Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of clinical and psychological factors on the self-concept of children and adolescents with epilepsy. Methods: Children and adolescents with epilepsy (n=60; age range=9-17 years) completed questionnaires about their epilepsy-related variables, self-concept, depressive symptoms, anxiety, family functions, and behavioral problems. The T-test and one-way analysis of variance were used to examine the variables affecting the total self-concept scores. To determine the independent variables by adjusting the significant variables, a stepwise regression analysis was performed. Results: In the correlational analysis, age, depressive symptoms, anxiety, social problems, attention problems, and internalizing problems had significantly negative correlations with self-concept. On the other hand, IQ and family functions showed positive correlations with selfconcept. Age (${\beta}=-0.177$, p=0.015), depressive symptoms (${\beta}=-0.487$, p<0.001), anxiety (${\beta}=-0.298$, p=0.008), and attention problems (${\beta}=-0.138$, p=0.048) were analyzed as independent factors to assess their impact on self-concept, and were found to account for 78.3% of the variance in self-concept by stepwise regression analysis. Conclusion: Parents and clinicians should pay attention to improving the self-concept of children and adolescents with epilepsy, especially if they have problems with depression, anxiety, or attention.
Spiritual health is an important indicator in the quality of life of patients with cancer. The purpose of this study was to validate a Spiritual Health Inventory (SHI) for patients with cancer developed by Highfield (1989). The SHI was translated into Korean, back-translated into English. The study sample was 96 patients with cancer. The data were collected from September, 1999 to February, 2000 for 6 months. Statistic analysis was done with the SPSS PC+ (Version 10.0) program: descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, and one-way ANOVA. The results are as follows : 1. The reliability score was examined using Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ and found to be .79. 2. Construct validity was examined using factor analysis. Four factors were identified and named : (1) Peace of mind (19.1% of variance), (2) Hope (9.7%), (3) Self-esteem (6.4%), (4) Trust (6.0%). The total of 41.2 percent of the variance. 3. The Pearson correlation coefficient score of 4 factors was between r = .24~ .42. 4. SHI was identified as multidimension, that is (1) The relationship with GOD, as absolute being, (2) the relationship with others, (3) the relationship within oneself. 5. There were differences in response in items especially related to GOD. The following recommendations can be made on the above findings : 1. Replicate with a minimum sample of 150 and test for concurrent validity. 2. Since spirituality is a dynamic concept, longitudinal study is also necessary. 3. Concept analysis using a qualitative study based on religious preference is recommended. 4. The items such as 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 indicated conceptual ambiguity for Korean populations and further study is needed on item deletion or new items.
This study aimed to identify the dimensions of benefits and costs that consumers perceive in utilizing locationbased applications (LBAs) on smartphones, and to distinguish consumer groups according to their perceptions of those benefits and costs. A web-based consumer survey was conducted-among consumers who had experience using LBAs. Four hundred participants were 20's to 40's, with 200 women and 200 men. Descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, t -tests, one-way analysis of variance, and cluster analysis were used for data analysis. The findings of this study are as follows: first, LBAs accounted for about 20% of the smartphone apps used by consumers. Second, factor analysis identified the underlying dimensions of the benefits and costs of smartphone LBAs. The underlying dimensions of benefits perceived by consumers were information/economic/convenience, entertainment and personalization. Privacy concerns, lack of trust and lack of behavioral control were the underlying dimensions of the perceived costs of LBAs. Third, ANOVA showed that the perceived benefits and costs of smartphone LBA services differed according to the characteristics of the consumer. Cluster analysis identified three distinctive consumer groups according to the levels of perceive costs and benefits of smartphone LBAs. The three groups were labeled the 'benefit-cost balanced group,' 'cost centered group,' and 'benefit centered group.'

