Needs on the living environments in Daejon City (대전시 노인의 거주환경에 대한 요구)

  • The increasing elderly population and elderly household are very serious problem in our time. They are weaker physically and mentally than they were in the past. There is hardly a house with floor and facility design for them. So the purpose of this study is to find the need of the elderly for the living condition in Daejeon city. Their needs of interior are invested by questionnaire for elderly over 65 years old. Remarkably, they are not unsatisfied the present condition in spite that it is not agreeable in fact. The informations, for example the equipments and remodeling, to make their life more conveniently are not noticed to them fully. And they point up the emergency bell, the handiness of controlling windows, getting rid of the difference of thresholds, non-slip materials, grab bars around the a chamber pot and the expediency of controlling a tap as important things to select a house. First of all the sensitive considerations to make their living comfortable by designers are needed absolutely and the publicity work to notice the beneficial inform for them is needed.

SNU Astronomical Observatory 1-m Telescope

  • Astronomy education and research can benefit from a high performance telescope that is easily accessible in campus. Such a facility allows hands-on education of observations, small research projects, test of new instruments, and time-domian study of astronomical phenomena. Recently, SNU reconstructed a 40-year old observatory (also known as 구천문대), and established the new SNU Astronomical Observatory (SAO) on that site. On 2018 March 27, the 1-m optical telescope was successfully installed at SAO. Since then, this telescope has been producing wonderful images. This poster will give an overview of the 1-m telescope, and its performance.

The Effect of Decline in Functional Ability on Relocation among the American Elderly aged 70 or older (노년기 생활기능 감소와 주거이동에 관한 연구 -미국의 70세 이상 노인들을 대상으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of functional ability on relocation among the elderly. Longitudinal data from the Asset and Health Dynamics among the Oldest Old (1993, 1995) were analyzed for 6,225 respondents aged 70 or older. Among functional ability measures, difficulties in advanced activities of daily living (i. e., making telephone calls, taking medications, and managing money), lower body activities (i. e., walking several blocks, climbing one flight of stairs, pulling or pushing large objects, and carrying over 10 pounds), and household activities of daily living (i. e., preparing hot meals and shopping for groceries) were the predictors of increased residential move. Difficulties in basic activities of daily living (i. e., bathing, dressing, getting in and out, and using the toilet) were strongly related to increased entrance into an institutional care facility. Efforts to enhance the independent living of the elderly in the community setting should target the compensation of these functional difficulties.

  • Currently the technique of composite material field is developed day by day. The many kinds industrial facility and life articles are coming to make with the composite material. But still the engineering works field the building and the bridge uses the material which is old era and is making. To here there is a various problem but the biggest problem the theory of the composite material is complicated too and means that the application is been delayed about constructive structure. When the composite material is used widely from constructive field, too with difficult theory in technical expert and easily with the research for the experiment data accumulation is necessary. The tensile and fatigue test of the carbon/epoxy which is a high-class composite material led from the present paper consequently and the change of the intensity coefficient which follows in repeated load researched.

EXPERIMENTAL AND COMPUTATIONAL PREDICTION OF CONCENTRATION OF CARBON MONOXIDE GAS RELEASED FROM EXHAUST TUBE OF GAS BOILER (가스보일러 배기통 이탈에 의한 CO가스 누출확산 실험 및 수치해석)

  • In the last five years, 45 people died and 104 were wounded because of carbon monoxide poisoning accident. CO poisoning accident is higher than any other gas accident in the rate of deaths/incidents. Most of these CO poisoning accidents were caused by defective exhaust tube in the old gas boiler and multi-use facility. In this study, the spread of CO gas released from leakage hole of exhaust tube was analyzed by computational flow modeling and concentration measuring test. CO gas leaked form exhaust tube in a building was highest concentrated near the ceiling and formed the circular currents along the walls. Through these experiments and simulation, the reasonable installation location of CO alarm was made certain and suggested.

  • Till now, the roles of a tradition market were a circulation of the necessities of life, a employment market of local society, a center of community, and a main structure of local economy. Recently, these tradition market is on the decline because it couldn't cope with the internal and external changes. It is recognized that these phenomenon is a factor of economy unbalance. So, to activate the local economy, tradition market should be promoted. Therefore, external changes such as the increase of competition intensity and the changes of consume pattern, internal changes such as the deterioration of facility and old fashioned management were analysed. The activation plan of traditional market were suggested through the decision index for the tradition market in this study.

Story Making Activity with Fantasy Picture Books : Effect on the Language Expression and Creativity of Young Children (환상동화를 통한 이야기 꾸미기 활동이 유아의 언어표현력 및 창의성에 미치는 효과)

  • Participants in this study of the effect of story making activity on the language expression and creativity of young children were all forty 5-year-old children in a child-care facility. The experimental group read the fantasy picture book and engaged in story making activity; the control group read the same fantasy picture books the experimental group but didn't have any story making activity. Experimental treatments were given twice a week for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed by MANCOVA using scores of the pre-test as covariance. Differences were found between experimental and control groups in language expression and creativity showing that story making activity using the fantasy picture book was more effective than just reading without story making activity.

  • Recently, our country is caused with economic growth and development and city intensive brazier being caused by industrial accident, crime accident and suicide of traffic facility, it is caused by with Western dietary life and the emergency patient is to an increase tendency. And the life increases with medical development and the medical emergency demand of the old people are increasing. Approximately 80% of the patients are non-emergent patients who receive ambulatory care and the rest 20% of the patients are serio us- emergent patients Emergency patients because non-strategy it is doing with function as imported medical treatment and provides, equipment, the operation is being impossible with manpower tribal etc.

  • Scheduling of dismantling old research reactor need to consider time, cost and safety for the worker. The biggest issue when dismantling facility for research reactor is safety for the worker and cost. Large portion of a budget is spending for the labor cost. To save labor cost for the worker, reducing a lead time is inevitable. Several algorithms applied to reduce read time, and safety considered as the most important factor for this project. This research presents three different dismantling scheduling scenarios. Best scenario shows the specific scheduling for worker and machine, so that it could save time and cost.
