SPECTRAL EVOLUTION OF NOVAE IN THE NEAR-INFRARED BASED ON AKARI OBSERVATIONS

  • We have carried out the near-infrared spectroscopic observations of recent classical novae (e.g., V2468Cyg, V1280Sco) within a few years from the outburst with AKARI as a part of AKARI Open Time Observing Program for Phase 3-II "Spectral Evolution of Novae in the Near-Infrared based on AKARI Observations (Proposal ID: SENNA)". The homogeneous datasets of near-infrared spectra from $2.5{\mu}m$ to $5{\mu}m$ with AKARI/IRC collected in this program are useful to infer the physical conditions of the shell formed by the ejected materials, to examine the chemical properties of the ejecta gas, and to examine the properties of dust formed in the nova ejecta.

  • For 3D display applications, auto-stereoscopic display methods that can provide 3D images without glasses have been actively developed. This paper is concerned with developing a display system for elemental images of real space using integral imaging. Unlike the conventional method, which reduces a color image to the level as much as a generated depth image does, we have minimized original color image data loss by generating an enlarged depth image with interpolation methods. Our method was efficiently implemented by applying a GPU parallel processing technique with OpenCL to rapidly generate a large amount of elemental image data. We also obtained experimental results for displaying higher quality integral imaging rather than one generated by previous methods.

  • Th purpose of this study is three folds: to analyze postmodern fashion through the notion of pastiche to enhance an understanding of uncertain and confused situation in the late 1990s and to suggest a way of approach to creativity and originality in recent fashion design. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. Pastiche is an art work that borrows some parts of other artists authentic works and recombines them thus imitating their style technique or motifs selfconciously. 2. Pastiche is based onthe Deconstruction theory: the end of art as a result of deconstruction of the subject the collapse of the meaning the loss of history: the late Capitalism in which reality becomes chage into images or simulacre. 3. Pastiche represented by the death of author which means the exhaustion of creativity is shown in the fashion borrowing subculture styles and art works or religious images. Pastiche fashion which is equal to the play of signifiers floated as image is shown as graffiti and objects Time and space pastiche fashion can be explained by historical eclectism and ethnic looks, Finally pastiche means not the fixed aspect but the open concept of indeterminate condition which includes " anything goes" through the coesistence of various style in pastiche fashion.

Pulmonary and Cutaneous Evaporative Water Losses in Sahiwal and Sahiwal × Holstein Cattle During Solar Exposure

  • In order to assess the effect of solar exposure on pulmonary functions and evaporative losses from skin and pulmonary surfaces, in six healthy Sahiwal (S) and six Sahiwal ${\times}$ Holstein ($S{\times}H$) cattle were exposed to direct sun during summer. Breed differences were observed during exposure. Increase in sweating rate was higher in crossbreds (222%) than in Sahiwal (125%). Pre-exposure (ambient temperature, $32.6{\pm}0.85^\circ}C$, solar radiation, $0.9cal\;cm^{-2}min^{-1}$) evaporative loss from skin accounted for about 90% of the losses and remaining losses were contributed by pulmonary surfaces in Sahiwal. The contribution of evaporation through skin increased to 92% (ambient temperature $39.4{\pm}0.68^\circ}C$, solar radiation, $1.35cal\;cm^{-2}min^{-1}$). In crossbreds 80% of the evaporative losses were through skin before exposure which increased to 87% after exposure to solar radiations. Rectal temperature increase was higher in crossbreds ($1.5^{\circ}C$) than in Sahiwal ($0.8^{\circ}C$). With the increase in pulmonary evaporative losses, respiratory frequency increased to 2 fold in Sahiwal and pulmonary ventilation increased 1.6 times the resting value in Sahiwal due to solar exposure. In $S{\times}H$ crossbreds the respiratory frequency increased 3.5 times and pulmonary ventilation increased only to 1.8 times due to decrease in tidal volume. There was about 2 fold increase in alveolar ventilation in both the breeds, the increase in dead space ventilation was more in crossbreds than in Sahiwal. Behavioral symptoms exhibited by animals after exposure were profuse salivation, open mouth panting, tongue protrusion and general restlessness.

