A new low conduction loss, low cost zero-voltage-transition power factor correction circuit(PFC) is presented. Conventional PFC which consists of a bridge diode and a boost converter(one switch) always has three semiconductor conduction drops. Two switch type PFCs reduces conduction loss by reducing one conduction drop but the cost is increased because of increased number of active switches. The proposed PFC reduces conduction loss with one switch, which allows low cost. Conduction loss improvement is a little bit less than that of two switch type, but very close up. Operation and features are comparatively illustrated and verified by simulation and experimental results of 1 kW laboratory prototype.

The studies on design and synthesis of new monocyclic ${\beta}$-lactam esters 4(R/S)-(1'-methoxycarbonylpropyl- 2'(R/S)-thio)-3(R)-phenylacetamidoazetidin-2-one (3a) and 4(R/S)-(1'-methoxycarbonyl-2'-methylpropyl-2'- thio)-3(R)-phenylacetamidoazetidin-2-one (3b) were described. Compounds 3a and 3b were specifically designed to retain all penicillin substructures except the bicyclic system, which would be conceived by cleaving the C(3)-N(4) bond of penicillin G. Compounds 3a and 3b are of particular interest in the context of the structural elucidation of monocyclic ${\beta}$-lactams originated from penicillin. Key intermediates, ${\beta}$-mercapto esters 6a and 6b, were synthesized from conjugate acids 4a and 4b using three-step synthetic sequences, respectively, and 4(S)-acetoxy-3(S)-phenylacetamidoazetidin-2-one (7) was obtained from the degradation of penicillin G. Reactions of 6a and 6b with 7, thus obtained, provided the target compounds 3a and 3b, respectively.

The authors investigated the biodegradability and toxicity of polyoxyethylene-alkyl citric diester-triethanolamine(PAT), which is one of new non-ionic detergents. 1) The PAT is very biodegradable, which 50% is biodegraded for one day and 100% for eight days by the activated sludge treatment and 40% for one day and 93% for eight days by the aerobic domestic sewage treatment. 2) $LD_{50}$ of PAT for chicken, mouse, and rat by oral adminstration are 7.1g/kg, 8.4g/kg and 14.0g/kg reactively. 3) $TL_{m}$ of PAT for goldfish is 64.0mg/l in 24bours. 4) No reaction for humun skin is determined by PAT.

According to public and industrial interests on mobile graphics, a preliminary implementation regarding 3D feature visualization system on cell phone was performed using M3G API, one of the de-facto standards for mobile 3D graphic API. Through this experiment, it is revealed that scene graph structure and 3D mobile file format supported from this API is useful one for 3D geo-modeling and rendering in mobile environment. It is necessary that 3D mobile graphic standards can be considered as one component of current mobile GIS services standards to provide value-added 3D GIS contents.

하수처리장과 계곡의 웅덩이에서 채집된 3종의 Gastrostyla 섬모충류가 Gastrostyla minima Hemberger, 1985, G. steinii Engelmann. 1862 그리고 G. setifera (Engelmann, 1862)로 동정되었다. 기재는 생체표본, protargol 염색표본 관찰과 관찰된 표본의 형태통계에 기초하여 기술하였다 이 종들의 형태적 변이는 측정된 형질의 기술통계처리로 분석되었다. 이들 3종은 한국에서 처음으로 기록되는 종으로 아래의 식별형질로 구분된다 G. minima는 일반적으로 2개의 대핵에 구형의 소핵이 하나씩 있고, 하나의 후방구복극모 (poVC, postoral ventral cirri)와 연속적인 복극모섬모열 (VCR, ventral cirral row), 5개의 후방극모 (TC), 6개의 등쪽섬모열에서 네 번째 섬모열은 끊어져 있고 cortical granules들을 가진다. G. steinii는 4개의 대핵과 3-5개의 소핵을 가지고, 하나의 후방구복극모(poVC)와 연속되지 않는 복극모섬모열 , 4개의 후방극모, 6개의 등쪽섬모열을 가지며 cortical granules들이 없다. G. setifera는 2개의 대핵에 구형의 소핵이 하나씩 있고, 두 그룹으로 뚜렷하게 나누어진 5개의 후방극모가 있으며, 6개의 등쪽섬모열, 두개의 후방구복극모와 연속되지 않는 복극모섬모열을 가지며 cortical granules은 없다.

