Dielectric Characteristics of Magnetic Tunnel Junction

  • To investigate the reliability of the MTJs on the roughness of insulating tunnel barrier, we prepared two MTJs with the different uniformity of barrier thickness. Namely, the one has uniform insulating barrier thickness; the other has non-uniform insulating barrier thickness as compared to different thing. As to depositing amorphous layer CoZrNb under the pinning layer IrMn, we achieved MTJ with uniform barrier thickness. Toinvestigate the reliability of the MTJs dependent on the bottom electrode, time-dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB) measurements were carried out under constant voltage stress. The Weibull fit of out data shows clearly that $t_{BD}$ scales with the thickness uniformity of MTJs tunnel barrier. Assuming a linear dependence of log($t_{BD}$) on stress voltages, we obtained the lifetime of $10^4$years at a operating voltage of 0.4 V at MTJs comprising CoNbZr layers. This study shows that the reliabilityof new MTJs structure was improved due to the ultra smooth barrier, because the surface roughness of the bottom electrode influenced the uniformity of tunnel barrier.

경암반에서 TBM 굴진 해석 및 평가 (Analysis and Assessment of Tunnel Boring Machine Performance in Hard Rock)

  • This research is designed to assess current achievement levels for mechanized excavation systems in Korea adn suggest the model predictive of TBM performance using statistical approaches. A test section in the TBM construction sites is selected to measure and analyze TBM performance. The field records including operating data, time allocation into downtime catagories, and machine design are analyzed on a shift basis. There are a total of 240 shifts, with most days operating two shifts per day. Examples of the probability density functions produced from the test section are presented and discussed. Relationships between TBM penetration rate and rock physical properties are investigated and the empirical equations for TBM performance prediction are also assessed with the field data.

수술현미경하 액와접근 갑상선 절제술 (Axillary Approach for Thyroidectomy under Operating Microscope)

  • Background and Objective:A post-operative hypertrophic scar of the anterior neck is the leading complaint of the patients who underwent conventional thyroid surgery. In order to minimize the post-operative scar of the anterior neck, we performed thyroidectomy via axillary approach using operating microscope and a specialized retractor to determine technical feasibility. Patients and Methods:From January 2005 to December 2006, we performed thyroidectomy via axillary approach under operating microscope(f=400mm, ${\times}2.5$;OPMI $pico^{(R)}$;Zeiss, Germany) for benign unilateral nodule in 25 cases(all female, average age 34.5yrs). Under general anesthesia less than 7cm of skin incision was made in the axilla of ipsilateral side. A subcutaneous tunnel went over the pectoralis major muscle and the clavicle, and then through the sternocleidomastoid muscle and sternothyroid muscle was excised. The area around the thyroid was sufficiently dissected, and then a retractor designed for exposure via axillary approach was placed within the tunnel and under operating microscope thyroidectomy was performed. Results:There were 17 cases of thyroid nodulectomy and 8 cases of subtotal lobectomy. The mean average operative time was 102.64minutes. Postoperative complications included one case of postoperative bleeding, one case of temporary vocal cord paralysis, two cases of delayed wound healing, two cases of paresthesia of shoulder and arm, and two cases of hypertrophic scar of the axilla. Postoperative histopathology includes 17 cases of adenomatous hyperplasia, six cases of cyst, and two cases of follicular adenoma. For all cases hospitalization period was two days. Conclusion:Thyroidectomy via axillary approach under operating microscope has a good cosmetic advantage without a post-operative scar of the anterior neck. The procedure is simple due to direct vision using operating microscope, easy to identify important structures by magnifying them, and therefore surgical time can be reduced.

시뮬레이션 분석을 통한 반사거울 시스템의 터널 적용성 연구 (A study on applicability of mirror reflector system in tunnel using simulation)

  • 터널은 밝기가 급변하는 공간으로 운전자의 안전을 위해 조도의 확보가 중요하고, 터널의 조명설비는 주간과 야간에 모두 운영되고 있어 많은 전기 에너지가 소비되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 주간에 터널의 자연채광을 효율적으로 이용하여 에너지를 절약할 수 있는 방안으로 RADIANCE 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 사용하여 자연채광 반사거울 시스템의 채광 성능을 평가해 보았다. 프로그램을 사용하여 바(bar)형식과 폴(pole)형식으로 구분하여 벽면과 바닥면으로 주광을 유입한 결과 터널입구부로부터 20 m에서 바형식의 형태가 터널내부의 높은 조도를 확보하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 국내 터널현장에 도입된 드럼타입 로드헤더의 작동방식 및 현장 운영 사례를 소개하였다. 축방향 타입과 횡방향 타입의 작동에 따른 절삭력과 반력의 방향을 분석하였다. 텔레스코픽 실린더의 사용 유무에 따른 터널면 형성의 차이점을 설명하였다. 실린더를 사용하지 않는 경우, 오목한 작은 반경의 터널면이 형성되어 터널면을 좌우로 구분하여 굴진하는 것으로 조사되었다. 그리고 국내 경암 터널 굴착환경에서 썸핑과 쉬어링 공정의 적용방안을 도해적으로 설명하고, 굴착공정에 대한 기존 설명자료를 일부 보완하였다.