  • 건설 기술의 발달과 도시지역의 인구증가로 인하여 생활공간은 지상과 지하로 확대되었고 도시 교통난이 증가함에 따라 대중교통수단으로서 지하철건설이 확대 되었다. 이로 인하여 지하상가가 발달하였고 지하도시공간은 생활공간과 문화공간의 중심이 되었다. 그러나 지하도시공간은 지상공간과는 달리 화재가 발생 했을 때 조도가 낮아 연기로 인한 시야확보의 어려움, 순간적인 판단오류로 인한 방위감 상실, 열기의 급격한 확산과 외기 획득 제한성으로 인한 산소 결핍 등으로 막대한 인명피해와 재산손실을 초래한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 지하상가의 주소체계에 대하여 분석하고 도로명주소와 연계하여 직선의 지하상가와 원형의 지하상가에 대한 주소체계를 제시하고자 한다. 또한 지하상가 주소체계표준화를 통하여 화재 발생 시 지하상가 내부에 있는 시민들이 주소만으로 자신의 위치를 알고 대피할 수 있으며, 소방서에서는 정확한 위치 파악이 가능할 것이라 판단된다.

소방활동을 위한 밀폐공간 무선통신 측위성능 평가 (The Evaluation of UWB Wireless Communication Position Determination Function in an Enclosed Space for Fire Fighting)

  • 밀폐된 공간에서 통신인프라가 파괴될 경우, 긴급 유 무선 통신환경을 구축하여 화재진압 및 소방관 위치확인을 통한 보다 안전한 재난대응환경 확보가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) 무선통신망을 이용하여 밀폐된 실내 통신환경을 구축하기 위해 6가지 실내환경에 대해 단일 UWB 통신모듈에 대한 통신측위 성능평가를 최대 20 m까지 측정하였다. UWB 통신주파수 각 대역별 6개 채널에 대한 실내환경 통신거리 측정 결과, 개방공간(평균 15.5 m, 최대 20 m), 복도(평균 17.33 m, 최대 20 m), 실내집기류 존치 실내(평균 15.3 m, 최대 20 m), 수직계단(평균 4.33 m, 최대 6 m), 방화문 폐쇄 수평공간(평균 6.5 m, 최대 17 m)으로 나타났다. 이중 7번 채널인 6489.6~1081.6 MHz 주파수 대역에서 통신성능과 거리성능이 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 UWB 통신모듈을 20m 간격으로 설치하고 멀티채널을 이용할 경우 밀폐공간에서 통신환경 구축이 가능한 것으로 판단된다.

공동구의 정량적 경제성 평가를 위한 항목별 중요도 분석 (Analysis of importance by category for quantitative economic evaluation of multi-utility tunnel)

  • 기존 공동구에 관한 VE/LCC 연구는 정량적 방법을 통하여 편익(7개 항목), 비용(5개 항목)에 대하여 서울시의 주요 10개노선을 대상으로 비용-편익 분석을 통한 공동구의 경제적 타당성을 검토하였다. 기존 공동구에 관한 VE/LCC 연구는 정량적 방법을 통하여 편익(7개 항목), 비용(5개 항목)에 대하여 분석을 수행하였다. 이에 본 논문에서는 3개의 항목(교통사고감소, 차량소음저감, 사회 경제 손실)을 추가하여 서울시 주간선도로 61개 구간에 대하여 경제성 평가를 분석 하였다. 교통사고감소 항목은 사업시행으로 절감할 수 있는 교통사고 비용을 개량화한 것이며, 차량소음저감 항목은 사업시행으로 발생하는 소음 변화량을 나타낸 지표이다. 마지막으로 사회 경제손실 항목은 공동구의 시공으로 인하여 지역경제에 미치는 영향을 금액으로 나타낸 것이다. 편익은 10개의 항목, 비용은 8개의 항목들 중 우선 추가 항목들의 금액을 비교 분석 하였으며, 개착식 및 터널식 공동구에서 추가된 항목들과 전체 항목들이 각 분석에 미치는 영향 정도를 분석하였다. 분석의 결과로 공동구 경제성 평가시 기초 및 상세 모델에 적용되는 항목들을 분석하여 공동구 설계시 보다 효율적인 경제성 평가가 가능하도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 추가로 제시된 항목들을 포함한 기초 및 상세 모델의 경제성 평가는 공동구 설계시 자주 활용될 것으로 판단된다.

Bone Cement-Augmented Percutaneous Screw Fixation for Malignant Spinal Metastases : Is It Feasible?

