기어 물림 상태의 타행 주행 저항을 이용한 엔진 운전 조건의 분석 (Analysis of Engine Operation Condition by Using Coastdown Test under Gear Engaged Condition)

  • Conventional method to transform vehicle driving condition to engine operation mode is to use vehicle road load under neutral gear and mechanical efficiency of drivetrain. But this method requires additional measurement of efficiency of drivetrain on a test rig. And this measurement is normally done at fixed speed and thus estimated accuracy of engine operation mode is not considered to be high enough. This study suggests new method to calculate engine operation mode for prescribed driving mode such as NEDC using vehicle coastdown test under gear engaged condition without measurement of mechanical efficiency of drivetrain. Coastdown test was done under neutral and gear engaged condition for comparison and also trial to extract mechanical loss of drivetrain was carried out. Calculated engine torque by conventional and newly suggested method was compared with actually measured torque of a vehicle on a chassis dynamometer during NEDC. Newly suggested method showed slightly higher accuracy of accumulated brake work during NEDC.

M&S 기법을 통한 피아식별 레이다 성능예측 및 분석 (Performance Prediction and Analysis of Identification Friend or Foe(IFF) Radar by using Modeling & Simulation Methodology)

  • In actual battlefield environment, IFF radar plays an important role in distinguishing friend or foe targets and assigning unique identification code to management. Performance of IFF radar is greatly affected by radio environment including atmosphere and terrain, target maneuvering and operation mode. In this paper, M&S tool is consisted of interrogator(IFF radar) and answering machine(target) for radar performance analysis. The wave propagation model using APM(Advanced Propagation Model) and radar actuator system were modeled by considering beam waveform of individual operation beam mode. Using this tool, IFF radar performance was analyzed through two experimental results. As a result, it is expected that performance of IFF radar can be predicted in the operational environment by considering target maneuvering and operation beam mode.

지중온도 경사를 이용한 효율적 지중에너지 이용 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effective Energy Use of the Open Type Ground Heat Exchanger Using Underground Temperature Gradient)

  • This paper proposes an optimum operation method for open type ground heat exchangers. A series of TRTs and artificial heating/cooling operations were carried out while monitoring temperature in the hole of SCW. The ground temperature naturally increases with depth, but a switch between the cooling/heating mode results in a change in the distribution of ground temperature. The effect of the mode change was evaluated by performing LMTD and COMSOL multiphysics analysis for a reduced model with the depth of 150 m. As a result, in the cooling mode, the upstream operation is more efficient than the downstream operation and reduces EWT by $2.26^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, in the heating mode, the downstream operation is advantageous over the upstream operation and increases EWT by $3.19^{\circ}C$. The merit of the optimum operation will be enhanced for the typical dimension of SCW with a depth of 400~500 m. In the future, an open type ground heat exchanger system adopting the optimum operation with variation in the ground temperature will be used in practice.

  • 분산발전시스템에 비상부하 등의 전용부하가 접속되어 있는 경우, 주전원에 고장이 발생하러라도 비상전용부하에는 지속적인 전력을 공급하기 위하여 의도적인 단독운전을 하게 된다. 기존의 계통연계형 인버터는 주전원에 전력을 주입하기 위하여 평소에 전류제어모드로 운전을 하기 때문에, 의도적인 단독운전 상황이 발생하는 경우 비상부하에 안정된 전압을 공급해 주기 위하여 전압제어모드로 운전을 전환하여야한다. 이러한 운전모드의 전환시 인버터의 출력단 전압에 심각한 과도문제가 발생된다. 본 논문에서는 의도적인 단독운전 발생시 인버터 운전모드 전환에 따른 출력전압의 과도현상을 최소화하기 위한 인버터 토폴로지와 제어알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 간접전류제어 알고리즘에 적합한 LCL필터 설계방법과 설계데이터를 제시한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 공진 에너지 회생율을 최대화하여 전체적인 효율을 증가시킨 개선된 전파형 ZVT(Zero-Voltage-Transition) PWM(Pulse-Width-Modulation) DC-DC 컨버터를 소개한다. 개선된 회로는 단지 기존 컨버터의 보조스위치와 공진형 인덕터 사이에 직렬로 역공진 저지 다이오드를 추가로 달아서 모든 스위칭 소자들이 소프트 스위칭 조건에서 턴온/턴오프하여 스위칭 손실을 최소화하고, 공진 에너지를 완전히 입력으로 회귀시켜 전도손실을 절감하여 효율의 증감을 이루었다. 본 논문에서는 부스터 컨버터를 이용하여 개선된 컨버터의 동작을 분석하고, 실험결과를 바탕으로 제안된 회로의 타당성을 입증하였다.

