  • This study suggests a query conversion method based on Topic Maps MetaData Registry(TMDR) in order to solve heterogeneity problems distributed in networks and to integrate data efficiently. In order to integrate distributed data, TMDR provides global schema and it solves heterogeneity problem within local data using query conversion method. After analyzing relationship between Meta Schema Ontology(MSO) of eXtended Meta Data Registry(XMDR) and Topic Maps, this method allows integrated access through Meta Location(ML) which manages accessing information of local data. The processing method is to produce a global query for global processing by using TMDR and then to make the produced global query approach to systems distributed through networks so that allows integrated access at the end. For this, we propose a method to convert a global query into a query which is adaptive to local query.

  • Recently enterprises introduce EAI systems and legacy business which already obtained for data integration among legacy systems. EAI systems in cooperative transaction environment can be expected efficient retrieval as sharing and integrating. However existing legacy systems have to introduce particular EAI solution because it is difficult to adjust standard technology to EAI due to be managed independently without considering interoperability. For solving these problems we use metadata registry using data integration. Various types, semantic specification data heterogeneity and heterogeneity of systems, however, are occurred. Therefore retrieval system based on XMDR(extended Meta-Data Registry) for data interoperability in the web environment are proposed in this paper.

  • Due to heterogeneity in Data and Processes, healthcare systems are facing the challenge of interoperability. This heterogeneity results in different healthcare workflows of each individual organization. The compatibility of these heterogeneous workflows is possible when standards are followed. HL7 is one of the standards that is used for communicating medical data between healthcare systems. Its newer version V3 is providing semantic interoperability which is lacking in V2. The interoperability in HL7 V3 is only limited to data level and process level interoperability needs to be catered. The process level interoperability is achieved only when heterogeneous workflows are aligned. These workflows are very complex in nature due to continuous change in medical data resulting in problems related to maintenance and degree of automation. Semantic technologies plays important role in resolving the above mentioned problems. This research work is based on the integration of semantic technology in HL7 V3 standard to achieve semantic process interoperability. Web Service Modeling Framework (WSMF) is used for incorporating semantics in HL7 V3 processes and achieves seamless communication. Interaction Ontology represents the process artifacts of HL7 V3 and helps in achieving automation.

  • This study is intended for implementing the system environment that can help integrate and retrieve various types of data in real-time by providing semantic interoperability among distributed heterogeneous information systems. The semantic interoperability is made possible by providing a TMDR(Topicmaps Metadata Registry), a set of ontologies. TMDR, which has been made by combining MDR(MetaData Registry) and TopicMaps and storing them in the database, is able to generate distributed query and provide efficient knowledge. MDR is a metadata management technique for distributed data management. TopicMaps is an ontology representation technique that takes into consideration the hierarchy and association for accessing knowledge data. We have created TMDR, a kind of ontology, that is fit for any system and able to detect and resolve semantic conflicts on the level of data and schema. With this system we propose a query-processing technique to integrate and access heterogeneous information sources. Unlike existing retrieval methods this makes possible efficient retrieval and reasoning by providing association focusing on subjects.

  • To provide context aware service, certain phenomena and situation information of the user should be detecting and monitoring using sensors. But, the sensor data has heterogeneity about system, syntax, structure, and semantics. So, it is difficult to apply to various services. To solve this issue, we should remove these heterogeneities and convert to context information that is easy to provide context aware services. Also, the existing context aware service mash-up environment require relevant sensor type, criteria of context, programing ability to define the service situation. So, it is difficult to create service for a non-technical user. Therefore, we propose ontology based user-centric service environment to provide context aware IoT services. It provide context awareness and user-desired services using data that acquired via IoT paradigm. The proposed environment consist of the ontology based semantic sensor data processing and the user-centric service environment. It provide convert the object data to the context information and service mash-up process to create user service in easy way.

  • This paper proposes a search system using the topic maps that it extends XMDR into Knowledge based XMDR for solving of the problems of the heterogeneity of distributed data on a network and integrate data by an efficient way. The proposed system combined Topic Maps and the extended metadata registry effectively. The Topic Maps represent related knowledge and reasoning relationship by associations of topic. And the extended metadata registry standards and manages the metadata of the local systems through registration and certification on the distributed environment. We also proposed a meta layer, include the meta topic and meta association to achieve semantic classification grouping of topics and to define relationship between Topic Maps and extended metadata registry.

  • The performance of smartphone applications are usually constrained in user interactions due to resource limitation and it promises great opportunities to improve the performance by exploring the smartphone built-in and embedded sensing techniques. However, heterogeneity in techniques, semantic gap between sensor data and usable context, and complexity of contextual situations keep the techniques from seamless integration. Relevant studies mainly focus on feasibility demonstration of emerging sensing techniques, which rarely address both general architectures and comprehensive technical solutions. Based on a proposed functional model, this investigation provides a general architecture to deal with the dynamic context for context-aware automation and decision support. In order to take advantage of the built-in sensors to improve the performance of mobile applications, an ontology-based method is employed for context modelling, linguistic variables are used for heterogeneous context presentation, and semantic distance-based rule matching is employed to customise functions to the contextual situations. A case study on mobile application authentication is conducted with smartphone built-in hardware modules. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed solutions and their effectiveness in improving operational efficiency.

  • A virtual enterprise (VE) can be mapped into a multi-agent system (MAS) that consists of various agents with specific role(s), communicating with each other to accomplish common goal(s). However, a MAS for enacting VE requires more advanced mechanism such as context that can guarantee autonomy and dynamism of VE members considering heterogeneity and complex structure of them. This paper is to suggest a context-based MAS as a platform for constructing and managing virtual enterprises. In the Context-based MAS a VE is a collection of Actor, Interaction (among Actors), Actor Context, and Interaction Context. It can raise the speed and correctness of decision-making and operation of VE enactment using context, i.e., information about the situation (e.g., goal, role, task, time, location, media) of Actors and Interactions, as well as simple data of their properties. The Context-based MAS for VE we proposed('VECoM') may consists of Context Ontology, Context Model, Context Analyzer, and Context Reasoner. The suggested approach and system is validated through an example where a VE tries to find a partner that could join co-development of new technology.

  • This study investigated how adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AT-MSCs) respond to chondrogenic induction using droplet-based single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). We analyzed 37,219 high-quality transcripts from control cells and cells induced for 1 week (1W) and 2 weeks (2W). Four distinct cell clusters (0-3), undetectable by bulk analysis, exhibited varying proportions. Cluster 1 dominated in control and 1W cells, whereas clusters (3, 2, and 0) exclusively dominated in control, 1W, and 2W cells, respectively. Furthermore, heterogeneous chondrogenic markers expression within clusters emerged. Gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes unveiled cluster-specific variations in key biological processes (BP): (1) Cluster 1 exhibited up-regulation of GO-BP terms related to ribosome biogenesis and translational control, crucial for maintaining stem cell properties and homeostasis; (2) Additionally, cluster 1 showed up-regulation of GO-BP terms associated with mitochondrial oxidative metabolism; (3) Cluster 3 displayed up-regulation of GO-BP terms related to cell proliferation; (4) Clusters 0 and 2 demonstrated similar up-regulation of GO-BP terms linked to collagen fibril organization and supramolecular fiber organization. However, only cluster 0 showed a significant decrease in GO-BP terms related to ribosome production, implying a potential correlation between ribosome regulation and the differentiation stages of AT-MSCs. Overall, our findings highlight heterogeneous cell clusters with varying balances between proliferation and differentiation before, and after, chondrogenic stimulation. This provides enhanced insights into the single-cell dynamics of AT-MSCs during chondrogenic differentiation.
