NCW환경에서 지휘통제체계(C4I) 상호운용성 시험평가체계 개선방안 연구 (A Study on Improvement Method of Interoperability Test & Evaluation Approach for the C4I Systems in NCW Environment)

  • The most essential ROC(requirement operational capability) in order to assure the effectiveness of the C4I Systems in NCW Environments is the seamless and stable interoperability between systems. The U.S. Armed Forces that perceived the importance of interoperability, prepared the framework to apply from the proposal of requirement to every step of acquisition process. The Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff is also developing a similar system in order to assure the interoperability between command control(C4I) systems. In the paper, we specify the needs of standardization of test systems and international trends on the technology, and propose an interoperability test & evaluation system based on a standardization conformity method to improve the interoperability test & evaluation for the C4I systems in NCW environments. Finally we show an example of the implementation of the test system and its application to C4I systems to verify the proposed test system.

  • Failure testing is a test that verifies that the system is operating in accordance with failure response requirements. A typical failure test approaches the operating system by identifying and testing system problems caused by unexpected errors during the operational phase. In this paper, we study how to evaluate these Failure at the software development stage. Evaluate the probability of failure due to code changes through the complexity and duplication of the code, and evaluate the probability of failure due to exceptional situations with bugs and test coverage extracted from static analysis. This paper studies the possibility of failure based on the code quality of software development stage.

  • The purposes of this study is to identify the problems arising from current Test & Evaluation process of the naval ship acquisition program and to suggest methods to increase the acquisition efficiency. Considering that the present rule of developmental test &evaluation(DT&E) and operational test & evaluation(OT&E) has caused an inefficiency effect on the acquisition procedures due to the limited practices on it, the DT&E and OT&E procedures through test & evaluation master plan(TEMP) is proposed based on the selective practices of the defense instruction articles. Also, considering characteristics of naval ship acquisitions, efficient procedure systems are derived through case analysis results by comparing each performances of the system. The suggested methods are able to meet the requirements of the changed acquisition environments and also increase efficiency of acquisition systems by adoption of DT&E and OT&E combined test scheme.

초기단계 함정설계시 설계영역탐색의 효과적 적용 (Effective Application of Design Space Exploration in the Very Early Naval Ship Design)

  • The early-phase naval ship design demands requirements synthesis rather than design synthesis, which conducts engineering design for several domains on a detailed level. Requirements synthesis focuses on creating a balanced set of required operational capabilities satisfying user's needs and concept of operations. Requirements are evolved from capability based languages to function based language by statistical exploration and engineering design which are derived in the following order: concept alternative, concept baseline, initial baseline and functional baseline. The early-phase naval ship design process can be divided into three passes: concept definition, concept exploration and concept development. Main activities and outcomes in each pass are shortly presented. Concept definition is the first important step that produces a concept baseline through extensive design space exploration promptly. Design space exploration applies a statistical approach to explore design trends of existing ships and produce feasible design range corresponding to concept alternative. It further helps naval systems engineers and operational researchers by inducing useful responses to user and stakeholders' questions at a sufficient degree of confidence and success in the very early ship design. The focus of this paper is on the flow of design space exploration, and its application to a high-speed patrol craft. 변형률-수명 평가기법을 이용한 Al/CFRP 하이브리드 적층 복합재의 피로수명 측정 (The Estimation of Fatigue Life for Al/CFRP Hybrid Laminated Composites using the Strain-Life Method)

  • Hybrid laminated Al/carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) composites are attracting considerable attention from industries such as aerospace and automobiles owing to their excellent specific strength and specific rigidity. However, when this material is used to fabricate high-pressure fuel storage containers subjected to repeated fatigue loads, fatigue life evaluation for the working load is regulated as an important criterion for operational safety and ease of maintenance. Among the existing evaluation methods for these vessels, the burst test and the hydraulic repeat test require expensive facilities. Thus, the present study aims to develop an improved fatigue life test for Al/CFRP laminated hybrid composites. The test specimen was manufactured using a curved mold considering the shape of a type III high-pressure storage container. The strain-life method was used for fatigue life evaluation, and the life was predicted based on the transition life. The results indicate that the more complex the CFRP stacking sequence, the longer is the transition life. This test method is expected to be useful for ensuring the fatigue safety and economy of hybrid laminate composites.

