  • In this paper, was designed Algorithm Brent. this Algorithm can be used in the medical optical system. Optical signals are transmitted using optical fibers and integrated Optic. Developed Algorithm finds the maximum of the transmitted signal intensity. Optical system is made for Laser-Diode, HeNe-Laseer, controller for stepping motor, glass fiber and integrated Optic, etc. In this paper, two algorithms were investigated.

  • The technology convergence of television, communication, and computing devices enables the rich social and entertaining experience through Smart TV in personal living space. The powerful smart TV computing platform allows to provide various user interaction interfaces like IR remote control, web based control, body gesture based control, etc. The presently used smart TV interaction user control methods are not efficient and user-friendly to access different type of media content and services and strongly required advanced way to control and access to the smart TV with easy user interface. This paper propose the optical wireless communication (OWC) based remote controller design for Smart TV using smart device Flashlights. In this approach, the user smart device act as a remote controller with touch based interactive smart device application and transfer the user control interface data to smart TV trough Flashlight using visible light communication method. The smart TV built-in camera follows the optical camera communication (OCC) principle to decode data and control smart TV user access functions according. This proposed method is not harmful as radio frequency (RF) radiation does it on human health and very simple to use as well user does need to any gesture moves to control the smart TV.

  • Touch-enabled technology is increasingly being accepted as a main communication interface between human and computers. However, conventional touchscreen technologies, such as resistive overlay, capacitive overlay, and SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave), are not cost-effective for large screens. As an alternative to the conventional methods, we introduce a newly emerging method, an optical imaging touchscreen which is much simpler and more cost-effective. Despite its attractive benefits, optical imaging touchscreen has to overcome some problems, such as heavy computational complexity, intermittent ghost points, and over-sensitivity, to be commercially used. Therefore, we designed a hardware controller for signal processing and multi-coordinate computation, and proposed Infrared-blocked DA(Dark Area) manipulation as a solution. While the entire optical touch control took 34ms with a 32-bit microprocessor, the designed hardware controller can manage 2 valid coordinates at 200fps and also reduce energy consumption of infrared diodes from 1.8Wh to 0.0072Wh.

Enhanced Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm in Ethernet Passive Optical Networks

  • As broadband access is evolving from digital subscriber lines to optical access networks, Ethernet passive optical networks (EPONs) are considered a promising solution for next generation broadband access. The point-to-multipoint topology of EPONs requires a time-division multiple access MAC protocol for upstream transmission. In this paper, we propose a new enhanced dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm with fairness called EFDBA for multiple services over EPONs. The proposed algorithm is composed of a fairness counter controller and a fairness system buffer in the optical line terminal. The EFDBA algorithm with fairness can provide increased capability and efficient resource allocation in an EPON system. In the proposed EFDBA algorithm, the optical line termination allocates bandwidth to the optical network units in proportion to the fairness weighting counter number associated with their class and queue length. The proposed algorithm provides efficient resource utilization by reducing the unused remaining bandwidth made by idle state optical network units.

  • 공작기계의 기본은 POSITION ACCURACY이다. XYZ 3축 직선운동 복합으로 거의 모든 형태를 표현할 수 있다. 3축 각각의 직선운동만 정확하면 정밀한 절삭가공이 된다는 뜻이다. 직선운동의 정확도를 기하기 위하여 볼스크류 를 쓰고 기아도 그라인딩을 한다. POSITION ACCURACY는 NC-CONTROLLER를 사용하면서 극대로 증가한다. 이것이 공작기계의 원리이다. 항공기의 조립은 공작기계가 갖고 있는 X Y Z 3축의 복합만으로는 STROKE가 짧아 표현할 수 없는 상당히 긴 STROKE이면서 공간의 위치가 요구된다. 이를 찾는 방법은 지극히 정밀한 LENS를 동원한 OPTICAL TOOL을 쓰는 것이 가장 용이하다. 항곡부품의 위치도 OPTICAL TOOL을 사용하는 것이 가장 용이하다. 물론 건축용 OPTICAL TOOL보다 항공용은 몇배 더 정밀하다.

  • The position control accuracy of a robot arm is significantly deteriorated when a long arm robot is operated at a high speed. In this case, the robot arm must be modeled as a flexible structure, not a rigid one, and its control system should be designed with its elastic modes taken into account. In this paper, the tip position control scheme of a one-link flexible manipulator using 2-DOF controller with sliding mode is presented. The robot consists of a flexible arm manufactured with a thin aluminium plate, an AC servo motor with a harmonic drive for speed reduction, an optical encoder and a CCD camera as a vision sensor for on-line measuring the tip deflection of the flexible m. Simulation and experimental results of the flexible manipulator with a proposed controller are provided to show the effectiveness of the controller.

  • This thesis deals with study and implementation of Fuzzy controller with observer which can enhance the path-tracking performance of optically guided AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The AGV in this thesis is differential drive type and has front-side and rear-side optical sensors. which can identify the guiding path. This controller has excellent disturbance rejection and therefore is advantageous when it is instructed to follow straight paths. This fuzzy controller with observer enhances transient performance of the controller is demonstrated by simulation and is compared with that of individual loop controller

  • This paper proposed a fuzzy logic cross coupled controller which can enhance the path tracking performance of optically guided AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The AGV follows the guide path, it cannot be avoid the deviation from the path due to the inevitable error and the deviation must be corrected. Optically guided AGV used in industrial area is controlled by On-Off controller generally, the experimental AGV has three optical sensors in front body. In this structure, we could not know the leaving distance accurately and steering angle from the guided line, so AGV could not be controlled properly with conventional controller in the case of increasing or decreasing velocity. If we mount additional sensors the AGV, we could know the leaving distance and steering angle from the guided line and proper error compensating methode can be applied. But because cost of sensors are high, the cost of total system is increasing. So, in this paper, to improve the tracking performance of AGV which has the minimum number of sensors and fuzzy logic cross coupled controller is proposed. Some simulations and experimental results are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed controller.

  • We present the characterization of the performance of the next-generation controller (SDSU Gen III) for BOAO Echelle Spectrograph CCD (BOES CCD) at the Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory. The current controller (SDSU Gen II) of the BOES CCD will be upgraded to SDSU Gen III to provide a more stabilized operation. To assess the performance of the new controller (e.g., conversion gain, full well capacity, S/N), we obtain various types of calibration images (e.g., bias, flat, science images of standard stars). Based on those datasets, we find that the overall performance of the new controller is somewhat comparable to that of the old controller if the slow mode is adopted for the readout. This may demonstrate that the new controller can be successfully substituted for the old controller without a substantial loss of performance. However, further analysis with a large dataset obtained in various observational conditions is necessary to confirm our results.
