  • In this paper, the analysis methods of available information are reviewed and it is elicited to the method of which the analysis results are applied to the Autonomous Decentralized Train Management System for the optimization at the point of the route control time and for making the efficiency shunting plan in the Autonomous Centralized Station Operation Control System. As the statistics and estimated information which are got through the utilizable information analysis are applied for the automatic route control function and the shunting plan management of the station operation control system, it is possible to use efficiently the station information by the autonomous route control system. And as the exact forecast information needed for the shunting plan establishment and the operation is provided to the operator, it is established to the efficient train operation plan.

Discrete event simulation of Maglev transport considering traffic waves

  • A magnetically levitated vehicle (Maglev) system is under commercialization as a new transportation system in Korea. The Maglev is operated by an unmanned automatic control system. Therefore, the plan of train operation should be carefully established and validated in advance. In general, when making a train operation plan, statistically predicted traffic data is used. However, a traffic wave often occurs in real train service, and demand-driven simulation technology is required to review a train operation plan and service quality considering traffic waves. We propose a method and model to simulate Maglev operation considering continuous demand changes. For this purpose, we employed a discrete event model that is suitable for modeling the behavior of railway passenger transportation. We modeled the system hierarchically using discrete event system specification (DEVS) formalism. In addition, through implementation and an experiment using the DEVSim++ simulation environment, we tested the feasibility of the proposed model. Our experimental results also verified that our demand-driven simulation technology can be used for a priori review of train operation plans and strategies.

  • Suin line is expected to be opened completely in 2015 by three stages. And the line between Suwon and Incheon(54.0km) is under construction to supply the users of southwestern area transportation convenience. The route of Suin line will be constructed to share partly with Ansan line and connect directly with Bundang line to the east and Kyeongin line to the west. That's why a lot of difficulty in train and rolling stock operation IS expected. This paper proposes an alternative plan of train operation when the line is opened partly and completely and makes an optimally alternative plan through the analyses of transportation demand, the change of human resources of operation sector according to train operation plan by an alternative proposal and operation cost.

  • This paper proposes a simulation model which evaluates operation plans of container terminal. The operation plans of container terminal consist of berth plan, load plan, unload plan, yard plan, and equipment plan. It is discussed how to apply the simulation method to evaluate those plans. Simulation analysis is based on data about plans from the operation planning system through an interface program. It is discussed what we should got in the simulation, for example, the statistics about container-handling equipment such as container cranes, transfer cranes, yard tractors, and trailers used in the transportation of containers.

  • This paper presents a process and operation planning system and an NC code post-processor for effective machining of press dies for production of cars. Based on the machining feature, major parts of press dies are categorized into 15 groups and a standard process plan is defined for each group. The standard process plan consists of a series of processes where a process is defined as a group of operations that can be done with one setup. Details such as cutting tools, cutting conditions, and tool paths are decided at the operation planning stage. At the final stage of process and operation planning, the NC code post-processor adjusts feedrates along the tool path to reduce machining time while maintaining the quality. The adjustment rule is selected based on the machining load estimated by virtual machining.

  • Existing studies relative to enhancing sustainability of earth-work are mainly involved in the performance of construction equipments. They assume that there is no variation of the engine power and fuel consumption and classify the dozer operation into working and idle conditions. They enable to find the most eco-friendly equipment fleet deployment plan. However, they are confined in that they do not provide a measure to assess the sustainability of the operation plan and suggest optimal alternative(s). This paper presents a method that identifies an optimal dozer operation plan that assures sustainability by reducing fuel consumption of the equipment. The method computes the dozer operation productivity using engine-torque-output map provided by equipment manufacturers. Indeed, it identifies the eco-dozing operation that minimizes fuel consumption and maximizes the target productivity.

EnetPLAN을 이용한 지역난방시스템 가상 운전 분석 (Virtual Analysis of District Heating System Using ENetPLAN)

  • 본 연구에서는 발전사에서 숙련된 사용자가 코드를 입력하여 계산하는 프로그램의 문제점을 해소하고자 광역에너지네트워크 연구단은 확장성을 포함한 누구나 손쉽게 사용할 수 있는 지역난방 운전해석 프로그램 EnetPLAN을 국내 기술로 개발하였다. 이에 EnetPLAN과 시중에서 사용 중인 A프로그램과의 시뮬레이션을 통해 에너지네트워크상의 열원, 열수요 및 CHP(Combined Heat Plant:열병합발전) 운전 결과에 대해 비교하고자 하였다. 그 결과 EnetPLAN과 A프로그램의 에너지네트워크 상의 열 및 전력생산량은 열공급량과 축열조 운영방식의 시뮬레이션 결과에서 대부분 유사한 패턴으로 나타났다. 이는 EnetPLAN이 에너지네트워크 상에 존재하는 열병합발전시설의 다양한 운전모드에 따른 시뮬레이션 적용이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 국내 기술로 개발된 EnetPLAN이 향후 현장에서 쉽게 적용할 수 있으며, 효율적인 운전 시뮬레이션 결과를 제시할 것으로 기대한다.

  • In the railway system, transportation plan corresponds to a m aster plan for transport services. This service plan must be constructed to minimize operational cost or maximize revenue considering transportation demands and resource capacities in the railway operation company, and it includes several sub-planning activities such as train operation frequency plan, train (schedule) plan, train capacity assignment plan, and rolling stock requirement plan. In these sub- planning processes, train can be con side red as a product for providing customer services, and customer demands and operational advantages must be considered. In this paper, we present an effect estimation system for the train capacity pattern in a train schedule, and the effect of capacity pattern can be expressed as minimum spilled demand, minimum train service cost, and maximum train revenue or profit.

  • By means of analyzing the problems in monitoring plan, design, installation, operation based on maintenance monitoring system installed in subway tunnel section, the methods of improvement were proposed for applying to subway monitoring maintenance effectively in future. The choice of the better monitoring system, the operating method of monitoring system, the confidence and continuity of maintenance monitoring, the performance of responsible monitoring supervision in the phase of the planning of monitoring and design were proposed. The problem and developed plan in the different monitoring systems, the calibration and correction of monitoring system, the analysis for the results and plan for maintenance in the phase of installation of monitoring system and operation were also proposed.
