경량 재료를 이용한 DCB 시험편의 열림 모드에서의 파손 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fracture Characteristics in Opening Mode of a DCB Specimen Using a Lightweight Material)

  • Recently, many structures using lightweight materials have been developed. This study was conducted by using Al6061-T6 and carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), two common lightweight materials. In addition, the failure characteristics of an interface bonded between a single material and a heterogeneous bonding material were analyzed. The specimens bonded with CFRP and Al6061-T6 were utilized by the combination of the heterogeneous bonding material. The specimens had a double cantilevered shape and the bonding between the materials was achieved by applying a structural adhesive. The experiments were conducted in opening mode: the lower part of the samples was fixed, while their upper part was subjected to a forced displacement of 3 mm/min by using a tensile tester. Under the tested amount of strength, energy release rate, and considering the specimens' fracture characteristics in opening mode, the specimen "CFRP-Al" presented the maximum stress, followed by "Al" and "CFRP". We can hence conclude that the inhomogeneous material "CFRP-Al" is useful for the construction of lightweight structures bonded with structural adhesive.

시장개방 도입기 부패 영향요인 연구 - 미얀마 기업을 대상으로 (A Study on the Factors Influencing Firm Cor ruption at the Beginning of Market Opening : The Case of Myanmar)

  • Corruption is a serious political factor that distorts economic structure and slows economic development. In particular, the transition to the market opening economy increases the corruption incentives due to the transitional situation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors on corruption using 2013 Myanmar Enterprise Survey data provided by World Bank. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the manager's willingness to dealing the regulation and the necessity of licensing had a positive relationship with corruption at the level of 90% and 95%, respectively. In the competitive environment factor, the intensity of the competition showed a significant increase at the level of 90%. In the institutional environment, the perception of social corruption and the obstacle of the taxation authorities increased the corruption. On the other hand, the increase in the instability of the political environment and strict enforcement of laws has been shown to reduce corruption. However, there was no significant relationship between managerial capacity, corruption of competitors, tax rate, and administrative environment.

디젤엔진용 전자식 EGR 밸브의 성능 특성 (Performance Characteristics of an Electronically Controlled EGR Valve for Diesel Engines)

  • 최근 디젤 차량의 NOx와 PM의 동시 저감을 위해 EGR 밸브와 EGR 쿨러로 구성된 modulated EGR 시스템이 디젤엔진에 장착되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 modulated EGR 시스템의 성능 평가를 위한 test bench를 설계, 제작한 후 2.0 L 디젤엔진용 전자식 EGR 밸브를 시험하였다. 또한 전자식 EGR 밸브의 성능을 밸브양정의 거동, 밸브 개폐시의 응답성, 밸브 통과 유량을 통하여 평가하였다. PWM 신호의 듀티율에 따른 밸브 양정의 거동은 비선형적이었으며, 밸브 개방과 폐쇄의 경로가 상이한 히스테리시스 현상을 나타냈다. 밸브 개방시 응답성은 통상의 기준을 만족하여 적절하였다. 끝으로 밸브 통과 유량은 듀티율 $40{\sim}60%$에서 듀티율과 밸브 전후의 차압에 의해 결정되나, 듀티율 60%이상에서는 차압에만 의존하였다.

Influencing factor on the prognosis of arthrocentesis

  • Objectives: The purpose of this article is to evaluate factors influencing prognosis of arthrocentesis in patients with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Materials and Methods: The subjects included 145 patients treated with arthrocentesis at the Dental Center of Ajou University Hospital from 2011 to 2013 for the purpose of recovering mouth opening limitation (MOL) and pain relief. Prognosis of arthrocentesis was evaluated 1 month after the operation. Improvement on MOL was defined as an increase from below 30 mm (MOL ${\leq}30mm$) to above 40 mm (MOL ${\geq}40mm$), and pain relief was defined as when a group with TMJ pain with a visual analog scale (VAS) score of 4 or more (VAS ${\geq}4$) decreased to a score of 3 or more. The success of arthrocentesis was determined when either mouth opening improved or pain relief was fulfilled. To determine the factors influencing the success of arthrocentesis, the patients were classified by age, gender, diagnosis group (the anterior disc displacement without reduction group, the anterior disc displacement with reduction group, or other TMJ disorders group), time of onset and oral habits (clenching, bruxism) to investigate the correlations between these factors and prognosis. Results: One hundred twenty out of 145 patients who underwent arthrocentesis (83.4%) were found to be successful. Among the influencing factors mentioned above, age, diagnosis and time of onset had no statistically significant correlation with the success of arthrocentesis. However, a group of patients in their fifties showed a lower success rate (ANOVA P=0.053) and the success rate of the group with oral habits was 71% (Pearson's chi-square test P=0.035). Conclusion: From this study, we find that factors influencing the success of arthrocentesis include age and oral habits. We also conclude that arthrocentesis is effective in treating mouth opening symptoms and for pain relief.

