Shock and vibration inputs are transmitted from the vehicle through the packaging to the fruit. Inside, these cause sustained bouncing of fruits against each other and container wall. These steady state vibration input may cause serous fruit injury, and this damage is particularly severe whenever the fruit inside the package is free to bounce, and is vibrated at its resonance frequency. The determination of the resonance frequencies of the fruit and vegetables may help the packaging designer to determine the proper packaging system providing adequate protection for the fruit, and to understand the complex interaction between the components of fruit when they relate to expected transportation vibration inputs. Instrumentation and technologies are described for determining the vibration response characteristics of the pears for exporting with frequency range from 10 to 200 Hz, sweep rate of 1 octave/min, sweep method of logarithmic up and down and acceleration levels of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 G considering the domestic transportation environment. The resonance frequency of the pears ranged from 49.04 to 87.16 Hz and the amplitude at resonance was between 0.96 and 4.02 G in test frequency band and acceleration level. The resonance frequency and amplitude at resonance frequency band of the pears decreased with the increase of the sample mass. The multiple nonlinear regression equations for predicting the resonance frequency of the pears were developed using the independent variables such as mass, input acceleration.

In this paper an octave tuning voltage controlled oscillator which is used in set-top TV tuner was designed. Oscillation frequency range is 0.9 GHz~2.2 GHz with 1.3 GHz bandwidth. By using 4 varactor diodes in base and emitter of transistor, wide-band tuning, sweep linearity and low phase noise could be achieved. Designed VCO requires a tuning voltage of 0 V ~ 20 V and DC consumption of 10 V and 15 mA. Designed VCO exhibits an output power of 5.3 dBm $\pm$1.1 dB and a phase noise below -94.8 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz over the entire frequency range. The sweep linearity shows 65 MHz/V with a deviation of $\pm$10 MHz.
This paper proposes a sinusoidal modeling of polyphonic audio signals. Sinusoidal modeling which has been applied well to speech and monophonic signals cannot be applied directly to polyphonic signals because a window size for sinusoidal analysis cannot be determined over the entire signal. In addition, for high quality synthesized signal transient parts like attacks should be preserved which determines timbre of musical instrument. In this paper, a multiresolution filter bank is designed which splits the input signal into six octave-spaced subbands without aliasing and sinusoidal modeling is applied to each subband signal. To alleviate smearing of transients in sinusoidal modeling a dynamic segmentation method is applied to subbands which determines the analysis-synthesis frame size adaptively to fit time-frequency characteristics of the subband signal. The improved dynamic segmentation is proposed which shows better performance about transients and reduced computation. For various polyphonic audio signals the result of simulation shows the suggested sinusoidal modeling can model polyphonic audio signals without loss of perceptual quality.
A measuring technique for tire-pavement interaction noise that uses a proposed noble close proximity(NCPX) method, which has been proofed in terms of the reliability and consistency of interaction noise measurement through several researches, equipped with surface microphones has been adopted in order to perform bridge deck pavement noise evaluations on four different pavement surfaces. Through field testing measurement of bridge deck pavement in Seoul inner ring road, the appropriate noise-measuring procedures have been used for evaluating the noise characteristics of four different surfaces. Measuring results show that tire-pavement noise levels vary depending on the surface types and vehicle speeds. Furthermore, the different characteristics of tire-pavement interaction noise can be found before and after the new surface construction of bridge deck pavements in terms of the 1/3 octave band analysis of vehicle speed.
PURPOSES: The purpose of study is to understand the characteristic of driving noise from the front and rear tire for effective active noise cancellation application. METHODS : As literature review, noise measurement methods were reviewed. Noise measurement conducted at three kind of section by road slope using CPX(Close Proximity Method). Noise data was compared by total sound pressure level and 1/3 octave band frequency sound pressure level. Also, each section was compared by T-test using SPSS. RESULTS : In the case of the uphill section, it was shown that the sound pressure level of the front tire at Sugwang-Ri and Sinchon-RI sections was higher than that of the rear tire in low and high frequency band. In the case of high slope section of Sangsaek-Ri, the sound pressure level of the front tire was higher than that of the rear tire in high frequency. Also, in the case of the downhill section, it was shown that the sound pressure level of the front tire at Sugwang-Ri and Sinchon-RI sections was higher than that of the rear tire in low frequency band. However, the sound pressure levels of both the front and rear tires were approximately the same in the high slope section of Sangsaek-Ri. The result of T-test showed that total sound pressures of the front and rear tires were not different from each other in the case of high slope and high speed. CONCLUSIONS: Road slope was not an important variable for effective active noise cancellation.

In the development of electricity generating wind turbines for wind farm application, only two types have survived as the methods of power regulation; stall regulation and fun span pitch control. The sound measurement procedures of IEC 61400-11 are applied to field test and evaluation of noise emission from each of 1.5 MW and 660 kW wind turbine generators (WTG) utilizing the stall regulation and the pitch control for the power regulation, respectively. Apparent sound power level, wind speed dependence and third-octave band levels are evaluated for both of WTGs. It is found that while 1.5 MW WTG using the stall control is found to emit lower sound power than 660 kW one using the pitch control at low wind speed (below 8 m/s), sound power from the former becomes greater than that of the latter in the higher wind speed. Equivalent continuous sound pressure levels (ECSPL) of the stall control type of WTG vary more widely with wind speed than those of the pitch control type of WTG These characteristics are believed to be strongly dependent on the basic difference of the airflow around the blade between the stall regulation and the pitch control types of WTG. These characteristics according to the methods of power regulation lead to the very different noise emission characteristics of WTG depending on the seasons because the average wind speed in summer is lower than the critical velocity over which the airflow on the suction side of blade in the stall types of WT are separated. These results propose that, in view of environmental noise regulation, the developer of wind farm should give enough considerations to the choice of power regulation of their WTG based on the weather conditions of potential wind farm locations.

