  • Recently, the research of the FPD(Flat Panel Display)which is substituted for CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) has been widely progressed. But most equipment that are used for production of FPD are expensive and we must import these equipment. Among these equipment, most important one is a auto-alignment system. In this paper, we present a high speed, high precision auto-alignment system, in which a PLD auto tuning algorithm, 1-dimensional CCD(Dcharge Coupled Device) camera, vision board, and vision data processing algorithm are included.

  • Due to the larger and high-speed vessels recently constructed, output and speed of the engines for propulsion or power generation is increasing. These high-power and high-speed engine of the ship is becoming as a major contributor causing excessive noise and vibration. Other fittings as well as equipment installed on board, it makes equipment failure or other defect by resonance. This causes a lot of M/H(Man Hour) for repairs and the reliability of the company is invading even be negative because the clients give much comment. Thus, it's being studied for any fittings installed on board to maintain the safe operation and to prevent any problem during the performance in any operating conditions. In this study, it was investigated to solve these problems for the supports of the various fittings for easy installation-related support that each type of intensity and shape and manufacturing method using structural analysis program(DNV Nauticus Hull 3D Beam). Namely, it would be applied to the very large crude carriers in consideration of mechanics of materials of the support equipment by providing the fact that dynamics analysis of the structural characteristics of the equipment and the support of the production installation is easy and productivity can be high standards for geometry and thereby to simplify the analysis task to design changes at the same time and to minimize the reinforcement for the supports.

  • In this paper, we describe an arrival time guidance system of circular vehicles using GPS, CDMA and TCP/IP technology. The on-board equipment consists of a GPS receiver and a PDA phone. The on-board equipment sends the current position data of the vehicle to the positioning server via CDMA and Internet. The server predicts the arrival time to the next bus-stop. Any user can lookup the current position and the predicted arrival time of the vehicle utilizing his mobile phone, PDA phone, or Web.

  • Simulator is a development equipment which enables the ECU to operate in normal mode by simulating the interface signal between ECU and mechanical system electrically. Embedded simulator means simulation function is embedded in ECU firmware, hence the electrical signal interface is replaced by the substitution of information at system program level. This paper explains the development of embedded transmission simulator for the verification of TCU firmware function which covers shifting control and on-board diagnosis. The embedded simulation program is executed in TCU processor along with the TCU firmware and it provides TCU firmware with not only the speed information those are appropriate both in driving and shifting conditions, but also the fault detection signals. Experimental results show that the validity of embedded simulator and its usefulness to the TCU firmware development and verification.

  • This paper suggests loss analysis and calculation methods for efficiency improvement of power conversion equipment in detail. The detailed loss analysis and calculation has been conducted for 3.3kW On-board Battery Charger considering temperature condition. The validity of the analysis and calculation method is verified by simulation model.

  • While a satellite is carried into orbit by a launch vehicle, it is exposed to the severe launch environment with random vibrations and shock. Accordingly, these vibration sources affect electronic equipment, particularly the printed circuit board (PCB) in the satellite. When the launch load impacts the PCB, it causes negative behavior. This causes perpendicular bending around the boundary of fixation points that finally leads to the failure of solder joints, lead wires, and PCB cracks. To overcome these issues, the electronic equipment design must meet reliability requirements. In this paper, Steinberg's method is used to derive allowable and maximum deflection to verify design from a life perspective concerning the control board of the Antenna Pointing Driver (APD) mounted on KOMPSAT-3.

The effect of satisfaction for on-board training on the training ship to the career motivation (실습선 승선실습 만족이 해기 교육생의 진로 동기에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we investigated how satisfaction with on-board training had an effect on career motivation of the trainees. For this purpose, satisfaction for on-board training and career motivation were used as variables. Satisfaction for on-board training were classified into education, environment and operation, and then measurement items were composed. Career motivation consisted of career identity, career insight and career resilience. To establish and test nine hypotheses, a questionnaire survey was conducted by 57 trainees who participated in the Gyeongsang National University on-board sailing training in 2021. To analyze the questionnaire responses, frequency analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and paired sample t-test were used. As a result of factor analysis, six factors for satisfaction for on-board training were derived. Among the factors, it was analyzed that satisfaction with assignments, the satisfaction with accommodation, and the satisfaction with the adequate condition of facilities and equipment had a significant effect on career motivation. In addition, it was found that career motivation significantly increased through on-board training as a result of comparing the difference between the averages of career motivation before and after on-board training.

  • The Train Networks has a goal which requires the fast and correct data communication for distributable equipment systems. For this, in 1999, some train makers had established the standard TCN(IEC61375-1) for the inter-operating between equipment systems. Recently, TCN is being used in EU, China and the requirement to use it is growing up by many other countries more and more. The TCN was adopted at Korea High-speed Train with first in Korea, and Rotem Company finished the design of TCMS with TCN network for Istanbul EMU and KTX-2 Train and tests them. TCN(Train Communication Networks) defines the set of communication vehicle buses and train buses. The MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus) defines the data communication interface of equipment located in a vehicle and the WTB(Wire Train Bus) defines the data communication interface between vehicles. This paper examines whether the result of on-board test is satisfied with the IEC61375-1(International Electrotechnical Commission 61375-1) which is the international standard of TCN and introduce the results.

Analysis of Trial Test for ATP On-board Equipment of Tilting Train (틸팅열차 ATP 차상장치의 시운전시험 분석)

  • In this paper we describe contents and results on running test for ATP on-board equipment, which has propelled as one of the research projects, so called, "Reliability assessment and operation technology development for Korean-type tilting trains" in order to ensure the safety and operation efficiency of tilting trains. We developed tilting trains for the speed-up of conventional lines and for the passenger service improvement where the KTX is not available. And we made progress the operation trial test in the 120,000 km distance with the use of ATS equipment, used in existing lines, for the purpose of the reliability assessment of the developed tilting trains. We decided to accelerate the speed for more than 200km/h with respect to the 6 existing lines including Jungang-line and Chungbuk-line where KTX has not operated. According to this decision, Train control system is to be changed from ATS to ATP. We should have installed an ATP on-board unit in tilting trains and verified the operational suitability, therefore we installed the same ATP on-board unit on tilting trains as that used in the ATP construction project on Gyeongbu-line and Honam-line, and verified that the function and performance of the installed ATP on-board unit conformed to the tilting trains operation.
