Background: Chronic neuropathic pain (NP) presents therapeutic challenges. Interest in the use of cannabis-based medications has outpaced the knowledge of its efficacy and safety in treating NP. The objective of this review was to evaluate the effectiveness of cannabis-based medications in individuals with chronic NP. Methods: Randomized placebo-controlled trials using tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), cannabidivarin (CBDV), or synthetic cannabinoids for NP treatment were included. The MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases were examined. The primary outcome was the NP intensity. The risk of bias analysis was based on the Cochrane handbook. Results: The search of databases up to 2/1/2021 yielded 379 records with 17 RCTs included (861 patients with NP). Meta-analysis showed that there was a significant reduction in pain intensity for THC/CBD by -6.624 units (P < .001), THC by -8.681 units (P < .001), and dronabinol by -6.0 units (P = .008) compared to placebo on a 0-100 scale. CBD, CBDV, and CT-3 showed no significant differences. Patients taking THC/CBD were 1.756 times more likely to achieve a 30% reduction in pain (P = .008) and 1.422 times more likely to achieve a 50% reduction (P = .37) than placebo. Patients receiving THC had a 21% higher improvement in pain intensity (P = .005) and were 1.855 times more likely to achieve a 30% reduction in pain than placebo (P < .001). Conclusion: Although THC and THC/CBD interventions provided a significant improvement in pain intensity and were more likely to provide a 30% reduction in pain, the evidence was of moderate-to-low quality. Further research is needed for CBD, dronabinol, CT-3, and CBDV.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to present evidence by analyzing the research trends in acupuncture treatment in the last 10 years for thromboangiitis obliterans. Methods Randomized controlled trials about acupuncture on thromboangiitis obliterans were searched China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS), ScienceON, Koreanstudies Information Service System (KISS) and Research Information Sharing Service (RISS) from January 1, 2011 to November 13, 2021. Only randomized controlled trials were selected and we assessed the risk of bias (RoB) according to the revised Cochrane RoB2 criteria. Results A total of 5 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were selected in this review and all were conducted in China. A total of 326 participants were in 5 RCTs. SP10, ST36, GB34 was the most commonly used treatment point. There were four types of acupuncture used: manual acupuncture, embedding acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, electroacupuncture. The most commonly used indicator for evaluation was the total efficacy rate, and all five studies were significantly higher. Conclusions All selected studies showed the group treated with acupuncture treatments on thromboangiitis obliterans were statistically more effective than the control group. However, the number of studies is too small and the interpretation of the results is limited due to the inclusion of subjective evaluation. So more objective and systematic studies should be conducted continuously.

Accurate prediction of the undrained shaft resistance is essential for robust design of bored piles in undrained condition. The undrained shaft resistance is calculated using the undrained adhesion factor multiplied by the undrained cohesion of the soil. However, the available correlations to predict the undrained adhesion factor have been developed using simple regression techniques and the accuracy of these correlations has not been thoroughly assessed in previous studies. The lack of the assessment of these correlations made it difficult for geotechnical engineers to select the most accurate correlation in routine designs. Furthermore, limited attempts have been made in previous studies to use advanced data mining techniques to develop simple and accurate correlation to predict the undrained adhesion factor. This research, therefore, has been conducted to fill these gaps in knowledge by developing novel and robust correlation to predict the undrained adhesion factor. The development of the new correlation has been conducted using the multi-objective evolutionary polynomial regression analysis. The new correlation outperformed the available empirical correlations, where the new correlation scored lower mean absolute error, mean square error, root mean square error and standard deviation of measured to predicted adhesion factor, and higher mean, a20-index and coefficient of correlation. The correlation also successfully showed the influence of the undrained cohesion and the effective stress on the adhesion factor. Hence, the new correlation enhances the design accuracy and can be used by practitioner geotechnical engineers to ensure optimized designs of bored piles in undrained conditions.
