  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze whether open innovation activities are significant and which methods are more effective in developing new businesses. Based on the latest technological innovation survey data of the Science and Technology Policy Institute, the results were analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, we confirmed that open innovation activities have a positive effect on the performance of developing new businesses. In the open innovation activities, Recruitment (invitation) of specialist in related fields, Business alliance technical agreement, Dispatch of personnel, M&A, Acquisitions identify related field trends showed more influence in order. It would be beneficial to improve the performance of developing new businesses with a low probability of success if utilize more effective innovation activities in developing new business in enterprises or organizations throughout this study.

  • Due to the emergence of open innovation driven by development of network service technologies and convergence in ICT service industry, It is necessary for ICT service firms to examine their capabilities for open innovation. The purpose of this paper is to empirically examine determinants affecting open innovation in Korean ICT service industry. In order to analyze, this paper uses logistic and multiple regression models based on survey data of Korean ICT service firms. Estimation results show that external network for collaboration is positive on the technological innovation activity regardless of the innovation type. Specifically, user networks are significant in all types of technology innovation, revealing that it is important to innovation activities of the ICT service firms.

  • In this paper, we investigate automated data validation techniques for artificial intelligence training, and also disclose open-source frameworks, such as Google's TensorFlow Data Validation (TFDV), that support automated data validation in the AI model development process. We also introduce an experimental study using public data sets to demonstrate the effectiveness of the open-source data validation framework. In particular, we presents experimental results of the data validation functions for schema testing and discuss the limitations of the current open-source frameworks for semantic data. Last, we introduce the latest studies for the semantic data validation using machine learning techniques.

  • 5G networks are rapidly expanding. Simultaneously, the need for a testbed-not a commercial network-is increasing to verify aspects such as 5G network security vulnerabilities. Open-source projects in 4G networks already exist and are implemented similarly in commercial networks. Due to the compatibilty between 5G and 4G networks, 5G networks are being developed and implemented as open-source projects on the basis of 4G networks. In this study, we review the development trends of 5G open-source projects and simulators that can be used for 5G research.

  • Recently, introduction of Open Source Software into informatization of the government and public sector has been actively examined, however, Open Source Software is being rarely adopted due to the lack of verified and reliable data with regard to the criteria, process, performance and stability for introduction of Open Source Software. In this paper, the process, method and plan for performance verification for introduction of Open Source Software into mission critical systems of the government and public sector are suggested in order to solve the aforesaid problem Specially, a test system to judge whether or not to adopt Open Source Software in school affairs system of the NEIS(National Education Information System) of the Korean government was set up, and the method and process of performance verification by stage in addition to feasibility study were applied to the test system for verification. Based on the result of performance evaluation in the test system, the application of Linux to school affairs system of the NEIS is being successfully practiced. It is expected that this study will be a guideline to technical review process and performance verification method as necessary to introduce Open Source Software into the mission critical systems of government and public agencies.

  • Open science projects are being actively carried out globally. Publishing the results of public research (publications and data) in digital format and enhancing access to these materials are getting more important. Various research support tools are being used to support open research, open access, open data, open peer review and open research performance evaluation. We analyzed research support services to prepare open science movement in Korea. Korea is not ready for research data management and research collaboration except open access and institutional repositories. It can be seen as an urgent matter to analyze these international open science research support services carefully and reflect them in research support policy and service guideline.

  • Purpose: To compare the clinical outcomes between the open posterior approach and arthroscopic suture fixation for displaced posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion fractures. Methods: A literature search was performed on MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library databases. The inclusion criteria were as follows: papers written in English on displaced PCL avulsion fractures, clinical trial(s) with clear description of surgical technique, adult subjects, a follow-up longer than 12 months and modified Coleman methodology score (CMS) more than 60 points. Results: Twelve studies were included with a mean CMS value of 72.4 (standard deviation, 7.6). Overall, 134 patients underwent the open posterior approach with a minimum 12-month follow-up, and 174 patients underwent arthroscopic suture fixation. At final follow-up, the range of Lysholm score was 85-100 for the open approach and 80-100 for the arthroscopic approach. Patients who were rated as normal or nearly normal in the International Knee Documentation Committee subjective knee assessment were 92%-100% for the open approach and 90%-100% for the arthroscopic approach. The range of side-to-side difference was 0-5 mm for both approaches. Conclusions: Both arthroscopic and open methods for the treatment of PCL tibial-side avulsion injuries resulted in comparably good clinical outcomes, radiological healing, and stable knees.

  • This review evaluates the literature on the relationship between mandibular condylar process fracture and temporomadibular joint (TMJ). The topic of condylar fracture generated more discussion and controversy than any other field of maxillofacial trauma associated with TMJ. Disturbance of occlusal function, devia-tion of mandible, internal derangements of TMJ, and ankylosis of the joint with resultant inability to move the jaw are sequelae of condylar process fracture. Thus it is necessary to understand how the masticatory system adapts to the structural alterations that accompany fractures of the mandibular condyle. Treatment of condylar process fracture include two methods ; closed treatment and open treatment. If one chooses totreat closed, one must understand that adaptations in the musculature, skeleton, and dentition will be necessary. Open treatment of condylar process fractures probably requires fewer adaptations within the masticatory system to provide a favorable functional outcome. However, one must weigh the risk of open surgery against the possible improvement in outcome. The risks are not just surgical risk, but biological risk as well, such as disruption of the blood supply to the condyle. This review presents relevant aspects of change of TMJ associated with condylar process fracture.

  • The purpose of this paper is to derive the categories of negative e-WOM (electronic word of mouth) via consumer review. Disclosing the details of negative e-WOM based consumer reviews has never been done before. For this reason, a content analysis was adopted to provide knowledge and understanding of the phenomenon. This paper analyzes the content of 630 consumer reviews posted on the open market internet site, www.auction.co.kr. The analysis was conducted from October 20th, 2008 to March 10th, 2009. The results indicated that the negative e-WOM based consumer reviews can be divided into two categories: the cognitive evaluation and the expression of consumer's emotion. The category of cognitive evaluation is consisted of negative e-WOM of product, negative e-WOM of service, and warning about the risk of purchasing products. The category of expressing consumers' emotion are composed of venting customers' dissatisfaction and passive response of dissatisfaction. Investigating the details of negative e-WOM has a number of implications. Most importantly, the results revealed multidimensional structure of negative e-WOM. This understanding of negative e-WOM communication allows marketers to improve products and services that better meet customers' current and future needs.

  • Impacted teeth are a frequent phenomenon encountered by every clinician. The artificial eruption of embedded teeth is the process of directing an impacted tooth into normal occlusion. This procedure is currently attracting attention, with the aim of finding the best technique to use according to each case. This article presents key information regarding impacted incisors, canines, and premolars. In addition, we describe the most common techniques to use for artificial eruption, the open and closed techniques. We review the literature concerning these techniques and outline how clinicians can manage every type of impacted tooth.
