  • The main purposes of this study was to develop evaluation model, which provides program educational objectives(PEO) evaluation research with guidances on how to evaluate the program educational objectives and procedures in order to enhance the quality of engineering education. Educational objective evaluation is reciprocal processes that depend on and affect one another. Thus, the evaluation component deals with how to identify members' strengths, weakness, and needs, how to assess and improve the effectiveness of curriculum programs, and how to provide data that assist in decision making. After literature reviews about the case studies on the program educational objectives evaluation, this study, to understand the meaning of education evaluation and the engineering accreditation, and then, examined the evaluation model for program educational objectives. This study suggested evaluation components of program educational objectives. In particular, the distinctions between diagnostic, formative, and summative evaluation are discussed. The result of this study is significant in terms of guiding the future evaluation model development for program educational objectives.

  • In this paper, the evaluation system in order to achieve the program education objectives of Accreditaion Board for engineering education of Korea, analyze the educational objectives evaluation tool case studies of programs that are run by each university, the program educational objectives to match the actual situation of university I have developed a distinction between questions the evaluation and assessment system. Configuration, execution, measurement, analysis, is a five-step mooring, the evaluation tool, is a graduate research you are currently using the most in Korea, the employer survey, education target assessment model of the program, employment trends of graduates, I decided to graduate focus group interviews. Distinction between questions, the evaluation also developed a questionnaire to derive the important keywords of education for each objectives. Improvement evaluation tool, the evaluation criteria is required, the University is preparing evaluate (NGR) in South Korea engineering education certification next regularly, requires research on semantic analysis of the results of measurement of the educational goals of the program in the future some.

  • This paper has been studied to evaluate the program educational objectives (PEO) for mechanical engineering program at Chosun University. The program educational objectives were set up the educational goals with relationof college educational objectives and ability or quality of engineers after 3 years of graduation, and educated the basic competance of engineers are the equipments of high-level education enviroments, faculty and curriculum for effective engineering educations. This paper were to announce PEO to current students, to establish and to improve PEO throughout accesment and analysis of PEO evaluation. The improvement and documentation of PEO accesement system, collecton and analysis of PEO were conducted industial surveys for engineers graduated this program. The results are served as a substantial basis for setting furture educational goals, renewed PEO by the closed loop and making decision for quality of engineering education in the college of engineering. This study would be comfined measurements, analysis and achievements of PEO for graduated engineers in this program.

  • This study was examining and analyzing the perception and significance for engineering teaching objectives and strategies designed for students. The optional sampled method with various levels was applied to all the junior students at college of engineering in Jeola North Province. The five applied universities were again divided into three divisions. The result of this study was as follows ; First, according to the analysis of students' conception about the significance degree of good education suitable for engineer and a number of a community, leaner's attitude and opinion learning were more important than any other instruction objectives. Second, according to the other analysis regarding to the significance degree of instruction objectives and methods, the teaching of technical operation was thought more important than any other instruction objectives. Overall, this study showed that the significance degree of instruction objectives and teaching strategies of engineering education had a little difference according to a various factor but they were arranged from three points (importance) and four points (very importance).

  • This paper examined the educational objectives of selected colleges of engineering in Korea and other countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong. Among the common educational objectives of the colleges of engineering in Korea are the supply of manpower with professional abilities, an education to enhance the basic competence of engineers, and the equipment of high-level educational environments for quality engineering education. These emphases are in line with the global trends shown in the cases of various countries, where "leadership" and "innovation" are given much weight, and qualities such as "creativity", "specialty", and "service" are stressed. The analysis on the educational objectives of the selected colleges of engineering listed in this study may serve as a substantial basis for setting future goals and making decisions for quality engineering education in the colleges of engineering.

  • This study analyzed and compared the curriculum of 12 arbitrarily selected Colleges of Engineering for their professional general education. Since the Korean Accreditation of Engineering Education has existed for the last 10 years a growing need for improvements was identified and thus this study shall provide a basis for future curriculum developments of the professional general education. For this purpose the educational objectives, the syllabus, the self-assessment reports and catalogues of the 12 Colleges were reviewed and the relevance between the educational objectives of each engineering school and the learning outcomes in the professional general education were analyzed. Furthermore, by analyzing the area of subject that each College of Engineering's mechanical engineering program's professional general education focuses on, the current trend can be examined. Finally, the credit requirements and their allocation and the distribution of the professional general education over the semesters were analyzed. The results of this study were as followed; these capabilities such as creativity, professionalism, globalization, ethics, humanism, design ability, management ability, responsibility and communication are suggested as educational objectives of 12 engineering schools. But courses related to globalization, ethics & responsibility and communication skills were much more often taught. Not only do the allocated credits for the courses of professional general education differ from university to university but the distribution over the semesters vary as well.

  • In the regular evaluation of engineering education accreditation, there should be almost no deficiencies in the program educational objectives, but they are occurring frequently. From the regular evaluation in 2021, the second deficiency is judged as conditional certification. This paper presents an example of the application of the program education goal adequacy review system considering changes in the social environment with a relatively low understanding of educational goal setting while preparing for the engineering education certification system and certification evaluation. In addition, application cases are presented focusing on the certification criteria, engineering education certification judgment guide, and self-study report form for the linkage application between detailed certification criteria in revising and improving educational goals.

  • Though the 'Program Educational Objectives' is the first and important criterion in ABEEK's engineering education accreditation, exact meaning and implementation methods have not been understood well. It was often confused with 'Program Outcomes' and its implementation and evaluation methods do not reflected well on the concepts of "outcomes based and demand driven education". A new implementation model for 'Program Educational Objectives' has been developed using step by step application. The model explains the meaning of every step (phase), and key constituents in each phase. The specialization and CQI of the program could be satisfied by applying the model properly.

  • Even though Accreditation Board of Engineering Education in Korea (ABEEK) started its accreditation procedures, the faculty still have difficulties in preparing the accreditation because there are little practical examples of the preparing procedure. This paper explains the practical procedure to determine the educational objectives and the outcomes, which is the first part of the accreditation preparing procedure. The educational objectives of the program should be expressed by the specific and assessable sentences and their contents should comply with the demands of the educational community, the objectives of the educational institute, and the characteristics of the program. The program outcomes consist of 12 outcomes from ABEEK and additional outcomes that reflect the characteristics of the program. Since the educational objectives and the outcomes should have the full connection among the objectives of the institute and the course objectives, the relationships among them should be checked using the relationship analysis matrix.
