  • This study aimed to analyze a driver's night visibility, according to the installation of a lighting system for driving an agricultural machine during the night time. For the night visibility analysis, a luminance measurement test on the lighting system and a gaze duration measurement test through eye movement measurement devices were carried out. In the luminance measurement test, the increase of luminance was confirmed as relative distance from an agricultural machine was closer and the conditions of the lighting equivalence are improved. Also the gaze duration measurement test, total gaze duration from an agricultural machine increased, as the conditions of the lighting equivalence are improved. In addition, it was identified that the difference in average gaze duration from an agricultural machine was statistically significant as the agricultural machine was driven in high speed. In conclusion, when the lighting system is installed on an agricultural machine, a driver's night visibility from the agricultural machine improves, which is expected to be enormously helpful to the prevention of agricultural machine accidents.

  • In order to utilize the information of well-know grinding database or grinding machine characteristics, a database needs to be designed by considering the delicate property of the machine tools for the high precision and quality of the demanding specification. Among the machine tools for the high precision and quality of the demanding specification. Among the machine tools, machining conditions of the grinding are various and knowledge repeatance obtained form the grinding process are less credable. therefore it is desirable for database, which is used to set the grinding conditions, to utilize the maximum machine tool capability. The present paper studied on the occurance limit of chatter vibration and burn considering the characteristics of machine tool. And also basic experiments were performed to establish the optimum grinding conditions which could maximize the grinding efficiency.

  • In this study we analyze research trends on machine learning healthcare based on papers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Korea. In Elsevier's Scopus, we collected 3425 papers related to machine learning healthcare published from 2018 to 2022. Keyword frequency and centrality analysis were conducted using the abstracts of the collected papers. We identified keywords with high frequency of appearance by calculating keyword frequency and found central research keywords through the centrality analysis by country. Through the analysis results, research related to machine learning, deep learning, healthcare, and the covid virus was conducted as the most central and highly mediating research in each country. As the implication, studies related to electronic health information-based treatment, natural language processing, and privacy in Korea have lower degree centrality and betweenness centrality than those of the United States and the United Kingdom. Thus, various convergence research applied with machine learning is needed for these fields.

  • An aspherical lens in information technology has been increased in order to enhance the optical performances. There are two kinds of approaches to machine the aspherica surface is generally conducted by the diamond turning machine, precision grinding machine, and polishing machine. This technique, however, has a problem which needs an expensive and high precision machine in order to increase the surface roughness and the machining accuracy. In this paper, a machine, which is able to machine the aspherical surface, was developed to decrease the cost. Also, the machining of the aspherical surface using a cone was carried out experimentally in order to compare the experiment with the simulation. The results showed that the machining experiments of the aspherical surface by using the titled cone were in accordance with the simulation.

  • This paper presents a structural modification for the performance improvement of a grain sorting machine. The grain sorting machine is used to sort abnormal grains from normal grains such as rice or wheat. Vibration is one of main causes to deteriorate the sorting performance of the machine. Based on the finite element analysis and the experimental modal testing, the vibration characteristics were investigated for the sorting machine. Furthermore, in order to improve the sorting performance of the machine, the frame, chute and base plate of the sorting machine were modified by using the results of the vibration analysis.

  • We present a pipeline to estimate baryonic properties of a galaxy inside a dark matter (DM) halo in DM-only simulations using a machine trained on high-resolution hydrodynamic simulations. As an example, we use the IllustrisTNG hydrodynamic simulation of a (75 h-1 Mpc)3 volume to train our machine to predict e.g., stellar mass and star formation rate in a galaxy-sized halo based purely on its DM content. An extremely randomized tree (ERT) algorithm is used together with multiple novel improvements we introduce here such as a refined error function in machine training and two-stage learning. Aided by these improvements, our model demonstrates a significantly increased accuracy in predicting baryonic properties compared to prior attempts --- in other words, the machine better mimics IllustrisTNG's galaxy-halo correlation. By applying our machine to the MultiDark-Planck DM-only simulation of a large (1 h-1 Gpc)3 volume, we then validate the pipeline that rapidly generates a galaxy catalogue from a DM halo catalogue using the correlations the machine found in IllustrisTNG. We also compare our galaxy catalogue with the ones produced by popular semi-analytic models (SAMs). Our so-called machine-assisted semi-simulation model (MSSM) is shown to be largely compatible with SAMs, and may become a promising method to transplant the baryon physics of galaxy-scale hydrodynamic calculations onto a larger-volume DM-only run. We discuss the benefits that machine-based approaches like this entail, as well as suggestions to raise the scientific potential of such approaches.

  • The need of ultra-precision machine tools, which manufacture and machine the high precision parts used in computers, semi-conductors and other precision machines, has been increased over years. Therefore it is important to design the driving parts, which affect significantly on their performances. In this paper, the dynamic analyses on the belt-driven system were explored. Relation of the acoustical natural frequency and the tension of belt was derived and presented through experiments. Also, while the dynamic loads on motor system were changed, dynamic deflections were calculated through finite element analysis. Nonlinear characteristics of the bearings having an effect on the dynamic performance were studied and the belt connecting the motor (driving part) to spindle of a machine tool (driven part) was modeled as truss and beam elements fur simulations under various conditions, and a beam element model was verified to be more useful.

  • This paper proposed efficient manufacturing system using the OMM (on-machine measurement) system. The OMM system is software based 3D modeler for inspection on machine and it is interfaced tool machine with RS232C. The software is composed of two inspection modules that one is touch probe operating module and the other is laser displacement sensor operating module. The module for touch probe has need of inspection feature that extracted it from CAD data. Touch probe moves to workpiece by three operating modes as follows: manual, general and automatic mode. The operating module of laser displacement sensor is used inspection for profile and very small hole. An Advantage of this inspection method is to be able to execute on-line inspection during machining or after it. The efficiency of proposed system which can predict and definite the machining errors of each process is verified, so the developed system is applied to inspect the mold-base(cavity, core).

  • In operating automated manufacturing system, the long term stability and reliability of NC machine tools become most critical issues. Especially the machining accuracy is dominated by the thermal deformation of machine tools which remains still unsolved and causes troubles in manufacturing operations. Although researches have been carried out on the thermal behavior of a machine tools to minimize or control the thermal deformation of machine tools, the computer models for an analysis of the thermal behacior in machine tools has yet to appear in the open literature. The object of the paper is to present a method of modeling the thermal behavior of a machine tool. The method will make use of finite elements ad be capable of modeling whole machine structures as well as of heat generation processes in the kinematic system components. And temperature distributions and thermal deformations of a CNC lathe are analyzed using the finite element method and are compared with those measured in practice.

  • A Crankshaft multi grinding machine is developed for manufacturing of high precision crankshaft. The grinding head part of the developed machine should be moved precisely during grinding of work materials. In this paper, structural and modal analysis for the crankshaft multi grinding machine is carried out to check the design criteria of the machine. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using the commercial software. The machine is modeled by placing proper shell and solid finite elements. The results of structural and modal analysis confirmed that the structural characteristics of grinding machine and the structural safety are considered secure.