실시간 상황 인식을 위한 센서 운용 모드 기반 항공 영상 요약 기법 (Aerial Video Summarization Approach based on Sensor Operation Mode for Real-time Context Recognition)

  • 항공 영상 요약은 무인항공기를 통해 획득된 전체 영상의 내용을 제한된 시간 내에 효과적으로 브라우징 함으로써 감시 정찰 지역에 대한 상황 인식을 가능하게 하는 기술이다. 항공 영상의 정확한 요약을 수행하기 위해 본 논문에서는 센서 운용 모드를 집중감시, 전역감시 그리고 구역감시모드로 구분하고 해당 센서 운용 모드의 특성을 고려하여 항공 영상 요약을 수행한다. 특히 집중감시 모드에서의 영상 요약은 화면 내 움직임이 있는 관심 객체의 지속적인 추적을 기반으로 수행되며 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 지역 움직임 벡터(partitioning motion vector)와 해당 벡터가 발생한 영역에서의 시공간적 중요도 지도(spatiotemporal saliency map)를 활용한 움직임 반응 추적 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘의 효율성과 적합성을 확인하기 위해 실 항공 영상을 대상으로 실험을 수행하였다. 도출된 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 방법은 전체 항공 영상에서의 영상 요약을 위해 센서 운용 모드에 따라 정확한 대표 프레임을 검출하였으며 이에 따라 대용량의 무인항공기 획득 영상이 효과적으로 요약될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

InGaAsP/InP Buried-Ridge Waveguide Laser with Improved Lateral Single-Mode Property

  • A novel InGaAsP/InP buried-ridge waveguide laser diode structure is proposed and demonstrated for use as a single-mode laser. The lateral mode of the proposed device can be controlled by adjusting the composition and thickness of the InGaAsP layer grown over the active region. Stable single-mode operation without kinks or beam-steering is achieved successfully with lateral and transverse in the junction plane even for the device with the ridge width of 9 ${\mu}m$ up to an injection current of 500 mA.

압착모드하에서 ER유체의 빙햄특성 및 댐핑력 제어 (Bingham Properties and Damping Force Control of an ER Fluid under Squeeze Mode)

  • This paper presents the field-dependent Bingham characteristics and damping force control of an electro-rheological (ER) fluid under squeeze mode operation. The squeeze force of the ER fluid due to the imposed electric field is analyzed and an appropriate size of the disk-type electrode is devised. On the basis of the theoretical model of the ER fluid under squeeze mode operation, the yield stress and response speed of the ER fluid are distilled from the time responses of squeeze force to the step electric potentials. Measured squeeze forces under various excitation conditions are compared with the predicted ones from Bingham model and time constant obtained at the transient response test. In addition, the controllability of the field-dependent damping force of the ER fluid under squeeze mode is experimentally demonstrated by implementing simple PID controller.

경량전철용 구동시스템의 고속영역운전을 위한 추진제어기법 (Control Strategy for High Speed Operation in Light Rail Transit)

  • In this paper, the control strategy for high speed operation in light rail transit system is proposed. Recently, the vector control strategy is used to get high capacity control characteristic in low speed area. But Six step mode that is one pulse mode is used in high speed region to use DC link voltage to the maximum. Therefore, in high speed area, the vector control can not be used but scalar control method is used. To get a driving performance to be stabilized, the method of smooth mode change between the low speed and high speed area and PWM control is desired. So this paper proposes the control strategy using vector control include the one pulse mode. And also proposes overmodulation method that makes to change in one pulse mode softly. The performance of traction system will be verified by simulation results using MATLAB and experimental results.

Operation-level Early Termination Algorithm for Inter-predictions in HEVC

  • The emerging High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard attempts to improve coding efficiency by a factor of two over H.264/Advanced Video Coding (AVC) at the expense of an increase in computational complexity. Mode decision with motion estimation (ME) is still one of the most time-consuming computations in HEVC, as it is with H.264/AVC. Thus, fast mode decisions are not only an important issue to be researched, but also an urgent one. Several schemes for fast mode decisions have been presented in reference software and in other studies. However, the conventional hierarchical mode decision can be useless when block-level parallelism is exploited. This paper proposes operation-level exploration that offers more chances for early termination. An early termination condition is checked between integer and fractional MEs and between the parts of one partition type. The fast decision points of the proposed algorithm do not overlap those in previous works. Thus, the proposed algorithms are easily used with other fast algorithms, and consequently, independent speed-up is possible.
