A Study on the Precision Hole Machiningof Pre Hardened Mould Steel (프리하든 금형강의 정밀 홀 가공에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, precision processing is carried out for the pre hardened steel(HRC 54), which is one of injection mould materials. Processing characteristics are estimated according to the number of tool cutting blade and roundness is observed by the 3-Dimensional measuring machine. The surface roughness affected by the wire electric discharge machining are measured. Cutting component force of STAVOX is the highest in condition of 2F processing because load per a blade of cutting tool is high. Especially, the difference in Fz is over 20N by cutting load. The slower spindle rotation speed and tool feed rate are, the better cutting component force is. The roundness of hole processed in condition of 4F is good because feed rate is able to be fast. When rotation speed is increased, the surface roughness is decreased. The surface roughness acquired in condition of 2F processing is higher about 50% than 4F processing.

Squareness Estimation for Coordinate Measuring Machine Using the Laser Interferometer Measurement Based on the Face-Diagonal Method (Face-Diagonal 방법 기반의 레이저 간섭계 측정을 이용한 CMM 의 직각도 추정)

  • The out-of-squareness is one of the error sources that affect the positioning accuracy of machine tools and coordinate measuring machines. Laser interferometer is widely used to measure the position and angular errors, and can measure the squareness using an optical square. However, the squareness measurement using the laser interferometer is difficult, as compared to other errors due to complicated optics setup and Abbe's error occurrence. The effect of out-of-squareness mainly appears at the face-diagonal of the movable plane. The diagonal displacements are also affected by the position dependent geometric errors. In this study, the squareness estimation techniques via diagonal displacement measurement using the laser interferometer without an optical square were proposed. For accurate estimation and measurement time reduction, the errors selected from proposed discriminant were measured. Discrepancy between the proposed technique with the laser interferometer (with an optical square) result was $0.6{\mu}rad$.

  • Machining information such as form accuracy and surface roughness is an important factor for manufacturing precise parts. To this regard, OMM (On the Machine Measurement) has been researched for last several decades to alternate CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) process. In this research, the OMM system with a laser displacement sensor was developed for measuring form accuracy and surface roughness of the machined workpiece on the machine tool. The surface roughness was estimated comparing the sensory signal with the reference data measured from master specimen. Also, form accuracy was determined from the moving averaged raw data. In addition, the geometric error map constructed beforehand using the geometric errors of the machine tool was used to compensate the obtained form accuracy. The overall performance was compared with CMM result, and verified the feasibility of the measurement system.

  • This study is concerned about the design and development of three dimensional bending machine. The purpose of this study is design and development of three-dimensional bending machine by analysis of bending process and structural analysis simulation. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using DEFORM and CATIA V5 software. Based on this study, the three dimensional bending machine was developed. In order to evaluate a performance and reliability of the developed three dimensional bending machine, we used laser interferometer and three axial measuring system.

  • The gains fur NC controller parameter are fixed when the controller is combined with a machine. However, the characteristics of controller could be changed as it has being used by the machine or other environmental conditions. Those result in that the tool positioning accuracy is influenced. The loading torque in servo motor influences on the tool positioning accuracy and it is controlled by the parameter gains. It is required to analyze the torque variation with angular positioning accuracy of the servo motor. This study focus on a measuring method and device for verifying angular positioning accuracy of NC servo motor. We used a high resolution An converter for acquiring analogue signal of rotary encoder in servo motor. The positional accuracy for a nominal tool path, which is generated by the combination of axial movements (X,Y,Z), is analyzed with the servo motor torque. The current variation signal is acquired at the power line using a hall sensor and converted to the loading torque of servo motor. The method of measurement and analysis proposed in this study will be used for determining the gains of parameter in NC controller. This gain tuning is also necessary when the controller is set up at a machine.

  • Optical system needs to be aligned before its undergoing process, is usually shows coma aberrations, which occurred due to imperfection in the lens or other components results in off-axis point sources, appearing to have a tail like a comet. There are some methods to correct coma aberration. In this paper, to correct coma aberration in optical system, using a robot arm type coordinate measuring machine(CMM). CMMs are widely used to measure the form of accuracy of parts and positioning accuracy of systems. Among them, robot arm type CMM has more advantages than the others, such as its mobility and measuring range. However, robot arm type CMM has lower accuracy than cantilever type CMM. To prove robot arm type CMM's accuracy, several factors were suggested in this paper and the final measuring results were compared to a commercial cantilever type CMM. Based on this accuracy, a typical optical system was successfully aligned by using our robot arm type CMM.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish an effective inspection system by using OMM (On-Machine Measurement) system based PC-NC. This system can reduce manufacturing lead time because part is inspected each process. Inspection process planning is accomplished by determining the number of measuring points, their location, measuring path using fuzzy logic, Hammersley method, traveling salesperson problem. Inspection with contacted sensor improve quality as inspection feature is developed to based machining feature. This method is tested by simulation and experiment, then analyzed measuring data and geometry tolerance.

  • Noncontact measuring methodology of 3-dimensional profile using CCD camera are very attractive because of it's high measuring speed and its's high sensitivity. Especially, when projecting a grid pattern over the object the captured image have 3 dimensional information of the object. Projection moire extract 3-D information with another grid pattern in front of CCD camera. However phase measuring profilometry(PMP) obtain similar results without additional grid pattern. In this paper, new method for grid pattern generation system by polygonal mirror and Laser Diode. This system is applied the projection moire and the PMP.

  • This paper described about the ultra-precision profile measurement of aspheric surfaces using contact probing technique. A contact probe has been designed as a sensing device to obtain measuring resolutions in nanometer regime utilizing a circle leaf spring mechanism and a capacitive-type sensor. The, contact probe is attached on the z-axis during measurement while aspheric object are supported on the diamond turning machine(DTM). The machine xz-axis motions are monitored by a set of two orthogonal plane mirror type laser interferometers. Experimental results show that the contact probing technique developed of on-machine measurement system in this investigation is capable of providing a repeatability of 10 nanometers with a $\pm$20 uncertainty of 200nmPv.
