예연소실식 디젤엔진의 분구 형상 변화에 따른 연소 특성 연구 (Study on Combustion Characteristics of Pre-combustion Chamber Type Diesel Engine with Different Throat Shape)

  • Pre-combustion chamber type indirect diesel engines have different combustion characteristics compared with those of common rail direct injection engine. The CONVERGE, specific engine CFD program, was used to simulate hollow cone spray model and combustion. The air-fuel mixture flow propagating from pre-combustion chamber to cylinder was concentrated at top half and center of the pre-combustion chamber throat. Stronger mixture flow was formed at smaller and longer throat cases. As a result, thermal efficiency and fuel consumption were improved for modified throat shape and the soot emission was also reduced.

  • This paper describes traveling systems consisting of one major-wheel and three minor-wheels attached to each tip of three spokes. A link of inter-axle plays an important role of the system. It connects secondary axle to the major wheel axle. Its length is determined to ascend stably various stairs. The systems was designed to mount a cart for carrying agricultural products. The systems was applied to ascend stairs, travel on sand and cross a obstacle, despite of simple design.

  • In this study an ANFIS-based trajectory tracking motion control algorithm is proposed for autonomous garage and parallel parking of a model car. The ANFIS controller is trained off-line using data set which obtained by Mandani fuzzy inference system and thereby the processing time decreases almost in half. The controller with a steering delay compensator is tuned through simulations performed under MATLAB/Simulink environment. Experiments are carried out with the model car for garage and parallel parking. The experimental results show that the trajectory tracking performance is satisfactory under various initial and road conditions

  • Head-Up Display system makes it possible for the driver to be informed of important vehicle data such as vehicle speed, engine RPM or navigation data without taking the driver's eyes off the road. Long focal length optics, LCD with bright illumination, image generator and vehicle interface controllers are key parts of head-up display system. All these parts have been designed, developed and applied to the test vehicle. Virtual images are located about 2m ahead of the driver's eye by projecting it onto the windshield just below the driver's line of sight. Developed head-up display system shows satisfactory results for future commercialization.

  • 지형공간정보체계와 지도학적 모델링 기법이 전형적인 토지이용계획과정을 개선시키는 방안으로 활용되었다. 미국 국립산림지역에서는 ORV전용도로, 산림 생산지, 산림 우송도로 및 야생동물 서식처 동의 토지이용이 복합적으로 결정되어야 한다. 이러한 복합적 토지이용에서 나타나는 상충성을 해결하기 위해 자동적인 지도공간 모델이 개발되었다. 서술적 모델링과 기술적 모델링기법은 복합적 토지이용의 결정을 효율적이고 효과적으로 처리할 수 있었다.

  • Of those off-road diesel engines, the railroad diesel rolling stocks (RDRS) for passenger and freight transportation become a growing issue since they are emitting enormous amounts of various air pollutants. Furthermore, up to the present time, emissions from these sources are not well controlled. One of main purposes in this study is to develop emission factors for the RDRS and to estimate a total amount of major air pollutants from the RDRS in Korea. Prior to develop a Korean mode emission factor, the emission factor from the USEPA was simply applied for comparative studies. As a conclusion, based on the emissions calculated from both the USEPA mode and the KoRail mode, the RDRS is considered as one of significant mobile sources of major air pollutants including NOx and CO, and thus management plans and control strategies for the RDRS must be established to improve air quality near. future in Korea.

  • In this paper, we propose a new obstacle negotiation method for the rescue robot. The rescue robot has a variable geometry single-tracked mechanism, so it can maximize a contact length with ground for the adaptability to off-road and pursue a stable system due to the lower center of gravity. In this research, we add the basis of autonomous navigation, driving mode control based on obstacle detection, to the robot to realize automation of mode transformation. Obstacle detection using PSD(Position Sensitive Device) infrared sensors gives active transformation of the track shape. Finally, experimental results about mentioned are presented.

휠형차량의 연약지 견인성능 예측 (Prdiction of Tractive Performance of Wheeled Vehicles on Soft Terrains)

  • In this paper, mathematical model was developed for predicting the tractive performance of off-road wheeled vehicles operated on soft terrains. Based on the mathematical model, a computer simulation program(TPPMWV) was developed. The model takes into account main design parameters of wheeled vehicle, including radius and width of front and rear tire, weight of vehicle, wheelbase and driving type(4WD, 2WD). Soil characteristics, such as the peressure-sinkage and shearing characteristics and the response to repetitive loading and slip-sinkage effect, are also taken into consideration. The effectiveness of the developed model was verified by comparing the predicted drawbar pulls using TPPMWV with measured ones obtained by field tests for two different driving types of wheeled vehicle. As a results, the drawbar pulls predicted by the TPPMWV were well matched to the measured ones within the absolute errors of 3.916%(4WD) and 13.31%(2WD) for two different driving types, respectively.

반능동 현수장치의 실시간 시뮬레이션용 궤도차량 모델 개발 (Development of a Tracked Vehicle Model for Real-time Simulation of Semi-active Suspension System)

  • In this study, a real-time simulation model was developed for tracked vehicles with in-arm type semi-active hydro-pneumatic suspension unit using MATLAB S-functions. Since the vehicle model uses relative coordinates and massless link elements, the developed model has an enhanced analytic time performance. Through the comparison of simulation results with multi-body software(DADS), the vehicle model is verified. A controller using on-off skyhook control algorithm is designed with the pilot-centre]led proportional valve based on conventional damper characteristics. Exploiting the developed tracked vehicle model with other subsystem model such as a controller model, a suspension unit model, and a test road model, computer simulations are carried out. Control simulation results with the developed tracked vehicle model show that the semi-active suspension control system has a better performance than the conventional suspension system.

  • Two No Spin Differential(NSD) models were benchmarked for a project of Dual-Use Technology The Axiomatic approach was utilized to evaluate two models and to derive an evolutionary design from the evaluated results. Test methodology is developed and used to evaluate the mobility, steerability, durability and noise of the newly developed sample. The test results of NSD sample on the test methodology are very positive regarding functional performances.
