Participants in this study were 220 family caregivers from district dementia centers in Seoul. Family caregiver's usability and needs of online education program were assessed using self-administered questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and t-test comparisons were conducted. About 50% of family caregivers answered they could use and have intention to use online education. The results showed that there were the highest demand for the video lectures which give information about dementia and case video about caregiving skills. There were differences in needs of online program according to the gender and age. The use of online program offers users the opportunity to participate support program at their own time and pace. In order to maximize the effects of online support programs, it is important to establish the strategies of the customized programs considering the characteristics of the caregivers.

  • Objective We developed easily accessible imagery-based treatment program for patients with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) related to workplace accidents and investigated the effects of the program on various PTSD related symptoms. Methods The program was based on an online platform and consisted of eight 15-min sessions that included script-guided imagery and supportive music. Thirty-five patients with workplace-related PTSD participated in this program 4 days per week for 4 weeks. Its effects were examined using self-report questionnaires before and after the take-home online treatment sessions. Results After completing the 4-week treatment program, patients showed significant improvements in depressed mood (t=3.642, p=0.001) based on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), anxiety (t=3.198, p=0.003) based on the Generalized Anxiety Disorder seven-item (GAD-7) scale, and PTSD symptoms (t=5.363, p<0.001) based on the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Check List (PCL). In particular, patients with adverse childhood experiences exhibited a greater degree of relief related to anxiety and PTSD symptoms than those without adverse childhood experiences. Conclusion The present results demonstrated that the relatively short online imagery-based treatment program developed for this study had beneficial effects for patients with workplace-related PTSD.

  • This study is about development and application of a curriculum to implement physical computing education in an online environment for pre-service teachers. First, a 15-week software and physical computing curriculum was designed according to the ADDIE instructional design model. As a tool that can be used online, education was conducted on a program using various sensors using Pocket Code, an EPL based on a smartphone. As a result of the application of the program, Personal efficacy, Pedagogical knowledge, Technology teaching content knowledge, Result expectation, and Student belief were all significantly improved. In the software attitude part, Software interest and Software value part increased significantly, and the Perception of software engineers did not change. In general, in the case of physical computing, it is difficult to execute in an online environment because it involves a lot of manipulation activity. Through various studies that can continue education in a non-face-to-face environment or a blended environment in the post-corona era, it is hoped that it will be possible to provide a high-quality curriculum to pre-service teachers in charge of future education.

  • The landscape of Christian higher education is changing. Students once spent most of their time in a traditional classroom with a professor, but now they take online and hybrid courses (face to face and online). Some students complete their entire degree in a fully online program. Nearly every type of college in the United States offers online courses. Online learning has clearly moved from a fad to a fixture, and nowhere is that more apparent than at one of the largest universities in the country. As the demand for online course and programs increase, teachers and administrators in Christian universities and colleges face new challenges. Even though some teachers and administrators still believe online education is inferior to traditional face-to-face learning, we found no statistically significant differences in standard measures of learning outcomes between students in the traditional classes and students in the hybrid-online format classes. In this situation, since online education will develop continuously, Christian universities should utilize it variously through complete understanding and research about it predicting the future of online education style.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate implications for future STEAM education by analyzing the surveys by the in-service teachers who participated in the Advanced STEAM Teacher Training Program(ASTTP) for raising interests and understanding of science and technology and nurturing STEAM literacy and problem-solving ability of students. ASTTP was developed for promoting 'teacher competence for STEAM.' ASTTP is a 60-hour program(4 credits), which includes offline intensive course of 38 hours, online training course of 12 hours, a course of implementation at schools for 5 hours, and a workshop for 5 hours (based on the 2014 program). For the offline intensive course, teachers take various professional development classes and activities, such as open-laboratory tours, advanced experiments, mentoring programs, and team projects as well as lectures on diverse disciplines. For the online course, teachers take online classes freely while they are encouraged to work with other teachers in groups. After taking both online and offline courses, the teachers are required to implement their STEAM lesson plans in their classrooms. Finally at the workshop, some selected teachers share how successfully they have implemented STEAM education. About 700 teachers have successfully taken the program from 2012 to 2014. Based on the surveys by the teachers, the program has been modified and improved. Our analysis shows increased professional development in STEAM education for the participating teachers. This study can provide some implication and helpful insights for people who need to develop and manage teacher training programs for STEAM education and other education programs in general.

  • This study examined the effects of an online-based learning STEAM program using Metaverse on elementary school students' attitudes toward and satisfaction with STEAM in 197 students in grades 2, 4, and 6 at a rural elementary school. To conduct this study, we developed and implemented a four- to five-lesson online-based STEAM program in each grade level. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The online learning STEAM program had a statistically significant effect on improving elementary school students' attitudes toward STEAM, and students' satisfaction with the program was high. In addition, the pilot teacher said in an interview that 'the students' attention to the program was very high, and it was very interesting to use the Metaverse space'. Based on the results of the pilot, one STEAM program for students and teachers was developed for the fourth and fifth periods of each grade level in elementary school. Online learning programs using Metaverse have the potential to transform education during the pandemic by addressing educational inequalities and providing a flexible learning environment. Therefore, we propose a study on the development of online STEAM programs for middle and high school students.

  • Sexually abused victims suffer not only physical damage, but they may also experience an array of additional problems ranging from acute fear, depressed mood, anxiety, shame, or insomnia to long-term psychiatric disorders. Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is known to have excellent therapeutic effects for trauma victims including victims of sexual violence. CBT treatment includes stress immunity training, relaxation training, and acceptance and commitment therapy. In foreign countries TF-CBT is carried out online in order to increase the therapeutic accessibility for the victim and improve the quality of the interview for the therapists. As a result, those victims who have difficulties in requesting external help, who live in remote areas, or who have limited time may now have access to the service and benefit from the online education programs. A website providing an online based TF-CBT program was initiated in Korea also. Through the website, victims and their guardians may obtain therapeutic information without the need for face-to-face meetings with therapists. Our goal is to create a system with this website which will provide therapeutic assistance to sexual violence victims and improve the quality of the counseling provided by the therapist.
