This research proposes a generalized local feature structure named "LSG(Local Surface Group) for model-based 3D object recognition". An LSG consists of a surface and its immediately adjacent surface that are simultaneously visible for a given viewpoint. That is, LSG is not a simple feature but a viewpoint-dependent feature structure that contains several attributes such as surface type. color, area, radius, and simultaneously adjacent surface. In addition, we have developed a new method based on Bayesian theory that computes a measure of how distinct an LSG is compared to other LSGs for the purpose of object recognition. We have experimented the proposed methods on an object databaed composed of twenty 3d object. The experimental results show that LSG and the Bayesian computing method can be successfully employed to achieve rapid 3D object recognition.
In this paper, we propose that fast tracking algorithm for moving object is separated from background, using partial boundary line information. After detecting boundary line from input image, we track moving object by using the algorithm which takes boundary line information as feature of moving object. we extract moving vector on the imput image which has environmental variation, using high-performance BMA, and we extract moving object on the basis of moving vector. Next, we extract boundary line on the moving object as an initial feature-vector generating step for the moving object. Among those boundary lines, we consider a part of the boundary line in every direction as feature vector. And then, as a step for the moving object, we extract moving vector from feature vector generated under the information of the boundary line of the moving object on the previous frame, and we perform tracking moving object from the current frame. As a result, we show that the proposed algorithm using feature vector generated by each directional boundary line is simple tracking operation cost compared with the previous active contour tracking algorithm that changes processing time by boundary line size of moving object. The simulation for proposed algorithm shows that BMA operation is reduced about 39% in real image and tracking error is less than 2 pixel when the size of feature vector is [$10{\times}5$] using the information of each direction boundary line. Also the proposed algorithm just needs 200 times of search operation bout processing cost is varies by the size of boundary line on the previous algorithm.
In this thesis, an object tracking method based on the active feature model and the optical flow in stereo images is proposed. We acquired the translation information of object of interest and the features of object by utilizing the geometric information and depth of stereo images. Tracking performance is improved for the occlude object with this information by predicting the movement information of features of the occlude object. Rigid and non-rigid objects are experimented. From the result of experiment, the OOI can be real-time tracked from complicate back ground. Besides, we got the improved result of object tracking in any occlusion state, no matter what it is rigid or non-rigid object.

Recently, object detection technology based on CNN has been actively studied. Object detection technology is used as an important technology in autonomous vehicles, intelligent image analysis, and so on. In this paper, we propose a rotation change robust object detection system by applying MI-FL (Moment Invariant-Feature Layer) to SSD (Single Shot Multibox Detector) which is one of CNN-based object detectors. First, the features of the input image are extracted based on the VGG network. Then, a total of six feature layers are applied to generate bounding boxes by predicting the location and type of object. We then use the NMS algorithm to get the bounding box that is the most likely object. Once an object bounding box has been determined, the invariant moment feature of the corresponding region is extracted using MI-FL, and stored and learned in advance. In the detection process, it is possible to detect the rotated image more robust than the conventional method by using the previously stored moment invariant feature information. The performance improvement of about 4 ~ 5% was confirmed by comparing SSD with existing SSD and MI-FL.

Moving object tracking is very important in video surveillance system. This paper presents a method for tracking moving objects in an outdoor environment. To moving object tracking, first, after extract object that move yielding weight subtraction image and then use close operator to reduce the noise. And we track a object that move detected by matching the extracted multi-feature information. The proposed tracking technique can track moving object by multi-feature matching method so that exactly tracking the objects which are suddenly move or stop. The proposed tracking technique can be efficiently tracking the moving objects, because of combined with spatial position, shape and intensity informations.
An algorithm to extract the 3-D geometric information of a static object was developed using a set of 2-D computer vision system and a laser structured lighting device. As a structured light pattern, multi-parallel lines were used in the study. The proposed algorithm was composed of three stages. The camera calibration, which determined a coordinate transformation between the image plane and the real 3-D world, was performed using known 6 pairs of points at the first stage. Then, utilizing the shifting phenomena of the projected laser beam on an object, the height of the object was computed at the second stage. Finally, using the height information of the 2-D image point, the corresponding 3-D information was computed using results of the camera calibration. For arbitrary geometric objects, the maximum error of the extracted 3-D feature using the proposed algorithm was less than 1~2mm. The results showed that the proposed algorithm was accurate for 3-D geometric feature detection of an object.
Compared with other features of the image, color features are less sensitive to noise and background complication. Besides, this adding to object segmentation has more accuracy of image retrieval. This paper presents object segmentation and HAQ(Histogram Analysis and Quantization) algorithm approach to extract features(the object information and the characteristic colors) of an image. The empirical results shows that this method presents exactly spatial and color information of an image as image retrieval's feature.

Recently, a visual servoing for an eye-in-hand robot has become an interesting problem. A distance between a camera and a task object is very useful information for visual servoing. In the previous works for visual servoing, the distance can be obtained from the difference between a reference and a measured feature value of the object such as area on image plane. However, since this feature depends on the object, the reference feature value must be changed when other task object is taken. To overcome this difficulty, this paper presents a novel method for visual servoing. In the proposed method, a blur is used to obtain the distance. The blur, one of the most important features, depends on the focal length of camera. Since it is not affected by the change of object, the reference feature value is not changed although other task object is taken. In this paper, we show a relationship between the distance and the blur, and define the feature jacobian matrix based on camera defocusing to operate the robot. A series of experiments is performed to verify the proposed method.
Visual Object Tracking is known as the most fundamental problem in the field of computer vision. Object tracking localize the region of target object with bounding box in the video. In this paper, a custom CNN is created to extract object feature that has strong and various information. This network was constructed as a Siamese network for use as a feature extractor. The input images are passed convolution block composed of a bottleneck layers, and features are emphasized. The feature map of the target object and the search area, extracted from the Siamese network, was input as a local proposal network. Estimate the object area using the feature map. The performance of the tracking algorithm was evaluated using the OTB2013 dataset. Success Plot and Precision Plot were used as evaluation matrix. As a result of the experiment, 0.611 in Success Plot and 0.831 in Precision Plot were achieved.

Video object segmentation is a significant task in computer vision, but its performance is not very satisfactory. A method of video object segmentation using weakly temporal information is presented in this paper. Motivated by the phenomenon in reality that the motion of the object is a continuous and smooth process and the appearance of the object does not change much between adjacent frames in the video sequences, we use a feed-forward architecture with motion estimation to predict the mask of the current frame. We extend an additional mask channel for the previous frame segmentation result. The mask of the previous frame is treated as the input of the expanded channel after processing, and then we extract the temporal feature of the object and fuse it with other feature maps to generate the final mask. In addition, we introduce multi-mask guidance to improve the stability of the model. Moreover, we enhance segmentation performance by further training with the masks already obtained. Experiments show that our method achieves competitive results on DAVIS-2016 on single object segmentation compared to some state-of-the-art algorithms.