악관절증의 동통에 대한 국소마취제의 관절강내 Pumping에 의한 감별법 (DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS BY JOINT CAVITY PUMPING WITH LOCAL ANESTHETIC FOR PAIN OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT ARTHROSIS)

  • In the outpatient clinic, we have many patients who suffer from temporomandibular joint disorders. These vary from MPD syndrome to osteoarthrosis, and many cases have tender spots or areas on the temporomandibular joint region and/or masticatory muscles. Further, they frequently have masticatory muscle pain when opening the jaw. This paper presents the results of our research on the differential diagnosis for tendernesses and pain on opening the jaw in the temporomandibular joint region and the masticatory muscles by joint cavity pumping with local anesthestic. The areas of tenderness and jae-opening paw in 65 patient suffering from temporomandibular joint disorder were examined and recorded before and after anesthetizing the upper joint cavity with 2% lidocaine. Maximum interincisal distance was similarly recorded. The results were as follows : In the area surrounding the upper joint cavity including the lateral pterygoid muscle, the tenderness and jaw-opening pain vanished almost entirely after anesthesia. This was considered a direct infiltrative effect of the local anesthesia. After the anesthesia, 86% of the tendernesses on the sternocleidomastoid muscles, and 66% of those on the posterior belly of the diagstric muscles vanished, while the disappearance rates on the masseter, temporal, and medial pterygoid muscles were 50~60%. Apart from the temporomandibular region, pain on opening the jaw was found on the masseter, temporal, posterior belly of the digastric muscles, and medial pterygoid muscles before anesthesia. The disappearance rates after anesthesia were 90~100% except for the pain of the posterior belly of the digastric muscles, for which the rate was 66%. These results suggest that more than 88% of the tendernesses on the sternocleidomastoid muscle, more than 60% of the tendernesses and jaw-opening pains on the digastric muscle, and more than half of the tendernesses and almost all of the jaw-opening pains in the jaw-closing muscles are referred pains from the temporomandibular joint. The tendernesses that had no change after anesthesia were considered to be derived from spasms of the muscles proper. Generally, maximum interincisal distance increased after anesthesia. The average distance was 34mm before anesthesia, but increased to 41mm after anesthesia. In a few cases, however little or no change was found in those distances. In these cases, pathological changes were found in the joint cavities arthrographically or arthroscopically.

영화의 개봉일 흥행성과가 영화의 최종 흥행에 미치는 영향: 개봉일 흥행순위를 중심으로 (The Impact of Opening Day Box Office Performance on a Movie's Final Box Office: Focusing on a Movie's Box Office Rank on an Opening Day)

  • 본 연구는 개봉일 흥행순위, 특히 개봉일 흥행 1위 여부에 초점을 두고 영화의 최종 흥행 예측 지표를 탐색하고자 한다. 한국 영화시장의 최근 5년간(2013~2017년) 개봉작 총 794편의 자료에 대한 회귀분석을 통해, 개봉일 흥행 1위를 달성한 영화일수록 최종 흥행성과가 더 좋음을 확인하였다. 또한 영화의 질(quality)이 개봉일 흥행 1위 영화의 흥행에 추가적인 영향을 준다고 보기는 어려웠다. 개봉일 흥행 1위 여부 외에 개봉일 대비 일요일 상영횟수 증가 여부도 최종 관객 수에 영향을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 개봉일 흥행 1위 영화 158편에 대한 추가 분석 결과, 개봉 2주차 관객증가율의 최종 흥행 설명력이 높았다. 영화의 개봉일 흥행과 최종 흥행 간의 상관계수를 연도별로 비교한 결과, 상관계수가 일관된 증가 추세를 보이지는 않았다. 본 연구는 영화 흥행에 대한 새로운 지표들을 발굴하고 해당 지표들의 최종 흥행에 대한 영향이 유의하다는 것을 확인하였다는 점에서 기존 연구와 차별성을 가진다고 볼 수 있다.

