  • In this paper some procedures are given whereby an analytic solution may be found for the Riccati differential equation and algebraic Riccati equation in optimal control theory. Some iterative techniques for solving these equations are presented. Rate of convergence and initialization of the iterative processes are discussed.

  • The design of a control language of mobile robot system for autonomous operations is explained in this paper. The on-board controller consists of one-chip microcontrollerbased system and communicates with the host computer. It decodes the received commands and controls the mobile robot. The control language is basically of interpreter type and is consisted of motion primitives and sensing primitives. The combinations of primitives are constructed for mobile robot operations.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an inventory control policy for the system that carries a single item with a multiple demand classes, when the demand is Poisson distributed random variable. The inventory control process includes the process of determining the reorder point, and the process of inventory control during the lead time. The goal of the optimization process is to achieve the service level of each demand class as well as the system-wide total service level at a preset desired service level while sustaining a minimum average inventory.

  • In this paper, we introduce and analyze a feedback control model of TCP/AQM dynamics. Then, we propose the Pro-active Queue Management (PAQM) mechanism, which can provide proactive congestion avoidance and control using an adaptive congestion indicator and a control function for wide range of traffic environments. The PAQM stabilizes the queue length around a desired level while giving smooth and low packet loss rates independent of the traffic load level under a wide range of traffic environment. The PAQM outperforms other AQM algorithms such as Random Early Detection (RED) [1] and PI-controller [2]

  • FMS is the system which improves the productivity by making production lines flexible. FMS is composed of manufacturing system, material handling system, and software to control them. FMS is a complicate system; therefore, computer is required to control FMS efficiently. In this paper the concepts of FMS are shortly reviewed and the computer software and programming strategy to control FMS are presented.