  • Objective : We evaluated the validity of bone cement-augmented percutaneous screw fixation for treating malignant spinal metastases. Methods : Between 2011 and 2015, 14 patients (eight men and six women) who underwent bone cement-augmented percutaneous screw fixation for malignant spinal metastases were enrolled in this study. Their life expectancy was considered to be more than one month and less than one year, based on the revised Tokuhashi scoring system. Clinical findings including the back pain scale score, functional outcome, procedure related complications, and survival were assessed preoperatively, postoperatively, and then six months after the procedure. Results : Twelve of the patients (86%) survived up to six months after the procedure. Three required mini-open decompressive laminectomy for severe epidural compression. Bone cement-augmented percutaneous screw fixation was performed one level above, one level below, and at the pathologic level itself. The mean operation time was 60 minutes (45-180) and blood loss was less than 100 mL. Prior to surgery, the mean pain score on the visual analogue scale was 8.8, while one month after the procedure, it had reduced to 3.0; this improvement was maintained until the six-month assessment in the surviving patients. All patients were able to sit within the first two days after surgery, and no patient experienced neurological deterioration at the one-month follow up after the surgery. No patient experienced screw loosening during the six months of follow-up. Asymptomatic cement leakage into the epidural space was observed in two patients, but no major complications were observed. Conclusion : For selected patients with malignant spinal metastases, bone cement-augmented percutaneous screw fixation can provide significant pain relief and improve quality of life.

GOTHIC을 위한 SDTS 데이타 변환 시스템의 개발 (Development of a SDTS Data Conversion System for GOTHIC)

  • 지리 정보 시스템(GIS: Geographic Information System)은 일반적으로 각각의 독립적인 저장구조를 가지고 많은 양의 지리 정보 데이타를 다루고 있다. 이런 이유로 상호 호환적이지 못한 지리 데이터를 저장하고 있는 지리 정보 시스템들간의 지리 데이타 교환은 일반적으로 어려운 상황이다. 게다가, 지리 데이타를 저장하는 것은 많은 저장 공간을 필요로 하고, 그들을 입력하는데도 많은 비용이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 현존하는 지리 정보 시스템인 GOTHIC을 위한 SDTS 데이타 변환 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 데이타의 손실없는 변환을 위해서 먼저 SDTS 데이타와 GOTHIC 데이타간의 매핑을 설계하였다. 특히, SDTS 데이타가 ISO8211 형태이므로 엑세스를 위해 FIPS123 라이브러리를 이용하였고, 또한 GOTHIC의 내부적인 포맷은 공개되어 있지 않기 때문에 GOTHIC 데이타를 엑세스하기 위해 GOTHIC 라이브러리를 이용하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 SDTS 데이타 변환 시스템은 효과적인 지리 정보 데이타의 변환을 위해 중간 화일을 이용하였고, 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 구현하기 위해 UIL을 이용하였다.

『돈키호테』에 나타난 모리스꼬의 정체성을 중심으로 (The Identity of Morisco in Don Quijote de La Mancha)

  • This article is concerned about a reason for which Cervantes participates an arabic author named Benengeli and morisco translator in his work instead of christian author. From the multi-cultural point of view, the time in which Don Qujote was published, belongs to the Golden Age. In other words, the society can not be supported by the ideology of Purity of Blood in that the morisco, converso (Christian Jewish) have been permitted to coexist in the name of christian proselyte or New Christian despite of invisible discrimination. An invisible discrimination is based on the prejudice and negative stereotype of Old Christian against the New Christian. Cervantes offers an o open space for readers to participate in the creative reading, giving up the absolute authority of author named Benengeli. The deep-rooted prejudice against morisco or muslim author makes the readers of Don Quijote do reinterpret the contents and have question about his sincerity. This disbelief is partly on the basis of hypothesis that Don Quijote would be passed on orally by an arabic or morisco. Leaving the hypothesis alone, Romance, festival performances of morisco or the aljamia literature in the Iberian Peninsula have the chivalry or knights of the Occident. The chivalry in Romance of morisco means that morisco would seek assimilation into the mainstream of Occidental Christian community. At the same time, morisco would be faced with the dilemma of loss of religious identity. But Taqiyya, islamic doctrine, offsets the dilemma between yearning to assimilate into mainstream and religious conscience of morisco in that Taqiyya permits morisco to convert to Christianity in case that they are in danger of life or the following risk. From this point of view, There is no room for doubt about the fact that Taqiyya contributed to social assimilation or multicultural society of the Iberian Peninsula. It has been a long time since a narrow-minded religious dogma and ideology became a anachronistic relic in multicultural society of Spain such as the Purity of Blood. From a relative viewpoint, Don Quijote provides a ground for the collective intelligence among christian, muslim(morisco) and converso through a liberal community between readers and authors who form a pluralistic society.