CpG is the pair of nucleotides C and G, appearing successively, in this order, along one DNA strand. It is known that due to biochemical considerations CpG is relatively rare in most DNA sequences. However, in particular subsequences, which are a few hundred to a few thousand nucleotides long, the couple CpG is more frequent. These subsequences, called CpG islands, are known to appear in biologically more significant parts of the genome. The ability to identify CpG islands along a chromosome will therefore help us spot its more significant regions of interest, such as the promoters or 'start' regions of many genes. In this respect, I developed the CpG islands search tool, CpG Islands Detector, which was implemented in JAVA to be run on any platform. The window-based graphical user interface of CpG Islands Detector may facilitate the end user to employ this tool to pinpoint CpG islands in a genomic DNA sequence. In addition, this tool can be used to highlight potential genes in genomic sequences since CpG islands are very often found in the 5' regions of vertebrate genes.

The national 2G-3G roaming is emerging as one of essential and important issues In Korea in connection with the recent granting of 3G licenses. Accustomed to the current seamless coverage and superb quality of 2G networks, many subscribers have very high expectations of an equal or better service provisioning by 3G networks. However, it is very unlikely for 3G operators to successfully build their networks as comprehensive as the current 2G networks in the beginning of network implementation and commercial launch. Therefore,3G operators are seriously considering the national 2G-3G roaming in Korea. In this paper. 1 would like to discuss and present a technical implementation scheme and problems that need to be solved fer successfully realizing the national 2G-3G roaming.

Special attention in the role of convection in vapor crystal growth has been paid since some single crystals under high gravity acceleration of $10g_0$ appear considerably larger than those under normal gravity acceleration ($1g_0$). With increasing the gravity acceleration from $1g_0$ up to $10g_0$, the total molar flux for ${\Delta}T$ = 30 K increases by a factor of 4, while for ${\Delta}T$ = 90, by a factor of 3. The maximum molar fluxes for three different gravity levels of $1g_0$, $4g_0$ and $10g_0$, appear approximately in the neighborhood of y = 0.5 cm, and the molar fluxes show asymmetrical patterns, which indicate the occurrence of either one single or more than one convective cell. As the gravitational level is enhanced form $1g_0$ up to $10g_0$, the intensity of convection is increased significantly through the maximum molar fluxes for ${\Delta}T$ = 30 K and 90 K. At $10g_0$, the maximum total molar flux is nearly invariant for for ${\Delta}T$ = 30 K and 90 K. The total molar flux increases with increasing the gravity acceleration, for $1g_0{\leq}g_y{\leq}10g_0$, and decreases with increasing the partial pressure of component B, a noble gas called as Kr (Krypton), $P_B$. The ${{\mid}U{\mid}}_{max}$ is directly proportional to the gravity acceleration for 20 Torr $P_B{\leq}300$ Torr. As the partial pressure of $P_B$ (Torr) decreases from 300 Torr to 20 Torr, the slopes of the ${{\mid}U{\mid}}_{max}s$ versus the gravity accelerations increase from 0.29 sec to 0.54 sec, i.e. by a factor of 2. The total molar flux of $Hg_2Cl_2$ is first order exponentially decayed with increasing the partial pressure of component B, $P_B$ (Torr) from 20 Torr up to 300 Torr.

Sorbic acid and potassium sorbate are widely used food additives with high efficiancy and they are approved and recommended by FAO and WHO. Sorbic acid is one of preservatives that is mostly used in general food. Sorbic acid and potassium sorbate are used to prevent food, such as cheese, bread, beverage, and so on, from staling and molding. The world market for sorbic acid and potassium sorbate is growing and the market in Asian region is also expected to grow rapidly. This study was carried out to measure the amount of the sorbic acid in cooked meat produced from meat processing plants in Gyeongbuk province during 2000∼2003. One thousand one hundred and thirty-five samples of cooked meat(430 spices added meats, 486 grinding cooked meats, 3 bacons, 23 jerked meats, 68 sausages, 125 hams) were collected from meat processing plants and analyzed for the concentration of preservative sorbic acid by using of high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). Sorbic acid was not detected in spices added meats, grinding cooked meats and bacons, except on jerked meats, ham and sausage. But the concentration range of sorbic acid in jerked meat was 0.00∼1.5g/kg, average 0.37g/kg, and in sausage was 0.00∼1.31g/kg, average 0.53g/kg, and in ham was 0.00∼ 1.22g/kg, average 0.56g/kg. There was no sample that sorbate concentration exceeded the legal permitted level 2.0g/kg in cooked meat.

For a map f : A $\rightarrow$ X, we define and study a concept of $G^f$-space for a map, which is a generalized one of a G-space. Any G-space is a $G^f$-space, but the converse does not hold. In fact, $S^2$ is a $G^{\eta}$-space, but not G-space. We show that X is a $G^f$-space if and only if $G_n$(A, f,X) = $\pi_n(X)$ for all n. It is clear that any $H^f$-space is a $G^f$-space and any $G^f$-space is a $W^f$-space. We can also obtain some results about $G^f$-spaces in Postnikov systems for spaces, which are generalization of Haslam's results about G-spaces.
