feeder unit at the substation. In Korea, we have not researched into power factor in distribution system due to it's less weight. The reactive power in advanced countries is controlled automatically by the compensative condenser switch on/off under the monitoring. This paper first presents the optimal condenser position and proper capacity by lagrangue factor ${\lambda}_{Q}$ which is the line loss index about reactive power unit. Therefore, the largest ${\lambda}_{Q}$ node is the condenser injection point and we find out the best condenser capacity when the line loss is saturated by the moderation of condenser volume. By this method, we suggest 0.6% uprising PF by injection of 15 kVA condenser. Additionally, PF is analysed into 5 areas; large city, middle city, small city, farm village, fishing village by the use of Power Platform which is classified the same concept of the low load management in KEPCO. Two feeders of each area are selected by the worst results of PF in specified areas.

This paper deals with the optimal on-line real time voltage regulation methods in power distribution systems interconnected with the Distributed Generation(DG) systems. In order to deliver suitable voltage to as many customers as possible, the optimal sending voltage should be decided by the effective voltage regulation method by using artificial neural networks to consider the rapid load variation and random operation characteristics of DG systems. The results from a case study show that the proposed method can be a practical tool for the voltage regulation in distribution systems including many DG systems.
Due to an explosive growth in services running in different datacenters, there is need for service selection and routing to deliver user requests to the best service instance. In current solutions, it is generally the client that must first select a datacenter to forward the request to before an internal load-balancer of the selected datacenter can select the optimal instance. An optimal selection requires knowledge of both network and server characteristics, making clients less suitable to make this decision. Information-Centric Networking (ICN) research solved a similar selection problem for static data retrieval by integrating content delivery as a native network feature. We address the selection problem for services by extending the ICN-principles for services. In this paper we present Queue and Latency, a network-driven service selection algorithm which maps user demand to service instances, taking into account both network and server metrics. To reduce the size of service router forwarding tables, we present a statistical method to approximate an optimal load distribution with minimized router state required. Simulation results show that our statistical routing approach approximates the average system response time of source-based routing with minimized state in forwarding tables.
