This paper examines the impact of mergers on the financial performance of the Jordanian banking sector. This paper applies the financial approaches in analysing the effects of mergers on Jordanian banks' performance for two the periods: four years pre-merger and four years' post-merger for the period from 2001 to 2009. The sample of the study solely contains the case of the merger of the Jordan Ahli Bank (AHLI bank) with Philadelphia Bank in 2005. Data are tested for normality using the Shapiro-Wilk Test and Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The financial ratios and a statistical technique as a Mann-Whitney U test were used to assess the significant differences in the financial performance of the selected banks pre- and post-merger by investigating the performance-related financial ratio groups that are expressed by leverage, liquidity, efficiency, and cash flow ratio. The results show that there is an insignificant improvement in the ratios of AHLI bank in the period after the merger, except for the superior result provided by this study indicating that the leverage ratios improved significantly. The reason for the insignificant improvement in financial ratios may be that the post-merger period corresponds to the period of the global financial crisis that began in 2007.

교육인적자원부에서는 학교간의 자원공유와 상호대차 기반 조성, 단위 학교 데이터베이스 구축의 효율성 도모, 단위 학교 목록 데이터 입력 및 시스템 관리 부담 경감 등을 목적으로 인터넷기반 학교도서관 정보시스템(IBSLIS)을 구축 운영 중에 있다. IBSLIS 정보시스템을 성공적으로 구축, 운영하기 위해서는 시스템의 기능과 운영 실태를 분석함으로써 향후 개선 및 발전 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 2001년도에 시범적으로 설치한 부산시교육청의 IBSLIS 정보시스템을 평가함으로써 향후 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다.

PURPOSES: The operational characteristics of roundabouts are generally influenced by location as well as traffic volume. The goal of this study is to develop urban and rural roundabout accident models and to discuss safety improvement guidelines based on the model. METHODS : To analyze accidents, count data models are utilized in this study. This study used accident data from 2010 to 2013 for 56 roundabouts collected from the Traffic Accident Analysis System (TASS) of Road Traffic Authority. Poisson and negative binomial regression models were developed for this study using NLOGIT 4.0. RESULTS : The main results are as follows. First, the hypotheses that there are distributional differences in the number of accidents and injuries/fatalities among rural and urban roundabouts were accepted. Second, Poisson and negative binomial regression accident models, which were all statistically significant, were developed. Seven independent variables, which were statistically significant, were adopted. Third, the common variable of models was evaluated to be traffic volume. CONCLUSIONS : This study developed two negative binomial roundabout accident models and suggested some accident reduction strategies. The results are expected to give some implications to the safety improvement of roundabout.

본 연구에서는 김수철 사건이후 각계각층의 전문가들의 노력 및 정부의 재발 방지를 다짐하며 학교 안전강화 대책을 연이어 내 놓았지만 외부로부터의 위험은 감소하지 않고 있는 실정이다. 외부로부터의 위험을 예방하고 최소한으로 피해를 줄이기 위해서는 가장 기초적인 안전대책의 강구와 인식의 변화를 통한 안전대책의 재평가와 개선방안이 시급하다. 따라서 학교 안전대책 방안을 위하여 현재 실시하고 있는 배움터지킴이제도와 학교 보안관제도 그리고 더 나아가 경비업체와의 협력과 인력의 확충을 통하여 학교 안전을 도모하고 외부인이 자유롭게 출입을 하지 못하도록 CPTED의 기법을 활용하고 학교 외곽에 외부인이 출입이 자유롭지 못하도록 담장을 설치하고 실제적인 감시와 통한 범죄예방과 대처를 위한 CCTV의 확충과 장치를 보완을 통하여 각각의 안전대책 방안을 효과적이고 통합적으로 운용할 수 있도록 한다.

공병부대에 보유하고 있는 지뢰탐지기는 다른 장비와는 다르게 공병 병과의 전투 및 전투지원 임무 수행에 기본이 되는 장비로 명확한 개념 정립이 미흡하고 각 부대의 보유 장비는 제조회사와 모델이 다양하고 구형으로 고장이 빈번하여 임무 수행에 많은 제한을 주고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 지뢰탐지기 현실태를 분석 하여 운용 개념을 정립하기 위해 공병부대에서 보유하고 있는 지뢰탐지기의 운용실태를 파악하고 의견을 수렴한 후 토의를 거처 개선방안을 정립하여 미래 작전환경 변화에 부합되게 개발 한 후 이를 전력화 하는데 있다.

