  • Delivering clear requirements of the military in the defense acquisition process is a key activity for successful weapon acquisition. In the field of defense, Operational Requirements Documents (ORDs) are prepared to derive and deliver the requirements of the military. In this study, we compare and analyze the form and content of the recent domestic ORD with reference to the US Department of Defense (DoD) ORD. As a result of the study, it is found that the domestic ORD form needs to be supplemented with in accordance with the purpose of the operation, while the requirement parameter, which is a core item of ORD, is insufficient. In order to address these issues, detailed contents of the ORD form suitable for the purpose of this study are presented. Also, we provide clear definitions, explanations, and examples of the operational system's key performance parameters and suggest ways to clearly communicate the requirements of the military.

  • In order to evaluate the performance of TAS applied to the hybrid vehicle of the soft belt driven, acceleration performance and fuel consumption performance is to be superior to the existing vehicle. The key components of belt driven TAS(Torque Assist System), such as the engine, the motor and the battery, The key components of the driven belt TAS, such as the engine, the motor, and the battery, have a significant impact on fuel consumption performance of the vehicle. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency at the point of view based on the overall system, the study of the power distribution algorithm for controlling the main source powers is necessary. In this paper, we propose the power distribution algorithm, applied the homogeneous analysis method in terms of fuel equivalent, for minimizing the fuel consumption. We have confirmed that the proposed algorithm is contribute to improving the fuel consumption performance satisfied the constraints considering the vehicle status information and the required power through the control parameters to minimize the fuel consumption of the engine. The optimization process of the proposed driving strategy can reduce the trial and error in the research and development process and monitor the characteristics of the control parameter quickly and accurately. Therefore, it can be utilized as a way to derive the operational strategy to minimize the fuel consumption.

  • We performed a numerical modeling study of thermodynamic and multiphase fluid flow processes associated with underground compressed air energy storage (CAES) in a lined rock cavern (LRC). We investigated air tightness performance by calculating air leakage rate of the underground storage cavern with concrete linings at a comparatively shallow depth of 100 m. Our air-mass balance analysis showed that the key parameter to assure the long-term air tightness of such a system was the permeability of both concrete linings and surrounding rock mass. It was noted that concrete linings with a permeability of less than $1.0{\times}10^{-18}\;m^2$ would result in an acceptable air leakage rate of less than 1% with the operational pressure range between 5 and 8 MPa. We also found that air leakage could be effectively prevented and the air tightness performance of underground lined rock cavern is enhanced if the concrete lining is kept at a higher moisture content.
