Oka strain VR-795 (Varicella Zoster Virus, VZV) of American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) has been used for chickenpox vaccine production. In order to use this strain for vaccine production, the strain must be identified and its stability must be confirmed. The identification of the Oka strain has been confirmed using Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) and DNA sequence analysis of glycoprotein-II (gp-II). The amino acid sequences of Oka deduced from the DNA sequence of gp-II have changed at three amino acids against Ellen and at one amino acid against Webster. To prove the stability of the Oka strain during the passage, RFLP and DNA sequence analyses were also used with 11, 15 and 23 times of virus passage. We found that the Oka strain was stable at passages of up to 23 times, based on the RFLP and DNA sequence analyses. The confirmed Oka strain was renamed as BR-Oka for the purposes of chickenpox vaccine production.

To investigate less toxic antiviral agents from Basidiomycetes, EA, the water soluble substance, was isolated from the carpophores of Elfvingia applanata (pers.) Karst. Anti-varicella zoster virus (Oka strain; anti-VZV/Oka) activity of EA was examined in MRC-5 cells by plaque reduction assay in vitro. And the combined antiviral effects of EA with nucleoside anti-VZV agents, acyclovir and vidarabine, were examined on the multiplication of VZV/Oka. EA exhibited a concentration-dependent reduction in the plaque formation of VZV/Oka with a 50% effective concentration $(EC_{50})$ of $464.14\;{\mu}g/ml$. The results of combination assay were evaluated by the combination index (CI) that was calculated by the multiple drug effect analysis. The combination of EA with acyclovir showed more potent synergism with CI values of $0.18{\sim}0.62$ for $50{\sim}90%$ effective levels than that of EA with vidarabine with CI values of $0.67{\sim}1.04$.

잔나비걸상 Elfvingia applananta 자실체의 수용성성분 EA의 varicella zoster virus(Oka strain; VZV/oka)에 대한 항바이러스효과를 plaque reduction assay에 따라 실험한 결과 EA는 용량의존적으로 plaque 형성을 억제하였으며 $EC_{50}$는 $464.14\;{\mu}g/ml$이었다. EA와 단백질성 항바이러스제인 interferon(IFN) alpha 및 IFN gamma와의 병용시험 결과, 단독처리시와 병용처리시에 m(slope) value가 서로 유사한 값을 보였으므로 이들은 상호 배타적인 약물(mutually exclusive drug)임을 알 수 있었고, IFN alpha와의 병용시 combination index(CI)는 f(a)가 0.50에서 0.90인 유효농도 범위내에서 $0.83{\sim}1.09$의 값을 나타내어 부분적 상승 또는 상가효과를 보였으며, IFN gamma와의 병용시에는 $1.20{\sim}1.24$를 나타내어 길항효과를 보였으므로, IFN alpha와의 병용이 IFN gamma와의 병용보다 더 우수한 병용효과를 나타내었다.

Motion blur of LCD displays has been measured subjectively by using Gabor patch radiusese. Gabor radiuses at a normalized scroll speed, Scroll speed times Fc, to be unity, indicate motion blur strengths, which are named a perceived motion blur strength measured by a Gabor patch. The results are compared with eye perception, PBET and EBET.

The following classical Oka-Weil approximation theorem on pseudoconvex domains in $C^n$ is well-known. Suppose that $M \subseteq C^n$ is pseudoconvex and that K is a compact subset of M with K = K, where K is the usual holomorphic hull of K in M. Then any function holomorphic in a neighborhood of K can be approximated uniformly on K by functions holomorphic on M (see [5], [6]).

하천의 각종 용수 수요급증지역에서의 저수및 갈수시에는 한정된 수자원의 공급능력에 비해 각종용수의 수요가 크게 증가하므로 수자원을 적정 배분하는 데에는 물의 부족으로 인하여 많은 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 저수및 갈수시 각 수요점 별로 필요한 용수를 확보하기 위하여 용수사용의 우선권을 고려한 수자원 최적배분 모형을 개발할 필요성이 있다. 본연구의 목적은 Out of Kilter Algorithm(OKA)를 이용하여 저수및 갈수시 용수사용의 우선순위에 따른 수자원 배분을 실시하기 위한 알고리즘을 구성하고, 이를 실제 유역에 적용하므로서 그 유용성과 신뢰성을 입증하고자 한다.

This study was to compare the quality of image by different screen and film combinations. Using the sensitometer measured the speed and average gradient of blue sensitive films and orthochromatic films. The films was combined with rare earth screen LR, LM, LF and conventional screen OM, OH, XOR, OKa and exposed the step wedge to impulse 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 15, 24,3 8, 60 and measured the density. The following results were obtained: 1. The density of film and film-screen combinations showed significant difference, then in film-screen combinations was significantly different by the screens than films. 2. The speed of blue sensitive films was little different, the TMG of orthochromatic films produced high speed, and the AX film was high average gradient. 3. The relative speed of film-screen combinations showed significant difference, and was high in the OKa of the conventional screens and in the LR of the rare earth screens, especially that of LR screen in the combination with blue sensitive films was high. 4. The average gradient of film-screen combinations showed no significant difference, and was high in the OKa screen and LR/OG combination, and that of OKa/AX combination was highest. 5. The latitude of film-screen combinations showed significant difference by screens, and was high in the LM screen in combination with blue sensitive films and in the OM screen in combination with orthochromatic films. 6. The subject contrast of film-screen combinations showed significant difference by screen, and was high in the LR screen in combination with blue sensitive AX film and orthochromatic TMG film.