The work environment of locomotive cabs has long been an important issue in the design of railload systems since it is quite critical in terms of system's operational safety. It is getting more attention as the running speed of the trains goes up these days. To this end, this paper describes how to systematically construct a DB for the requirements set in the course of the improvement process for the aforementioned cab work environment. As a solution approach, we have adopted the requirement architecture concept to cover the whole activities required to do such as in requirements generation, DB construction, change management, and traceability management. Specifically, based on the requirement architecture framework a requirement process to collect requirements for improvement is discussed, and the guide lines are suggested for verification and validation of the developed requirements. In addition, a base schema and requirements templates are developed, which will be used in generating requirements and constructing a DB. Finally, it is demonstrated how the requirements DB for locomotive cabs can be constructed using a computer-aided tool in an integrated fashion.

차량에 사용되는 주엔진은 부하영역 전체에서 효율을 증가시키기 위해 커먼레일 디젤엔진을 사용하고 있다. 그러나, 발전기용 엔진은 아직도 기계적 구성엔진으로 캠으로 구동되는 연료분사밸브가 사용되어지고 있다. 또한, 발전기용 엔진 대부분은 50%이하의 부분부하가 적용되고 있다. 따라서, 전부하에 세팅된 차량용 디젤엔진을 부분부하에서 효율적인 운전을 하기 위해서는 연료분사시기 재조정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 시설물에 사용되는 엔진발전기의 운용특성을 파악하여 연료분사시기를 재조정함으로서 부분부하 연료소비율을 개선시킨 결과를 연구하고자 한다.

발사체 추진시스템에서 CC(Combustion Chamber) 산화제 개폐밸브는 액체산소를 연소기로 공급 및 차단함으로써 연소를 개시 및 중단시킬 뿐만 아니라, 정상운영 상태에서는 연소기 내 안정된 연소가 가능하도록 일정한 유량의 액체산소를 공급한다. 개발이 완료된 산화제 개폐밸브 EM(Engineering Model)의 주요 구성부의 성능향상을 위하여 전산구조해석을 이용한 중간플랜지, 밸브 입구의 립 부분의 설계 변경을 수행하였으며, 성능 시험을 통하여 설계변경에 의한 성능 향상을 최종확인 하였다.

본 논문은 비디오 영상의 워터마킹과 MPEG4를 적용한 DVR 시스템 구현 및 실시간 처리 속도 향상에 관한 연구이다. DVR 실시간 처리를 위해 DSP 프로세서와 데이터 전송은 DSP의 QDMA를 사용하였고, 보안을 위해 워터마킹과 상용성을 위해 MPEG4 압축기법을 적용한다. 알고리듬은 연산시 프로세서의 내부 메모리에서 처리하는 구조와 반복 연산을 하는 부분을 DSP 프로세서 구조에 적합한 형태로 최적화 하여 구현 한다. 실험 결과, 구현된 DVR 시스템에서 D1 크기의 동영상을 워터마킹과 MPEG4 알고리즘 연산 결과 프레임 당 연산에 소요되는 처리 시간이 12%이상 개선이 되었다.

Due to the introduction of various types of dispersed generations (DGs) with larger capacity in a power distribution system, the short-circuit current is expected to be increased, which more requires for the effective fault current limiting methods. As one of the promising countermeasures, the superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been noticed. However, the decreased fault current by SFCL affects the operation of the overcurrent relay (OCR), representative protective device in a power distribution system. In this paper, the operation of the overcurrent relay due to the application of a SFCL in a power distribution system with DG linked by its bus line was analysed through the short-circuit tests. To analyze the effect of the SFCL application in a power distribution system with DG, the experimental simulated circuits were designed and the short-circuit tests for the power distributed system assembled with the DG, the OCR and the SFCL were carried out. Through the analysis on the short-circuit tests, the application of the SFCL in a power distribution system with DG could be confirmed to be contributed to the operational improvement of overcurrent relay.
