Lubricant oil is needed in air conditioning and refrigeration system because the compressor requires oil to prevent surface to surface contact between its moving parts, to remove heat, to provide sealing, to keep out contaminants, to prevent corrosion, and to dispose of debris created by wear. Thus, the oil separation in an oil separator is one of the most important characteristics for proper compressor operation. In this study, a gravity type of oil separator is used. Oil separation characteristics have been investigated for $CO_2$/PAG mixture in the range of oil concentration 0 to 5 weight-percent and the mixture temperature range of $0^{\circ}C$ to $15^{\circ}C$ at 50 bar and $70^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$ at 80 bar. The results obtained indicate that the oil separation is increased with an increase in the oil concentration. It is also found that the oil separation in liquid state is increased with an increase in the mixture temperature while the oil separation in gas state is decreased.

Carbon dioxide ($CO_2$, R-744) has become a very popular issue in application to refrigeration and air conditioning systems as a natural refrigerant. An experimental study has been carried out to investigate miscibility and the vapor pressure of refrigerant R-744 in the presence of lubricant oil. This is of particular interest in the selection of the lubricant oil for the compressor of a refrigeration system or an air conditioning system using the refrigerant R-744. The experimental set-up consists of the equilibrium cell, measuring devices, the vacuum pump, the constant temperature bath and relevant connecting pipes made of stainless steel. Five lubricant oils, such as mineral oil (Naphthenic), AB (Alkyl Benzene) oil, PAO (Poly Alpha Olefin) oil, PAG (Poly Alkylene Glycol) oil and POE (Polyol Ester) oil are considered in the present study. Test runs were conducted with the oil concentration range from 5 to 50 wt%, and the temperature range from -10 to 1$0^{\circ}C$ with 2$^{\circ}C$ intervals. The miscibility results are visualized and correlated with the vapor pressure for the individual test components.

An analytical study was carried out to investigate the performance of an oil pumping system of a variable speed compressor using a commercial CFD program. The simulations for the oil supplying system with the oil and air mixture were performed by varying compressor speed from 40 Hz to 90 Hz. Comparing the predicted with the measured data on the modified scroll compressor validated the simulation model. The predicted results were consistent with the test data with a maximum deviation of 12.8%. The oil flow rate significantly increased with a rise of compressor speed due to a higher oil flow rate from the swing pump and a greater centrifugal force on oil gallery.
Patchouli oil extraction in general is still using conventional methods that require a long time of extraction. It is therefore necessary to develop extraction methods to obtain patchouli oil with optimum yield and quality. One of the new methods, which has been successfully developed, is microwave hydrodistillation (MHD). In addition to optimizing the extraction process of patchouli oil, this study also used microwave air-hydrodistillation (MAHD). Based on the research results, extraction using MAHD method can produce higher yield of patchouli oil when compared using MHD method. Also, based on the results of the analysis by GC-MS, extraction using MAHD method can produce quality of patchouli oil that is almost the same when compared using MHD method. This is supported by the results of the analysis by GC-MS, which showed that the content of patchouli alcohol is the main component of patchouli oil, and is almost the same for patchouli oil extracted using MHD method (26.32%) and MAHD method (25.23%).

As the large Coolant amount used of a machine holds mass serious trouble recently, an environment pollution is increased, and a machine is conquering large specific gravity in an empty cost plane. It is the stage that must reexamine the parts washing that processing is later with this current way or a problem of a liquid waste treatment back. The environmental problems by using coolant demanded the new cooling methods. As one of them, the studies on the grinding with compressed cold air and oil mist have been done. The cooling method using compressed cold air was effective through going down the temperature of compressed air supplied below -$25^{\circ}C$ and increasing the amount of compressed cold air, but had not enough cooling effect due to the low performance of lubrication. Therefore, the cooling methods using oil mist newly were suggested. This method can satisfy both cooling effect and lubrication with only small amount of coolant, also have the benefit in the point of decreasing the environmental pollution. This paper focused on analyzing the grinding characteristics of the cooling method using oil mist. The grinding test according to compressed cold air and oil mist supply direction were done.
In this study, fuel qualities including kinematic viscosity and pour point in the various temperature, calorific value and combustion characteristics of two biodiesels based on the soybean and waste oil blended with light oil were investigated and discussed in order to figure out to confirm fuel compatibility taking the place of light oil in the hot air heater or boiler. As biodiesel content ratio increased calorific value of biodiesel decreased, and the difference was 13% between 100%-biodiesel and light oil. In general, pour points of the biodiesels were higher than light oil, and as biodiesel content ratio increased pour point increased. About 15 cSt was the pour point of biodiesels and light oil, which occurred at 3 to $4^{\circ}C$ in the biodiesels and $-25^{\circ}C$ in the light oil. Flame dimensions of biodiesels and light oil were almost same at the same combustion condition in the burner of the hot air heater. CO concentrations in the exhaustion gas were far lower than those of the light oil. Though pour point of biodiesel is a little inferior to light oil, still biodiesel can be an alternative fuel substituting for light oil in combustion system without much modifying the current oil combustion mechanism.
These studies were carried out to investigate the fumigation and contact toxicities of spearmint oil (Mentha spicata) against adults of greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum and sweet-potato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci. And we carried out the constituent analysis of spearmint oil using gas chromatograph (GC) and gas chromatograph mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Spearmint oil showed $99.1\%,\;91.7\%,\;41.1\%$ fumigation toxicity against T. vaporariorum adults at $10{\mu}L/954mL,\;5{\mu}L/954mL,\;1{\mu}L/954mL$ air concentration, respectively. In case of B. tabaci adults, spearmint oil showed $100\%,\;100\%,\;61.3\%$ fumigation toxicity, respectively. However, spearmint oil showed < $30\%$ contact toxicity against adults of T. vaporariorum and B. tabaci. Through the constituent analysis using GC and GC/MS, we confirmed main constituents of spearmint oil were limonene ($16.1\%$), ${\gamma}$-terpinene($13.8\%$), ${\rho}$-cymene($5.8\%$), 3-octanol($6.9\%$), carvone($40.9\%$). Carvone, major constituent of spearmint oil, also showed $100\%$ fumigation toxicity at $10{\mu}L/954mL$ air concentration.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of form-oil on steam-cured concrete surface condition. Based, viscosity(high, medium, low) and flash point($26^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$) of form oil were considered as test variables. The digital image process method was applied for the extraction of air-void area from concrete surface. Test result showed that oil-based form oil reduced air-void by approximately 46% compared to water-based form oil, and the higher the viscosity was, the smaller air-void rate was. In addition, it was conformed that flash point of form oil had a considerable influence on the surface condition of steam-cured concrete.

Vapor oil fer radiator fm press in heat exchangers of air conditioners is carefully considered as the cooling performance can be affected by the residual vapor oil on the surface of radiator fin after fin press working. In this work, vapor oil for radiator fin press was developed in consideration of several properties such as physical characteristics, the rate of volatility, hazardous properties and material compatibility. In addition, it was confirmed that radiator fin press workability adopting the vapor oil and the cooling performance of air conditioner using the radiator fin were good.

The influence of aerated oil on a high-speed proceeding bearing is examined by using the classical thermohydrodynamic lubrication theory coupled with analytical models for viscosity and density of air-oil mixture in fluid-film bearing including the live surface tension of aerated oil. Convection to the walls and mixing with supply oil and re-circulating oil are considered. The considered parameters for the study of bubbly lubrication are oil aeration level, air bubble size and shaft speed. The results show that, if the live surface tension is considered, the effect of air bubbles on the bearing load capacity is reduced due to temperature engagement comparing with that under the condition of a constant surface tension.
