The purpose of this study is to suggest the interior architecture design studio through the pedagogical method of educational technology for college students who lack self-directed learning. The pedagogical method has been organized to make a student-centered class based on the operation of existing architectural design studios. This teaching and learning method emphasizes the role of teachers as facilitators to help students lacking in self-directed learning in the design process, the BIM visualization to give students an expression of design project and the critics to give students an experience of working circumstances. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, This pedagogical model can improve the self-directed learning of students, accomplish the design process well through teamwork, and provide problem based learning (PBL) to settle obstacles that come up during the project. Second, through this model, students can improve their field design capacity by instructor, design feedback and criticism. Finally, This model can suggest new pedagogical methods for interior architectural design studios and management of student-centered studios.
A new composite method of finite element and boundary integral methods is presented to solve the two dimensional magnetostatic field problems with open boundary. The method can deal with the current source of the boundary integral regin where the boundary integral method is applied, and also Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions at the interfacial boundary between the boundary integral region and the finite element region where the finite element method is applied. The new approach has been applied to a simple linear problem to verify the usefulness. It is shown that the proposed algorithm gives more accurate results than the finite element methed under the same elementdiscretization.

In this paper we propose a framework for an Object Relational IFC Server (OR-IFC Server). Enormous amounts of information are generated in each project. Today, many BIM systems are developed by various CAD software vendors. Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) developed by International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) is an open standard data model for exchanging data between the various BIM tools. The IFC provides a foundation for exchanging and sharing of information directly between software applications and define a shared building project model. The IFC model server is a database management system that can keep track of transactions, modifications, and deletions. It plays a role as an information hub for storing and sharing information between various parties involved in construction projects. Users can communicate with each other via the internet and utilize functions implemented in the model server such as partial data import/export, file merge, version control, etc. IFC model servers using relational database systems have been developed. However, they suffered from slow performance and long transaction time due to a complex mapping process between the IFC structure and a relational-database structure because the IFC model schema is defined in the EXPRESS language which is object-favored language. In order to simplify the mapping process, we developed a set of rules to map the IFC model to an object-relational database (ORDB). Once the database has been configured, only those pieces of information that are required for a specific information-exchange scenario are extracted using the pre-defined information delivery manual (IDM). Therefore, file sizes will be reduced when exchanging data, meaning that files can now be effectively exchanged and shared. In this study, the framework of the IFC server using ORDB and IDM and the method to develop it will be examined.
Road traffic accidents (RTAs) are the leading cause of accidental death among children. RTA reduction is becoming an increasingly important social issue among children. Municipalities aim to resolve this issue by introducing "Smart Pedestrian Crosswalks" that help prevent traffic accidents near children's facilities. Nonetheless such facilities tend to be installed in relatively limited number of areas, such as the school zone. In order for budget allocation to be efficient and policy effects maximized, optimal location selection based on machine learning is needed. In this paper, we employ machine learning models to select the optimal locations for smart pedestrian crosswalks to reduce the RTAs of children. This study develops an optimal location index using variable importance measures. By using k-means clustering method, the authors classified the crosswalks into three types after the optimal location selection. This study has broadened the scope of research in relation to smart crosswalks and traffic safety. Also, the study serves as a unique contribution by integrating policy design decisions based on public and open data.
This study aims to propose a smart city governance logic model that can accommodate more diverse information service systems by mixing hub-and-spoke and blockchain technologies as a data management model. Specifically, the research focuses on deriving the logic of an operating system that can work across smart city planning based on the two data governance technologies. The first step of the logic is the generation and collection of information, which is first divided into information that requires information protection and information that can be shared with the public, and the information that requires privacy is blockchainized, and the shared information is integrated and aggregated in a data hub. The next step is the processing and use of the information, which can actively use the blockchain technology, but for the information that can be shared other than the protected information, the governance logic is built in parallel with the hub-and-spoke type. Next is the logic of the distribution stage, where the key is to establish a service contact point between service providers and beneficiaries. Also, This study proposes the establishment of a one-to-one data exchange relationship between information providers, information consumers, and information processors. Finally, in order to expand and promote citizen participation opportunities through a reasonable compensation system in the operation of smart cities, we developed virtual currency as a local currency and designed an open operation logic of local virtual currency that can operate in the compensation dimension of information.
According to current digital and information society, architecture related departments in universities give and educate computer courses to train top-level human resources suiting the needs of the time. The aim of this study is to curriculum of architecture related departments and to use the references for curriculum organization by understanding computer courses for architecture related departments. The results are as follows: (1) There are 100 departments (28.2%) in the field of architecture and 130 departments including an academic system that is the most departments. Also, there are 86 departments (39.8%) in the field of architecture engineering and 117 departments including an academic system. There are 77 departments in the field of interior architecture, which contain 48 departments (62.3%) of two- or three-year bachelor course college. (2) Department in the field of architecture opens a program study course in the second year of the program that is the most courses had been opened. First, most departments selected an order of learning a structure/detail construction techniques of architecture and design skills such as a foundation system and expression of the structure by hand in the first grade and processing it using a computer in the second grade. (3) BIM was opened in only three departments of 31 departments surveyed and was opened in a senior class. The reasons of still lack of BIM are the compatibility deficit of partners such as building structure, building equipment, securing lecturer, and still the dominant point of CAD in the field. (4) Six departments of 31 departments surveyed did not open a program study course as a major. That is to say, it is learned in a basic course or basic liberal arts education requirements (information area) of each department, or in an own program of each department. (5) The program study is only a means to create architectural drawings in department of the field of architecture. Thus, we should remember not only the drawing through the program but also drawing up a floor plan after understanding of methods such as constructional methods, detail drawing, and expression.
An IFC file is dependent on the IFC schema. Because of this relationship, most IFC-using software reads and interprets the IFC File by employing an early binding method, which uses a standard IFC schema. In the case of most open sources, early binding methods using standard IFC schema have a problem that they cannot express extra information of IFC File out of extended IFC schema. Also, in the case of previous studies, they suggested schema extension, such as adding attribute information to the schema, rather than the interpretation of IFC File. This study research on method of extracting shape and attribute information was conducted by analyzing the IFC File produced through the Port schema, which is an extended IFC schema. Three objects were created using the reference relationship between the Port schema definition and the IFC entity, and, at the end, the three objects were combined into one object. It has been confirmed that the shape and property data were express properly while delivering the combined object to the viewer. The process is possible because of the method of matching IFC schema and IFC File, which is dependent on IFC schema but not early binding method. However, this method has some drawbacks, such that contemporaneously generated many objects consume many memory spaces. Future research to investigate that issue further is needed.
COBie(Construction Operations Building Information Exchange)는 시설물 관리 프로젝트에 필요한 정보를 여러 경로에서 수집하고 문서화하는 표준정보포맷이다.
