  • Ubiquitous location based services (u-LBS) will be interested to an important services. They can easily recognize object position at anytime, anywhere. At present, many researchers are making a study of the position recognition and tracking. This paper consists of postion recognition and user identification system. The position recognition is based on location under services (LBS) using a signal strength map, a database is previously made use of empirical measured received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The user identification system automatically controls instruments which is located in home. Moreover users are able to measures body signal freely. We implemented the multi-hop routing method using the Star-Mesh networks. Also, we use the sensor devices which are satisfied with the IEEE 802.15.4 specification. The used devices are the Nano-24 modules in Octacomm Co. Ltd. A RSSI is very important factor in position recognition analysis. It makes use of the way that decides position recognition and user identification in narrow indoor space. In experiments, we can analyze properties of the RSSI, draw the parameter about position recognition. The experimental result is that RSSI value is attenuated according to increasing distances. It also derives property of the radio frequency (RF) signal. Moreover, we express the monitoring program using the Microsoft C#. Finally, the proposed methods are expected to protect a sudden death and an accident in home.

  • Accurately extracting skin color regions is very important in various areas such as face recognition and tracking, facial expression recognition, adult image identification, health-care, and so forth. In this paper, we evaluate the performances of several skin color detection algorithms in indoor environments by changing the distance between the camera and the object as well as the background colors of the object. The distance is from 60cm to 120cm and the background colors are white, black, orange, pink, and yellow, respectively. The algorithms that we use for the performance evaluation are Peer algorithm, NNYUV, NNHSV, LutYUV, and Kimset algorithm. The experimental results show that NNHSV, NNYUV and LutYUV algorithm are stable, but the other algorithms are somewhat sensitive to the changes of backgrounds. As a result, we expect that the comparative experimental results of this paper will be used very effectively when developing a new skin color extraction algorithm which are very robust to dynamic real environments.

With the aid of Artificial Intelligence (AI), many objects are becoming more intelligent, conscious, and curious of their surroundings. The recent scientific breakthroughs in autonomous vehicular designs and development; powered by AI, network of sensors and the rapid increase of Internet of Things (IoTs) could be utilized in maintaining safety and security in our environments. AI based on deep learning architectures and models, such as Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), is being applied worldwide in the automotive design fields like computer vision, natural language processing, sensor fusion, object recognition and autonomous driving projects. These features are well known for their identification, detective and tracking abilities. With the embedment of sensors, cameras, GPS, RADAR, LIDAR, and on-board computers in many of these autonomous vehicles being developed, these vehicles can properly map their positions and proximity to everything around them. In this paper, we explored in detail several ways in which these enormous features embedded in these autonomous vehicles, such as the network of sensors fusion, computer vision and natural image processing, natural language processing, and activity aware capabilities of these automobiles, could be tapped and utilized in safeguarding our lives and environment.

  • Positions of tactical objects are represented as Time, Space and Position Information(TSPI) in modeling and simulations(M&S). The format and required information record for TSPI is investigated by referring the TSPI object model of the Test and Training Enabling Architecture(TENA), which has been developed by the United States Department of Defense. The most sophisticated tactical data link, Link-16 has a Precise Participant Location and Information (PPLI) message. We study the data format for exchanging TSPI data based on the PPLI message. To evaluate and track positions of tactical objects, we consider the Kalman filter for linear systems, and the extended Kalman filter and the unscented Kalman filter for nonlinear systems. Based on motion equations of a ballistic missile, the tracking performance for the trajectory of the ballistic missile is simulated by the unscented Kalman filter.

  • In this paper we propose and implement a digital part of a receiver system for identifying a moving object and its tracking position in wireless environment. We assumed UWB(Ultra Wide Band)-based communication system for target application and used serial communication method(RS-232). The proposed digital receiver consists of RS-232-type1/RS-232-type2 for input and output of serial communication, ID Detector for detecting IDs, and PISO&Buffer circuit to buffer input signals for appropriate operation of ID Detector. We implemented the digital receiver with minimal hardware(H/W) resource according to target application of UWB-based communication system. So it correlates input patterns with pre-stored patterns though repeated detecting method for multiple IDs. Since it has reference panerns in the Ve-stored form, it can detect various IDs instantly. Also we can program content and size of reference patterns considering compatibility with other systems .The implemented H/W was mapped into XC2S100PQ208-5 FPGA of Xilinx, occupied 727($30\%$) cells, and stably operated in the clock frequency of 75MHz(13.341ns).

  • RFID technologies, which allow collecting, storing, processing, and tracking information by wirelessly recognizing the inherent ID of object through an attached electronic tag, have a variety of application areas. This paper presents a novel carrier leakage suppression RF(CLS-RF) front-end for ultra-high-frequency RF identification reader. The proposed reader CLS-RF front-end structure generates the carrier leakage replica through the nonlinear path that contains limiter. The limiting function only preserves the frequency and phase information of the leakage signal and rejects the amplitude modulated tag signal in the envelope. The carrier leakage replica is then injected into the linear path that contains phase shifter. Therefore, the carrier leakage signal is effectively cancelled out, while not affecting the gain of the desired tag backscattering signal. We experimentally confirm that the prototype shows a significant improvement in the leakage to signal ratio by up to 36 dB in 910 MHz, which is consistent with our simulation results.

  • RFID is a technology that uses radio frequency to read information in tags attached to objects or people. Because it reads the information without contact when tracking the location using tags in a RFID system, there can be errors between the actual position and measured position. In this paper, three methods (the method of radiation pattern, the method of the median value, and the method using both the radiation pattern and median value) are proposed to identify the location of objects or people using the RFID technique. The location identification system based on RFID was constructed and tags were arranged in a square pattern. The real location and experimentally predicted location of an object containing a reader were compared to confirm the error. Instead of the existing papers that obtained the approximately location of a reader by calculating the center of gravity of all tags read by that reader, in this study, the predicted location was obtained by the median value and the radiation pattern. This study validated which method was the most efficient among the three methods proposed in this paper through the data of the read tags. As a result, the method of the median value had the smallest error among those assessed.

  • C-ITS(Cooperative Intelligent Transport System) that pursues traffic safety and convenience uses various sensors to generate traffic information. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the sensor-related technology to increase the efficiency and reliability of the traffic information. Recently, the role of CCTV in collecting video information has become more important due to advances in AI(Artificial Intelligence) technology. In this study, we propose to identify and track dynamic objects(vehicles, people, etc.) in CCTV images, and to analyze and provide information about them in various environments. To this end, we conducted identification and tracking of dynamic objects using the Yolov4 and Deepsort algorithms, establishment of real-time multi-user support servers based on Kafka, defining transformation matrices between images and spatial coordinate systems, and map-based dynamic object visualization. In addition, a positional consistency evaluation was performed to confirm its usefulness. Through the proposed scheme, we confirmed that CCTVs can serve as important sensors to provide relevant information by analyzing road conditions in real time in terms of road infrastructure beyond a simple monitoring role.
