The synthetic product of 1-hydroxymethyl-p-mentha-8-ene-2-one was afforded by the reaction between dihydrocarvone and formaldehyde. This reaction involves the aldol condensation. The preferential position of formaldehyde is methyl substituted .alpha.-carbon atom where these enols are regiospecifically formed. The hydroxymethylation of dihydrocarvone was also proved to happen regiospecifically in the position of .alpha.-methyl substituted ketone. When 1-hydroxymethyl-p-mentha-8-ene-2-one reacted with LiAIH$_{4}$, 1-hydroxymethyl-p-mentha-8-ene-2$\beta$-ol obtained. 1-Hydroxymethyl-p-mentha-8-ene-2-one reacted with PDC and chromic acid to give 1-formyl-p-mentha-8-ene-2-one and 1-carboxy-p-mentha-8-ene-2-one. When the hydroxymethyl group of 1-hydroxymethyl-p-menta-8-ene-2-one was reducted to methyl group, 1-methyl-p-menta-8-ene-2-one was obtained. Some of these new compound have certain odor. I, II have woody aroma and IV, V have camphory odors. IX has flowery minty odor.
A one-pass rice whitener with hard metal blades was developed to solve the problems of the existing one-pass rice whitener. The developed one-pass rice whitener was tested and improved through various milling experiments. It showed high performance such as the capacity of 3.5 t/h, the energy consumption of $1.0 kWh/100kg$, milled rice recovery of 91.6%, broken rice rate of 2.2%, the crack rate of 1.9% at the 750 rpm of the roller shaft, compared with those other domestic and foreign one-pass rice whiteners. Especially, it could whiten broun rice of high moisture (16~l7%) with water sprayed at low internal pressure of less than $0.2 kg/cm^2$ and low temperature due to the characteristics of the cutting part composed of 24 hard metal blades. The developed one-pass rice whitener was industrilized and distributed to some rice processing complexs in one fourth price compared with that of imported one-pass rice whiteners.
This paper proposes One Stage MSVQ/DP method for word recognition system university administration branch names are selected for the recognition experiment and 10 LPC cepstrum coefficients is used as the feature parameter. Besides the speech recognition experiments by proposed method, for comparision with it, we perform the experiments on the same data by Level Building DTW and One Stage DP method. The Recognition rates with the LBDTW and the One Stage method are $83.3\%$ and $87.5\%$, but the recognition rate with the proposed method is $91.6\%$.
Let D be an acyclic digraph. The competition graph of D has the same set of vertices as D and an edge between vertices u and v if and only if there is a vertex x in D such that (u, x) and (v, x) are arcs of D. The competition number of a graph G, denoted by k(G), is the smallest number k such that G together with k isolated vertices is the competition graph of an acyclic digraph. It is known to be difficult to compute the competition number of a graph in general. Even characterizing the graphs with competition number one looks hard. In this paper, we continue the work done by Cho and Kim[3] to characterize the graphs with one hole and competition number one. We give a sufficient condition for a graph with one hole to have competition number one. This generates a huge class of graphs with one hole and competition number one. Then we completely characterize the graphs with one hole and competition number one that do not have a vertex adjacent to all the vertices of the hole. Also we show that deleting pendant vertices from a connected graph does not change the competition number of the original graph as long as the resulting graph is not trivial, and this allows us to construct infinitely many graph having the same competition number. Finally we pose an interesting open problem.

The purposes of this study were to assess the preferences for one-dish items and the combination preferences of one-dish items and side dishes that were served and eaten together. Participants were 710 fifth grade of elementary school children who were asked to write three of their favorite one-dish items and to select a preferred side dish among 25 of items for each one-dish item. In this way total 41 one-dish items were assessed to combine with a preferred side dish. The results showed that schoolchildren chose Kuksu as their most favorite one-dish item followed by Jajangmyon and curry rice. Kimchi was the most preferred side dish when they consumed one-dish items, especially Ramyon, Jabchebab, and one-dishes containing much broth. Danmugy was liked when they consumed Gimbab, Jajangbab, and Jajangmeon. Kackdugi was chosen as a favourite side dish when they ate Chungmugimbab and fruit salad was most preferred with Spaggetti. There is a difference in preference for side dishes among the three areas of residence. More schoolchildren in Namhae than in Jinju or in Busan liked Kackdugi when they consumed several one-dish items, like curry rice and Dakjuk.

The purposes of this study were to identify the factors that affect the life satisfaction of unmarried one-person households and to examine how these factors influence this population. This study targeted 308 unmarried one-person households. The results found the following: one-person households without marriage experience had higher levels of job stress than one-person households with marriage experience, and the level of differentiation of family projections was lower; the overall level of life satisfaction was higher in one-person households without marriage experience than in one-person households with marriage experience; in one-person households without marriage experience, higher life satisfaction correlated with higher levels of self-integration, family projection processes, and family retirement differentiation, and lower job stress, which was correlated with higher self-control ability, higher evaluation and higher material support; and life satisfaction was found to be higher in unmarried one-person households that received more information and had a lower age, lower job stress, and higher monthly income. This study contributes to the literature in that it explores how marital experience interacts with demographic variables, occupational factors, psychological factors, and social support factors and consequently affects the life satisfaction of unmarried one-person households.

In this paper, we developed a RFID tag antenna using one-sheet inlay pattern which consist of two different frequencies in one layer. The antenna in one-sheet inlay RFID tag does not use different kind RFID antennas in a card but implement 13.56MHz and 900MHz RFID tag antennas in one sheet. In order to evaluate the usability of proposed method, we configured test equipments and designed 6 different patterns and test the recognition distance of each pattern. Among the one-sheet inlay RFID tag antenna designs, the pattern no.5 has good performance with recognition distance of 5.34m at 900MHz and 3.5m at 13.56MHz.
The asymmetric reduction of representative prochiral ${\alpha},{\beta}$-acetylenic ketones with a new chiral borohydride reducing agent, potassium 9-0-(1,2: 5,6-Di-O-isopropylidene-${\alpha}$ -D-glucofuranosyl)-9-boratabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane, 1, in THF at $-78^{\circ}C$ was studied. Structurally different acetylenic ketones such as internal ${\alpha},{\beta}$-acetylenic ketones $RC {\equiv} CCOCH_3$ and terminal ${\alpha},{\beta}$-acetylenic ketones $HC {\equiv} CCOR$ were chosen. Thus, the reduction of internal ${\alpha},{\beta}$-acetylenic ketones yields the corresponding propargyl alcohols, such as 67% ee for 3-hexyn-2-one, 75% ee for 5-methyl-3-hexyn-2-one, 86% ee for 5,5-dimethyl-3-hexyn-2-one, 74% ee for 3-nonyn-2-one and 61% ee for 4-phenyl-3-butyn-2-one. Terminal ${\alpha},{\beta}$-acetylenic ketones, such as 3-butyn-2-one, 1-pentyn-3-one, 4-methyl-1-pentyn-3-one and 1-octyn-3-one, are reduced to the corresponding alcohols with 59% ee, 17% ee, 44% ee and 12% ee of optical induction respectively. With one exception (4-methyl-1-pentyn-3-one), all propargyl alcohols obtained are enriched in R-enantiomers.