This paper deals with the analysis of interior noise and low frequency noise characteristic for the Busan citizens to use public transport, Busan Metro Line 3. The interior noise evaluation index, articulation index(AI) is evaluated the lower value about average 22 % in a whole range, this is difficult to have a conversation. Also, noise criteria(NC) curve is partially evaluated as NC-65 below 2000 Hz, space type is evaluated as factories. Another of interior noise evaluation index, preferred speech interference level(PSIL) is evaluated the upper value about average 66 dB(A) in a whole range, this is evaluated to be interrupted. In the case of low frequency noise(20~200 Hz), the measurement of low frequency noise is assessed largely beyond noise criteria of ISO 226. The low frequency noise should be reduced because low frequency noise affects on psychological stress and displeasure although low frequency noise is not recognized by auditory sense. The low frequency noise criteria and guideline will be enacted from now on in Korea.
Wavelet transform has recently emerged as a promising technique for video processing applications due to its flexibility in representing non-stationary video signals. Motion estimation which uses wavelet transform of octave band division method is applied In many places but if motion estimation error happens in the lowest frequency band. motion estimation error is accumulated by next time strep and there has the Problem that time and the data amount that are cost In calculation at each steps are increased. On the other hand. wavelet packet that achieved the best image quality in a given bit rate from a rate-distortion sense is suggested. But, this method has the disadvantage of time costs on designing wavelet packet. In order to solve this problem we solved this problem by introducing Top_down method. But we did not find the optimum solution in a given butt rate. That image variance can represent image complexity is considered in this paper. In this paper. we propose a fast multiresolution motion estimation scheme based on the adaptive wavelet transform for video compression.
During handling unitized products, they are subjected to a variety of environmental hazards. Shock and vibration hazards are generally considered the most damaging of the environmental hazards on a product and it may encounter while passing through the distribution environment. A major cause of shock damage to products is drops during manual handling. The increasing use of unitization of pallets has been resulted in a reduction of the shock hazards. This has caused an increasing interest in research focused on vibration caused dam age. Damage to the product by the vibration most often occurs when a product or a product component has a natural frequency that falls within the range of the forcing frequencies of the particular mode of transportation being used. Transportation vibration is also a major cause of fruit and vegetable quality loss due to mechanical damage. This study was conducted to determine the vibration characteristics of the corrugated fiberboard bones for packages of pears, and to investigate the degree of vibration injury of the pears in the boxes during the simulated transportation environment. The vibration tests were performed on an electrohydraulic vibration exciter. The input acceleration to exciter was fixed at 0.25 G for a single container resonance test and 0.5 G for the vertical stacked container over the frequency range from 3 to 100 Hz. Function generator (HP-33120A) was connected by wire to the vibration exciter for controlling the input acceleration at a continuous logarithmic sweep rate of 1.0 octave per min. The peak frequency and acceleration on the single box test were 22.02 Hz, 1.5425 G respectively, and these values on the vertical stacked boxes were observed from the bottom box 19.02, 18.14, 16.62 and 15.40 Hz and 2.2987, 3.7654. 5.6087, and 7.9582 G, respectively. The pear in the bottom box had a slightly higher damage level than the fruit packed in the other stacked boxes. It is desirable that the package and transportation system has to be so designed that 15∼20 Hz frequency will not occur during the transportation environment.

An underwater recording system was designed to measure the sound spectra of the underwater noises produced by fishing gears in operation. Recorded were noi~es from three types of fishing gears: an anchovy set net, three anchovy boat seine net and a stern trawlnet. Acoustic analysis were made using a heterodyne analyzer, a digital frequency analyzer and a level recorder. The no;'e produced by the anchovy set net was found in the high frequency region of the onset of ambient noise spectrum with a slope of - 6 dB/octave. Here the ambient noise spectrum is higher, though similar in shape, than Knudsen spectrum, and is attributed to the breaking action of the coastal wave. Measured noise spectra during the fishing operations of the anchovy boat seine nets are attributed to the background noise of the sea in the presence of the fishing vessels. The frequency distribution of the noise was 20~5, 000 Hz in the case of two steel anchovy boat seiners, and 20-3,000 Hz in the case of the wooden anchovy boat seiner. The predominant frequency range was 250~350 Hz and maximum sound pressure level was 122 dB (re $1\muPa$) in the case of the steel boat and ] 17 dB in the case of the wooden boat. The noises produced by the trawl fishing gears are remarkably higher than the background noi~e in the presence of the fishing vessel. The frequency distribution of the noi~e was 20-6,300 Hz. The predominant frequency range was 100~200 Hz and maximum sound pressure level was 137 dB ( re $1\muPa$) . The noise spectra were not so much different from that caused by vibrations of the towing cable and the structure of the ground rope of the trawl net towed in an experimental tank.
