Assessment of Possibility for Unaccessible Areas Digital Mapping Using FDB (FDB를 이용한 비접근지역의 수치지도 제작 가능성 평가)

  • National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency(NGA) developed VPF in mid 1980 to digitalize military geospatial information. However, because VPF is very complicated system and was severly inefficient in producing, maintaining, and managing the data, VPF was required to be replaced by more efficient data format. These requests resulted in an integrated schema, and eventually VPF. The main idea of using FDB in the production of digital map of non-accessible area is to increase the accuracy. This research focuses on the production of high accuracy digital map by utilizing the FDB. The accuracy of digital map by FDB and by DGN was individually compared with 1m CIB imagery of the Korean peninsula. By analyzing 38 check points based on CIB, DGN showed RMSE of 52m X axis and 49m Y axis. FDB showed 15m in X axis and 13m in Y axis. These results show that the digital map produced using FDB has much higher accuracy than DGN based digital map.

THE VIBRATION MODE OF RAILWAY VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO FIND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTION DURING THE OPERATION ON THE TRACK BECAUSE THESE HAPPEN TO INDEPENDENCE OR DUPLICATION MOTION CAUSED BY VEHICLE, WHEEL/RAIL AND TRACK IRREGULARITY ETC. IT IS NAMED AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION THAT THE VIBRATION, WHICH WAS PASSED THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SUSPENSION, IS AFFECTED TO THE PASSENGER WITHOUT DAMPING. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES AN EXPERIENCE EVALUATION TO FIND THE CAUSE OF AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION WHICH WAS HAPPEN AT OPERATING SPEED 60KPH ZONE DURING THE MAINLINE TEST.

  • This paper discusses stability of new simplified sensorless vector control systems of induction motors (IM). The simplified sensorless systems estimate the flux angle by using the output voltage of d-axis PI current controller to achieve the q-axis flux zero. Two simplified sensorless systems are studied. The difference of two systems is the presence or absence of a q-axis PI current controller. The systems stability is compared by deriving linear state equations and showing root loci and unstable regions. Furthermore, transient responses and experiment results make clear the stability of the proposed system.

  • To improve the performance of a bent-axis type axial piston pump driven by the tapered pistons, it is necessary to know the pressure ripple characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to understand the effect on the pressure ripple characteristics and the prediction by comparing experimental and theoretical results. The simulation model of the bent-axis type axial piston pump is developed in the AMESim environment using the geometrical dimension and the driving mechanism of the piston pump. The results can be obtained to predict the performance characteristics of the bent-axis type axial piston pump.

  • In order to the torque control the indirect flux control was performed by controlling the ratio of e/f and the q-axis flux was estimated by the slip command and q-axis flux was estimated by the slip command and q-axis current in the rotor circuits. Also the frequency was controlled to keep on the q-axis flux to be zero and the constant torque characteristics could be obtained by generation the preset torque. In the induction motor driven by the boltage source inverter with the constant voltage and frequency the speed variation is expressed as a slip So the speed control can be achieved by slip compensation The slip was calculated with a q-flux current filtered by first-order filter and as the result the error problem which may occur in current detection was eliminated

  • Nanopositioning technologies play an important role in the progress of electronics, optics, bio-engineering and various nano-scale technologies. As a result, various practical nanopositioning methods have been successfully introduced. Flexure mechanism is a valuable method in nanopositioning because of smooth and friction-free motion and the infinitesimal movement near to sub-nm. In this study a modularized nanopositioner based on parallelogram four-bar linkage structure with right-circular flexure hinge was developed. The positioning performance of a single axis nanopositioner and a XY nanopositioner which was extended from single axis one were demonstrated using control experiments. Consequently, it was shown that the developed single axis nanopositioner possessed high performance and could be extended to various multi-axis nanopositioners.

  • A 5-axis NC milling technology is presented on ruled surface. Problems in 5-axis NC machining are such as tool interference,tool collision and change of tool attitude,etc. The change of tool attitude causes rotation of cutter and variation of feedrate to overcut part surface. This poor control of tool attitude is the primary problem in multi-axis NC milling. This paper observes ruled surface for control of tool attitude. Ruled surface is composed of directrix and ruling, line of constant magnitude. Directrix corresponds to points on part surface and Ruling cutting tool. Trajectory of tool movement corresponds to ruled surface.

  • A fast algorithm for the restoration of an images based on chain codes description using y-axis partition of the starting and ending ponts. The algorithm is to convert the chain codes description into the two y-axis partitions by proposed look-up table. It reduces the size of column elements as a half in y-axis partition. this technique is computationally faster than Shih's methods. comparision of the proposed method and Shih method is also provided.

  • This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration of a waist axis of an articulated robot. This technique is based on a model-based control in order to establish the damping effect on the mechanical part. The control model is composed of reduced-order electrical and mechanical parts. This model estimates a load speed converted to the motor shaft. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically and is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration of a waist axis of the arm. This control model is easily obtained from design or experimental data and can be easily integrated into a DSP. Collision-free tool orientation optimization in five-axis machining of bladed disk

  • Bladed disk (BLISK) is a vital part in jet engines with a complicated shape which is exclusively machined on a five-axis machine and requires high accuracy of machining. Poor quality of tool orientation (e.g., false tool positioning and unsmooth tool orientation transition) during the five-axis machining may cause collision and machine vibration, which will debase the machining quality and in the worst case sabotage the BLISK. This paper presents a reference plane based algorithm to generate a set of smoothly aligned tool orientations along a tool path. The proposed method guarantees that no collision would occur anywhere along the tool path, and the overall smoothness is globally optimized. A preliminary simulation verification of the proposed algorithm is conducted on a BLISK model and the tool orientation generated is found to be stable, smooth, and well-formed.