  • In this paper, the stability of the tunnel boring machine (TBM), used in tunnel excavation, according to the thrust force of the thrust jack was investigated. The existing hydraulic cylinder analysis method is fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysis, where all of the flow setting and dynamic characteristics should be considered. Therefore, there is a need for a method to solve this problem simply and quickly. To facilitate this, the theoretical pressure in the hydraulic cylinder was calculated and compared with the analytical and experimental results. In the case of the analysis, the pressure generated inside the cylinder was analyzed statically, considering the operating characteristics of the shield TBM, and the stress and pressure were calculated. This method simplifies the analysis environment and shortens the analysis time compared to the existing analysis method. The obtained theoretical and analytical data were compared with the measured data during actual tunneling, and the analysis and experimental data showed a relative error of approximately 23.89%.

현장 굴진자료 분석에 의한 토압식 쉴드 TBM의 운전조건과 굴진속도 연구 (A Study on Advance Rate under the Operating Conditions of EPB Shield TBM Based on TBM Operation Data)

  • TBM(Tunnel Boring Machine) 터널은 굴진 도중 장비의 교체나 개조 등은 불가능하기 때문에 굴진 종료 시까지 투입된 장비로 굴진하여야만 한다. 특히 토압식 쉴드TBM은 막장관찰이 어려우므로 굴진 중에 수집된 자료를 분석하여 지반상태의 변화를 예측하고 이를 시공에 반영하여야한다. 지금까지의 TBM에 대한 연구는 굴착 대상이 되는 지반의 특성에 따른 장비선정 및 굴진속도 예측모델 개발이 주로 이루어져왔다. 그러나 굴착의 주체가 되는 TBM 장비의 굴진자료에 의한 지반상태의 추정 및 운전방법의 개선에 초점을 맞춘 연구는 그리 많이 수행되지 않았다. 본 연구는 토압식 쉴드TBM 시공 사례에서 얻은 굴진자료를 활용하여 투입된 장비의 운전조건에 따른 굴진속도의 변화와 최적 운전조건에 대해 알아보았다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 커터헤드의 회전속도와 총추력이 굴진속도에 가장 큰 영향을 주며 둘째, 적정한 굴진속도를 위해서는 최적 회전속도를 유지하면서 총추력을 조정하는 것이 좋으며 셋째, 총추력의 증가 추세에 따라 지반조건의 변화에 대한 예측이 가능하여 이에 따라 적절한 운전조건의 변경을 결정할 수 있다.

터널조명 측정을 통한 조도와 휘도기반의 조명 비교 연구 (Comparison Research between Lighting Based on luminance and Illuminance through Measuring Tunnel Lighting)

  • Tunnel lighting design and operation are both regulated based on luminance in and out of Korea these days. However, domestic tunnel lighting is operated by internal lighting depending on external brightness by using an illuminometer applying the conversion factor on luminance. The purpose of tunnel lighting is to alleviate the visual shock occurring from the rapid change from external brightness to internal brightness when entering a tunnel. However, when looking at the tunnels operated based on an illuminometer, it is not a system where the driver can measure the brightness within his or her viewing angle when entering the tunnel. It is general to install and operate the illuminometer on the roof of an administrative office near the tunnel; however, this method is not structured to connect with the internal lighting by checking the brightness of the viewing scope of the driver, thus is not structured to properly apply the viewing conditions of the driver. Rather, it should be in a method for extracting the luminance value within the viewing scope of the driver pursuant to tunnel lighting standards and in connection with internal lighting. This research seeks to find the difference between operations based on luminance and operations based on intensity of Illuminance in road tunnels through field measuring, and to suggest the necessity of operating based on luminance with the resulting value.

The damping efficiency of vortex-induced vibration by tuned-mass damper of a tower-supported steel stack

  • Many tower-supported steel stacks have been constructed in Japan, primarily for economic reasons. However the dynamic behavior of these stacks under a strong wind is not well known and the wind load design standard for this type of a stack has not yet been formulated. In light of this situation, we carried out wind response observation of an operating tower-supported steel stack with and without a tuned-mass damper. The observation revealed the performance of the tuned-mass damper installed on the stack in order to control the wind-induced vibration. Based on the observed data, we performed a wind tunnel test of a specimen of the stack. In this paper we report the results of the wind tunnel test and some comparisons with the results of observation. Our findings are as follows: 1) the tuned-mass damper installed on the specimen in the wind tunnel test worked as well as the one on the observed stack, 2) the amplitude of the vortex-induced vibration of the specimen corresponded approximately to that of the observed stack, and 3) correlation between Scruton number and reduced amplitude, y/d, (y is amplitude, d is diameter) was confirmed by both the wind tunnel test and the observed results.

터널화재시 부분배연설비의 운영방안을 위한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study for the Operation of Partial Smoke Extraction System in Tunnel Fire)

  • 본 연구에서는 부분배연설비의 배연효율을 분석하고, 화재시 운영방안을 제시하기 위하여 수치해석을 실시하였다. 해석결과 선행된 실험을 통하여 얻었던 균일댐퍼의 배연효율 및 연기의 단면분포에 의한 성층화 결과는 서로 일치하는 경향을 얻을 수 있었다. 균일댐퍼의 운영방안은 화재시 화재 근방의 댐퍼만을 개방하였을 경우가 터널내 모든 댐퍼를 개방하였을 경우에 비하여 약 7%의 배연효율이 증가됨을 보였다. 또한, 터널내 차량이 정체시 화재가 발생할 경우 승객의 안전한 대피를 위한 부분배연설비의 정량적인 운전방안을 제안하였다.