Objectives: Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the treatment of herbal medicine for patients with COVID-19 asymptomatic infections. Method: In English, search engines such as 'PubMed', 'Science Direct', and 'Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL)' were used. In Chinese, search engines such as 'China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI)' and Wanfang were used. The keywords for the search engines were 'COVID-19', 'asymptomatic infection', 'Korean Medicine', 'traditional Chinese medicine', 'herbal medicine', and etc. Only clinical studies using herbal medicine for patients without fever or respiratory symptoms were selected. We excluded the cases that do not fit the research topic. Results: A total of 5 studies were finally selected. Among them, four of them used integrated herbal medicine and Western medicine, and one of the studies treated exclusively for herbal medicine. There were a total of seven prescriptions for herbal medicine used in the study. Outcome variables were used as following: lab test, nucleic acid conversion time, hospitalization period, chest CT, and etc. In the RCT study, herbal medicine and Western medicine decreased nucleic acid conversion time, average hospitalization time compared to the control group, but it was not statistically significant. No other adverse reactions were reported in all studies. Conclusion: According to the results, integrated herbal medicine and Western medicine might be an effective treatment for patients with COVID-19 asymptomatic infection reducing hospitalization period, time of nucleic acid turning negative. No severe adverse effects were reported. However, it is thought that better-designed research will be needed in the future.
The objective of this study was to conduct a 'Theory of Home Economics Education' class using online problem-based learning(PBL) for prospective home economics(HE) teachers. The aim was to enable teachers to analyze the learning experience in the classroom, and to prepare operational strategies for online PBL on this basis. In order to achieve this, online PBL was applied to 31 students participating in the 'Theory of Home Economics Education' at the Department of HE in a university in Seoul, and the results were collected from the learning process. This also involved a reflective journal, a survey on the learning experience and the impacts was conducted. Moreover, analysis was undertaken on the learning activities, learning difficulties, and improvements. The main research results are as follows. Firstly, students accessed Webex, an online video conferencing program, and performed two PBL tasks: 'Making Home Economics Promotion Materials' and 'Presenting Teaching Strategies to Improve Learner's Immersion in Online Classes'. Secondly, learners established their own identity of HE learned about the HE class plans themselves. They also encountered realistic experience as HE teachers and learned communication and collaboration skills. Furthermore, they acquired creative problem-solving and self-directed learning ability, community consciousness, as well as the attitude of consideration and respect. Thirdly, students lacked knowledge of learning content and encountered difficulty in solving data research, analysis processes, and unstructured problems. They were affected by a lack of time and encountered problem in communicating with other team members in an online environment. As an improvement in online class operation, it was considrered necessary to reduce the learning burden by securing time and reducing the number of assignments, as well as to explain active interaction with instructors and PBL.
Background: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a leading cause of severe infections in humans and animals worldwide. Studies elucidating the population structure, staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec types, resistance phenotypes, and virulence gene profiles of animal-associated MRSA are needed to understand spread and transmission. Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine 1) clonal complexes and spa types, 2) resistance phenotypes, and 3) virulence/resistance gene profiles of MRSA isolated from animals in Switzerland. Methods: We analyzed 31 presumptive MRSA isolates collected from clinical infections in horses, dogs, cattle, sheep, and pigs, which had tested positive in the Staphaurex Latex Agglutination Test. The isolates were characterized by spa typing and DNA microarray profiling. In addition, we performed antimicrobial susceptibility testing using the VITEK 2 Compact system. Results: Characterization of the 31 presumptive MRSA isolates revealed 3 methicillinresistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates, which were able to grow on MRSA2 Brilliance agar. Of the 28 MRSA isolates, the majority was assigned to CC398 (86%), but CC8 (11%) and CC1 (4%) were also detected. The predominant spa type was t011 (n = 23), followed by t009 (n = 2), t034 (n = 1), t008 (n = 1), and t127 (n = 1). Conclusions: The results of this study extend the current body of knowledge on the population structure, resistance phenotypes, and virulence and resistance gene profiles of MRSA from livestock and companion animals.