Second, upon examining the hypothesis that vocation has a positive (+) effect on self- development, a significant positive (+) correlation was found between the self-development of beauty industry professionals and job satisfaction. Third, upon examining the hypothesis that occupational vocation has a positive (+) effect on self- development, a significant positive (+) correlation was shown between self-development and job satisfaction of beauty industry professionals.
Objectives: This study was performed to determine whether the combined use of one-bottle self-etch adhesives and composite resins from same manufacturers have better bond strengths than combinations of adhesive and resins from different manufacturers. Materials and Methods: 25 experimental micro-shear bond test groups were made from combinations of five dentin adhesives and five composite resins with extracted human molars stored in saline for 24 hr. Testing was performed using the wire-loop method and a universal testing machine. Bond strength data was statistically analyzed using two way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's post hoc test. Results: Two way ANOVA revealed significant differences for the factors of dentin adhesives and composite resins, and significant interaction effect (p < 0.001). All combinations with Xeno V (Dentsply De Trey) and Clearfil $S^3$ Bond (Kuraray Dental) adhesives showed no significant differences in micro-shear bond strength, but other adhesives showed significant differences depending on the composite resin (p < 0.05). Contrary to the other adhesives, Xeno V and BondForce (Tokuyama Dental) had higher bond strengths with the same manufacturer's composite resin than other manufacturer's composite resin. Conclusions: Not all combinations of adhesive and composite resin by same manufacturers failed to show significantly higher bond strengths than mixed manufacturer combinations.
Pain is subjective, while statistics related to pain research are objective. This review was written to help researchers involved in pain research make statistical decisions. The main issues are related with the level of scales that are often used in pain research, the choice of statistical methods between parametric or nonparametric statistics, and problems which arise from repeated measurements. In the field of pain research, parametric statistics used to be applied in an erroneous way. This is closely related with the scales of data and repeated measurements. The level of scales includes nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio scales. The level of scales affects the choice of statistics between parametric or non-parametric methods. In the field of pain research, the most frequently used pain assessment scale is the ordinal scale, which would include the visual analogue scale (VAS). There used to be another view, however, which considered the VAS to be an interval or ratio scale, so that the usage of parametric statistics would be accepted practically in some cases. Repeated measurements of the same subjects always complicates statistics. It means that measurements inevitably have correlations between each other, and would preclude the application of one-way ANOVA in which independence between the measurements is necessary. Repeated measures of ANOVA (RMANOVA), however, would permit the comparison between the correlated measurements as long as the condition of sphericity assumption is satisfied. Conclusively, parametric statistical methods should be used only when the assumptions of parametric statistics, such as normality and sphericity, are established.
For the vioequivalence study of two ceftriaxone injection formulations ($Rocephin{\circledR}$ ; Roche, and Triaxone ; Hanmi0, the HPLC analytical method for the analysis of ceftriaxone in plasma was used. Fourteen healthy volunteers completed the study and each subject were IM in jected signle doses (1 g) of the test and the reference formulations in a two-way crossover design with an one week drug free interval between doses. Following each administration, plasma concentrations of ceftrixone were monitored over a period of 24 h. Bioequivalence parameters $AUC_{24th}, {\;}T_{max}, {\;}C_{max}$ and MRT determined from the data obtained for the two formulations were examined by analyses of variance (ANOVA) and other criteria and tests for bioequivalence. Results of ANOVA and confidence limits of test/reference ratios of $AUC_{24th}, {\;}T_{max}, {\;}C_{max}$ and MRT, and statistical tests indicated the bioequivalence of the two formulations (i.e., test/reference ratio was within $100{\pm}20%$) except for $T_{max}$ The mean of $T_{max}$ showed only 6. 9% difference from the reference but the detection limit was 22.5% which is slightly over the 20% criteria. No pharmacokinetic parameters including Ka, Kel, Vd and Cl indicated significant difference in between the two fomulations. It was concluded that the data yielded fro the two cefriaxone formulations demonstrated that they were bioequivalent.

The analysis of variance for randomized block design or two way classification data is well known. In this paper, particularly, we considered two stage nested design in which the levels of one factor is not identical for different levels of another factor. We investigate the structural properties of two stage nested design and the properties of error sum of squares for random effect model. For the application of two way nested design, we consider two-period crossover design which is used commonly for the equivalence test to bio-similar product. The confidence interval estimation of the difference of two population means in the crossover design is discussed based on statistical package SPSS.

PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of various protocols and systems for finishing and polishing monolithic zirconia on surface topography, phase transformation, and bacterial adhesion. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Three hundred monolithic zirconia specimens were fabricated and then treated with three finishing and polishing systems (Jota [JO], Meisinger [ME], and Edenta [ED]) using four surface treatment protocols: coarse finishing alone (C); coarse finishing and medium polishing (CM); coarse finishing and fine polishing (CF); and coarse finishing, medium polishing, and fine polishing (CMF). Surface roughness, crystal phase transformation, and bacterial adhesion were evaluated using atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and streptococcal biofilm formation assay, respectively. One-way and two-way analysis of variance with Tukey post hoc tests were used to analyze the results (${\alpha}=.05$). RESULTS. In this study, the surface treatment protocols and systems had significant effects on the resulting roughness. The CMF protocol produced the lowest roughness values, followed by CM and CF. Use of the JO system produced the lowest roughness values and the smallest biofilm mass, while the ME system produced the smallest partial transformation ratio. The ED group exhibited the highest roughness values, biofilm mass, and partial transformation ratio. CONCLUSION. Stepwise surface treatment of monolithic zirconia, combined with careful polishing system selection, is essential to obtaining optimal microstructural and biological surface results.

Seed dispersal supports community structure, maintains genetic connectivity across fragmented landscapes, and influences vegetation assemblages. In the Philippines, only two seed dispersal studies have compared different dispersal agents. We examined the seed dispersal patterns of water, wind, birds, and bats in the Caliraya Watershed, Philippines. We aimed to determine the floral species that were dispersed and how the forest characteristics influenced seed dispersal. By running seed rain traps and drift litter collection from March to June 2022, we analyzed 14,090 seeds in a privately owned study site within the watershed. Water did not exclusively disperse any species and acted as a secondary disperser. Seed density (seeds/trap) was significantly higher for bird-dispersed (n=166) and bat-dispersed (n=145) seeds than for wind-dispersed (n=79) seeds (One-way analysis of variance [ANOVA]: F2,87=16.21, P<0.0001). Species number (species/trap) was significantly higher for bird-dispersed (n=3.7) and bat-dispersed (n=3.9) seeds than for wind-dispersed (n=0.2) seeds (One-way ANOVA: F2,87 =16.67, P<0.0001). Birds dispersed more species because they are more diverse and access a wider variety of fruits, unlike bats. Birds and bats target different fruits and provide separate seed dispersal services. Generalized linear model analyses revealed that the number and basal area of fleshy fruit trees most strongly influenced the bird seed dispersal patterns. Therefore, we recommend a three-way approach to restoration efforts in the Caliraya Watershed: (1) ensure the presence of fleshy fruit trees in restoration zones, (2) assist the establishment of mid-successional and wind-dispersed trees, and (3) intensify the conservation efforts for both flora and faunal diversity.