FGR 시스템 동력 플랜트 보일러의 성능 및 배기 배출물에 미치는 재순환 배기의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effect of Recirculated Exhaust Gas upon Performance and Exhaust Emissions in a Power Plant Boiler with FGR System)

  • 자연순환식 압입 송풍식 수관보일러에 FGR시스템을 설치하여 보일러 부하 및 공기량 댐퍼개도를 파라미터로 해서 FGR률에 따른 성능 및 배기 배출물에 미치는 재순환 배기의 영향을 조사하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 $NO_x$ 배출물을 저감시키기 위하여 동력플랜트 보일러에 FGR시스템을 적용하는 것이다. 연소를 활성화시키기 위해 0 ~ 20%의 연소용 공기를 화염 내에 공급한다. 공기상자 상부에 설치된 2단 연소시스템의 흡입댐퍼를 $0^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$ 사이에서 레버를 조작하여 열면, 버너로 공급되는 연소용 공기가 변화된다. 증발률당의 연료소비율은 FGR률의 증가에 따라 증가 혹은 감소의 명확한 경향을 나타내지 않았고, 동일 공기량 댐퍼개도에서는 FGR률이 증가할수록, 또한, 보일러 부하가 감소할수록 $NO_x$ 배출물이 감소되었다. 매연 배출물은 전기 집진기에서 86.7%의 포집효율로 매연이 제거되었기 때문에, 보일러 부하, 공기량 댐퍼 개도 및 FGR률의 운전조건에 관계없이 극소량의 매연이 배출되었다.

Piston Crevice Hydrocarbon Oxidation During Expansion Process in an SI Engine

  • Combustion chamber crevices in SI engines are identified as the largest contributors to the engine-out hydrocarbon emissions. The largest crevice is the piston ring-pack crevice. A numerical simulation method was developed, which would allow to predict and understand the oxidation process of piston crevice hydrocarbons. A computational mesh with a moving grid to represent the piston motion was built and a 4-step oxidation model involving seven species was used. The sixteen coefficients in the rate expressions of 4-step oxidation model are optimized based on the results from a study on the detailed chemical kinetic mechanism of oxidation in the engine combustion chamber. Propane was used as the fuel in order to eliminate oil layer absorption and the liquid fuel effect. Initial conditions of the burned gas temperature and in-cylinder pressure were obtained from the 2-zone cycle simulation model. And the simulation was carried out from the end of combustion to the exhaust valve opening for various engine speeds, loads, equivalence ratios and crevice volumes. The total hydrocarbon (THC) oxidation in the crevice during the expansion stroke was 54.9% at 1500 rpm and 0.4 bar (warmed-up condition). The oxidation rate increased at high loads, high swirl ratios, and near stoichiometric conditions. As the crevice volume increased, the amount of unburned HC left at EVO (Exhaust Valve Opening) increased slightly.

점탄성 원통의 모드 I 균열 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Viscoelastic Cylinders with Mode I Cracks)

  • 원환균열과 원주균열을 지닌 축대칭 선형 점탄성 중실축과 중공축이 외력을 받을 때 파괴역학 변수로서 응력확대계수, 에너지방출률 그리고 균열개구변위의 수치해를 유한요소해법을 이용하여 구한다. 균열선단에서는 응력의 특이성을 지닌 1/4절점 삼각형 특이요소가 사용된다. 또한 수치해를 비교 검증하기 위해 탄성-점탄성 상응원리를 이용하여 선형파괴역학의 탄성해들로부터 점탄성 이론해가 유도 제시된다. 해석에 사용되는 점탄성 물성은 체적변형은 탄성적이고 전단변형은 표준선형고체처럼 거동한다고 가정한다. 제시된 수치해법과 이론해는 축대칭 점탄성 거동 연구에 중요한 자료가 된다.

  • This paper proposes elastic stress intensity factors and crack opening displacements (CODs) for a slanted axial through-wall cracked cylinder under an internal pressure based on detailed 3-dimensional (3-D) elastic finite element (FE) analyses. Based on the elastic FE results, the stress intensity factors along the crack front and CODs through the thickness at the center of the crack were provided. These values were also tabulated for three selected points, i.e., the inner and outer surfaces and at the mid-thickness. The present results can be used to evaluate the crack growth rate and leak rate of a slanted axial through-wall crack due to stress corrosion cracking and fatigue. Moreover, the present results can be used to perform a detailed Leak-Before-Break analysis considering more realistic crack shape development.