This paper was intended to examine the function of emotion that affects the accuracy of statements in the context of eyewitness testimony. The main emotion theories and concepts introduced in previous studies examining the relation between testimony accuracy and negative emotions were examined based on the characteristics of the research method. The results were presented in the order of emotion definition, emotion inducing method, and emotion measurement method. Specifically, the definition of emotion was described based on studies on negative emotions, arousal, stress, and mood. The emotion inducing method was mainly described based on images, virtual reality, and staged events designed by researchers, which have been mainly used in laboratories. Emotion measurement methods were described with respect to the self-report, behavioral checklist, and psychophysiology. In addition, the emotional approach for objective and scientific repeated verification, the importance of effective experimental design and appropriate scientific memory test, and the need for individual difference control were discussed. This paper reinterprets the contradictions shown by previous research by systematically structuring the function of emotion that affects the accuracy of testimony. It was meaningful to provide a frame for comparative analysis of related studies. Ultimately, it is expected that such knowledge will be used as basic documents for judging the reliability of eyewitness testimony in a legal context.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to summarize clinical studies conducted over the last five years that investigated the effect of acupuncture on Parkinson's disease and to propose a better process of study. Methods: Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), Korea Studies Information Service (KISS), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), PubMed, Embase, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) were systemically searched for clinical trials that had investigated the effect of acupuncture on the course of Parkinson's disease from May 2016 to April 2021. Results: A total of 23 studies met all the inclusion criteria. In most reports, acupuncture had significant positive effects on the course of Parkinson's disease. Furthermore, there were no serious adverse events associated with acupuncture in any of the studies. In addition to the acupuncture methods that showed effectiveness in previous studies, various types of acupuncture have been used to treat sub-symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The outcome measures were subdivided through individual symptom evaluation and mechanical analysis. Follow-up assessments were also performed to analyze the continuous effect. Conclusion: In the clinical studies conducted over the last five years, many studies investigated the various types of acupuncture used to treat Parkinson's disease and the segmentation and diversification of outcome measures focusing on individual symptoms, and a new approach for excluding placebo effects through follow-up studies has been made. Further attempts like these are needed to overcome methodological flaws in studies on the effects of acupuncture on Parkinson's disease.
We use the concept of the "doctor's role" as a guideline for developing medical education programs for medical students, residents, and doctors. Therefore, we should regularly reflect on the times and social needs to develop a clear sense of that role. The objective of the present study was to understand the knowledge structure related to doctor's job competencies in Korea. We analyzed research trends related to doctor's job competencies in Korea Citation Index journals using text network analysis through an integrative approach focusing on identifying social issues. We finally selected 1,354 research papers related to doctor's job competencies from 2011 to 2020, and we analyzed 2,627 words through data pre-processing with the NetMiner ver. 4.2 program (Cyram Inc., Seongnam, Korea). We conducted keyword centrality analysis, topic modeling, frequency analysis, and linear regression analysis using NetMiner ver. 4.2 (Cyram Inc.) and IBM SPSS ver. 23.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). As a result of the study, words such as "family," "revision," and "rejection" appeared frequently. In topic modeling, we extracted five potential topics: "topic 1: Life and death in medical situations," "topic 2: Medical practice under the Medical Act," "topic 3: Medical malpractice and litigation," "topic 4: Medical professionalism," and "topic 5: Competency development education for medical students." Although there were no statistically significant changes in the research trends for each topic over time, it is nonetheless known that social changes could affect the demand for doctor's job competencies.

In recent years, visual design has become an emerging industry that creates production value in various countries, and visual design teachers have become a key factor affecting the development of designers and even the trend of the design industry. Therefore, the requirements for the ability of visual design teachers have become particularly important. This study takes the visual communication teachers in colleges and universities as the research object. Focus on the composition of competencies that teachers have when performing their duties. First of all, through document sorting, it is based on the five aspects of knowledge ability, teaching ability, practical ability, management ability and professional ethics. A Likert scale questionnaire was developed on the evaluation of visual design teachers' competencies by interviewing 10 visual design industry experts and conducting two Delphi method interviews. This research refers to the relevant literatures such as curriculum research and teaching objective research of design major, and discusses the evaluation standards of visual design teachers' abilities in colleges and universities. Expert interviews have sorted out 12 criteria and 36 sub-criteria about visual design teachers' abilities, and verified their rationality through expert return visits. The establishment of this evaluation standard provides a certain theoretical basis for visual design teachers' ability evaluation and self-cognition.