한국 여자 군인 방한복의 인간공학적 패턴 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Ergonomic Patterns for Korean Female Soldier's Winter Jacket)

  • This study developed an ergonomic Korean female military winter jacket and (inner and outer) pattern in in order to increase dimension and operational suitability for military missions. First we developed the 1st development pattern and sample jackets with improved dimensions and operational suitability based on a previous investigation of fitness and motion suitability of Korean female military winter jackets (inner and outer) and motion suitability by a wearing test. The evaluation result of fitness for the 1st development pattern were over 4.0 (5.0 Likert scale) for both the inner and outer jacket, a positive result and the result of motion suitability were over 3.5 in both the inner and outer jacket except for the neck front part by collar height. However, we did not modify the collar height because decreases in warmth and military regulations. We also evaluated appearance by experts that showed good results in both the inner and outer jacket. Finally, we developed a final pattern based on evaluation results and military regulations. Existing military uniform research was conducted mainly on male soldiers. Beginning with this study, we expect to expand research on the development of military uniform patterns suitable for a female soldier body type.

  • Link-16은 미 해군 및 공군, NATO에 합동 상호운용성을 제공하는 데이터링크로 국내 무기체계에서도 운용되고 있다. 현재 Link-16 운용을 위한 시험환경, 전술모의훈련 및 상호운용성 검증 시험은 해외 SW 및 도구를 통해 전적으로 의존하고 있다. 따라서 Link-16 기반의 운용환경시험 도구의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 Link-16 해외도구 기능 분석을 통해 Link-16 네트워크 운용성능분석 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 또한 연동을 위한 SIMPLE 표준 인터페이스를 구현하였다. Link-16 네트워크 운용성능분석을 위한 기능모델은 사전분석, 실시간 운용분석, 사후분석 기능모델로 구성된다. 각 기능모델에 대한 시험은 해외 SW 및 도구와 SIMPLE 연동을 통해서 수행하였다. Link-16 네트워크 운용성능분석 시뮬레이터를 통해 해외 SW를 대체하게 된다면 우리 군에 맞는 전술훈련 및 네트워크 운용성능분석, 운용(시나리오)검증을 수행할 수 있을 것이다.

지게차의 주관적 음질평가와 Zwicker 음질지수의 상관관계 및 전달경로분석법(OTPA)을 활용한 음질 기여도 분석 (A Study on Contribution Analysis using Operational Transfer Path Analysis based on the Correlation between Subjective Evaluation and Zwicker's Sound Quality Index for Sound Quality of Forklifts)

  • Recently, drivers have begun to regard comfort in the cabin as one of the most important factors in construction equipment like forklifts. Accordingly, it has become more important to design a forklift cabin with a better sound quality as well as lower sound level, which can make a driver more comfortable. In this paper, the correlation between subjective evaluation and Zwicker's sound quality index was analyzed through a blind test by a few workers in forklifts and other construction equipment in several countries. Correlation analysis showed that Loudness and Sharpness were ranked in sequence, and tendencies were different from country to country. Also, contribution analysis for Loudness and Sharpness using operational transfer path analysis (OTPA), which is widely used in the field of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), was performed. However, Loudness and Sharpness cannot be used with OTPA directly because there are no linear relationships between the sources and receivers. In this paper, both are calculated by applying the DIN 45631 method with a contribution rate (%) of 1/3 Octave Sound Pressure Level by OTPA method in addition to considering spectral masking.

  • Several tests are performed to evaluate road booming noise. Baseline test delivers the information of road noise characteristics. Coupling effect between structure and acoustics is obtained from the mode shapes and the natural frequencies by the modal test. Equivalent stiffness at joint areas between chassis and car-body system can be determined by the input point inertance test. Noise sensitivity of body mounting point of a chassis part can be obtained from the noise transfer function test with input point inertance test. Operational deflection shape makes us analyze the actual vibration modes of the chassis system under actual loading and find noise sources very easily. finally, the transfer function analysis is used to identify noise paths through the chassis system. However, all of the tests above mentioned must be performed to evaluate road booming noise. The objectives and the procedures of the tests are described in this paper. Also, the guideline for efficient road noise evaluation test can be found.

  • LTV(Light Tactical Vehicle) operating in our military requires higher levels of performance and durability to withstand harsher conditions than general vehicles, as they must travel on both rough-train and off-road as well as on public roads. Recently, LTV development is demanded a variety of test evaluations in order to satisfy ROC (Required Operational Capability) by the military requirement. However, there is no informations of driving test course for satisfying the durability performance of Korean tactical vehicle. Therefore, this study aims to provide basic data to establish reliable drive test conditions by analyzing the main maneuvering test site at the domestic and foreign country in order to select the representative drive course. These studies will provide a more scientific and systematic evaluation solution for the development of tactical vehicles, and can be effectively used to establish a certified system for military vehicle test evaluation in the future
