A Study on Development of the Spatial Network Analysis Tool based on Open BIM Technologies (개방형 BIM 기반 공간네트워크 분석도구 개발에 관한 연구)

  • One distinguishing feature of BIM(Building Information Modeling) is the objectification of spatial elements independently, which makes it easy to represent spatial network. From this perspective, this study aimed to develop the spatial network analysis tool based on open BIM technologies. From the literature review, an object model of spatial network with nodes and links and a process model from construction to visualization were established. A prototype system implementing the proposed models, named SNAT(Spatial Network Analysis Tool), was developed in Java platform with using its open source packages. SNAT can create a spatial network from IFC-BIM model, calculate the indices of spatial network analysis, and visualize it with the representing types(map, graph, matrix and table).

  • A k-out-of-n system with n identical and independent components is considered in which the components takes two types of function: 0 (open-circuit) or 1 (closed) on command (e.g. electromagnetic relays and solid state switches). Components are subject to two types of failure on command: failure to close or failure to open. In our k-out-of-n system, failure of (n-k)+1 or more components to close causes to the close failure of the system, or failure of k or more components to open causes the open failure of the system. The long-run average cost rate is obtained. We find the optimal k minimizing the long run average cost rate for given n. A numerical example is presented.

Estimating Door Open Time Distributions for Occupants Escaping from Apartments

  • The door open time, resulting from occupants evacuating from apartments, is an important parameter when assessing the performance of smoke ventilation systems in high-rise apartment buildings. However, the values recommended in UK design guidance appear to have limited substantiation. Monte Carlo simulations have been carried out considering variabilities in door swing time, flow rate and number of occupants. It has been found that the door open time can be represented by a lognormal distribution with a mean of 6.6, 8.7 and 11.1 s and a standard deviation of 1.7, 3.2 and 4.7 s for one, two and three-bedroom apartments, respectively. For deterministic analyses, it is proposed that the 95th percentile values may be adopted in line with recommended practice for other fire safety design parameters such as fuel load density and soot yield, giving door open times of 10 s to 19 s, depending on the number of bedrooms.

  • 2차원 유동장내 수직 진동하는 원통의 Von Karman 와열 유동 현상에 대한 진동 주파수 계산 문제는 진동하는 물체의 비정상 공력 해석 연구 검증에 많이 사용하는 고전적 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 오픈소스 OpenFoam 기반의 중첩격자 기법을 사용하여 층류 유동장내의 수직방향 진동하는 원통 주변의 비정상 유동 현상과 원통 벽면에서의 공력 특성 변화를 해석하기 위한 일련의 해석 단계들과 결과를 타 연구그룹과 비교하였다. 원통 형상과 진동에 의한 와열 유동의 주기적 유동 특성과 복잡성 해석의 건전성을 확보하기 위하여 격자와 시간제어에 대한 해의 정확도에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 수행한 해석 방법은 일관성과 신뢰성 있는 해석 결과들 보여주었으며, 향후 보다 실제적인 진동하는 에어 포일의 비정상 공력 해석 연구에 적용 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 많은 지리자료에 대한 효율적이고 효과적인 검색 및 다양한 지리자료 데이터 포맷에 대한 데이터 변환에 드는 비용을 최소화하기 위해 지리자료의 공유, 즉 상호운용(Interoperability)에 대한 필요성이 제기되었으며 이를 위한 표준의 하나로 OpenGIS라는 표준이 만들어지고 있다. OpenGIS는 기존의 표준과는 다른 광범위하고 미래지향적인 특징으로 인해 실질적인 GIS 표준으로 자리잡아 가고 있는 실정이지만, 국내에서는 OpenGIS 구현명세에 대한 체계적인 연구 및 여러 GIS 서버를 대상으로 한 실제구현 사례가 거의 없는 실정이다. 이 논문에서는 컴포넌트 기반의 분산환경에 가장 근접해 있는 OpenGIS OLE/COM 구현명세에 대한 분석을 통해 Gothic, MGE, Oracle에 적용하기 위한 OGIS 데이터 제공자의 설계 및 이를 바탕으로 상호운용을 달성하기 위한 OpenGIS 미들웨어의 설계를 제시한다.

  • Open Rotor Engine is one of the several new technologies offering potential solution for the next generation aircraft. The coupling of ultra high bypass ratio and aerodynamically advanced fan blade design allow the open rotor engine to achieve and advantage in fuel consumption. The open rotor engine does have more thrust lapse than the general high bypass turbofan. The open rotor engine performance model was analyzed using a reference data based on the GE36 which was designed and tested data at which time a F404 turbojet was used as the core. The performance model of open rotor engine was verified by referred test data and was evaluated to be properly constructed, through the comparison of recent Next generation turboprop engine performance.

A Study on the Start-up Control for HDD Spindle Motors (HDD 스핀들 모터의 초기 구동 제어에 관한 연구)

  • A HDD adopts a sensorless brushless DC (BLDC) motor as a spindle motor. Because there is no direct sensor measuring rotor position. open loop commutations with inductive sensing are used to increase the rotor speed up to a certain speed where the zero crossings of the back electromotive force (EMF) voltage are measurable. Therefore, successful open loop commutations are necessary for the stable start-up control of the spindle motors. In this paper, the time scale and the number of the open loop commutations are employed for design parameters to guarantee robustness to torque constant variation and initial rotor position. The design results are verified by experiments on a very low current start-up of the spindle motor with various environment. The experimental results show that the design results can decrease the start-up failure rate considerably.

  • This paper addresses the performance of three different types of attitude control systems for the Quad-rotor UAV to perform the flip maneuver. For this purpose, Quad-rotor UAV's 6-DOF dynamic model is derived, and it was used for designing an attitude controller of the Quad-rotor UAV. Attitude controllers are designed by three different methods. One is the open-loop control system design, another is the PD control system design, and the last method is the sliding mode control system design. Performances of all controllers are tested by 6-DOF simulation. In case of the open-loop control system, control inputs are calculated by the quad-rotor dynamic model and thrust system model that are identified by the thrust test. The 6-DOF realtime simulation environment was constructed in order to verify the performances of attitude controllers.

  • Mark-Recapture method for open population commonly use Jolly-Seber method. This method assumes that all animals are equally likely to be caught in each sample (the equal catchability). This objects are making introduction of Mark-Recapture method for open population and using the robust design that combine a open population method with close population method to solve upper problems. Then population growth rate estimators that are derived Pollock's Jolly-Seber parameters and Kendall's Jolly-Seber parameters are estimated.

  • This paper presents a robust tracking controller design method for the track-following system of an optical recording device. A tracking loop gain adjustment algorithm is introduced to accurately estimate the tracking vibration quantity in spite of the uncertainties of the tracking actuator. A minimum tracking open-loop gain is calculated by the estimated tracking vibration quantity and a tolerable limit of tracking error. A robust tracking controller is designed by considering a robust $H_\infty$ control problem with the weighting function of a slightly larger gain than the minimum tracking open-loop gain. The proposed controller design method is applied to the track-following system of an optical recording device and is evaluated through the experimental result.
