  • Delivering the weapons system requirements of the military to the acquirer is an essential activity for the development of the defense industry as well as the successful acquisition of a weapons system. In order to ensure successful delivery of requirements, the creation of a weapons system Operational Requirements Document(ORD) has been mandated since 7. 2013. However, according to the results of a study which analyzes recently-created ORD, a number of problems are occurring. For one, some items in created ORDs differ from what the ORD template requires. In addition, the overall mission area of the weapons system to be acquired and the core parts(operation performance, system performance, and core performance) of ORD are being poorly recorded. In response, this study presented a framework(focused on a creating method of overall contents and core parts) for the creation of ORDs which can solve the problems that arose during ORD creation in the past.

  • This paper relates to the improvement application of operation requirements documents(ORD) on which empirical researches are not sufficient. The application of ORD was drawn up and operated in the acquisition phase, and recently it was decided to apply it in the requirements planning phase. However, the reality is that there are deficiencies in the performance of works, such as the classification of works among related organizations. Therefore, this study analyzed the cases of writing ORD that have been promoted so far, and Its status was enhanced by reflecting it in laws and regulations. In addition, the concept was redefined, and improvement measures such as the level of writing ORD were suggested for each acquisition stages. Above all, it is desirable to incrementally supplement and develop from preliminary conceptual research in the planning stage and drafting at the military level. In addition, the relevant legal system should be supplemented so that such ORD application can be flexibly established in defence acquisition.

  • The ORD and CD for hyoscine-N-butylbromide present curves of negative Cotton effect in 190-250nm region. The values of .alpha./sub 232/ .alpha./sub 208/, vertical bar .alpha./sub 232/ vertical bar + vertical bar .alpha./sub 208/ and .theta./sub 221.5/ have linearities in the range of lower concentration (hyoscine-N-butylbromide 0.01-0.1w/v%). It is possible to determine the optical purity of hyoseine-N-butylbromide by using these linearities. This experiment is extremely simple and less time-consuming than other methods for estimating optical purity.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the performance of a miniaturized hydrometer of clay content determination in the field. The performance of the miniaturized hydrometer was compared to that of 152H hydrometer and pipette methods. Statistical analysis of the results showed the possibility of using the miniaturized hydrometer for clay content determination in the field.

  • In order to find an appropriate model for rice crop-season, the possibility to utilize the geographical conditions instead of meteorological factors was examined on the data from the Local Adaptability Test(LAT) conducted over the country from 1962 to 1980. The mutiple regression model, $Y={\Upsilon}={\ss}{\sum}_{i=1}^n{\beta}^1X^iwas applied on seeding, transplanting, heading and marginal heading date, and multiple regression coefficients(\beta) and multiple correlation coefficients (R) were tested. Two varietal groups, japonica(1962-l971) and indica/japonica(l972-1980) were separately tested. The application of these established models, growth duration in nursery and paddy field, cultural season, and the relation between heading date and yield are reviewed.

  • To establish objective criteria for high pedestrian accident zones, we combined Getis-ord Gi* and Kernel Density Estimation to select high pedestrian accident zones for 54,208 pedestrian accidents in Seoul from 2009 to 2013. By applying Getis-ord Gi* and considering spatial patterns where pedestrian accident hot spots were clustered, this study identified high pedestrian accident zones. The research examined the microscopic distribution of accidents in high pedestrian accident zones, identified the critical hot spots through Kernel Density Estimation, and analyzed the inner distribution of hot spots by identifying the areas with high density levels.

  • The cost-effective reduction of occupational radiation dose (ORD) at a nuclear power plant could not be achieved without going through an extensive analysis of accumulated ORD data of existing plants. Through the data analysis, it is required to identify what are the jobs of repetitive high ORD at the nuclear power plant. In this study, Percentile Rank Sum Method (PRSM) is proposed to identify repetitive high ORD jobs, which is based on non-parametric statistical theory. As a case study, the method is applied to ORD data of maintenance and repair jobs at Kori units 3 and 4 that are pressurized water reactors with 950 MWe capacity and have been operated since 1986 and 1987, respectively in Korea. The results was verified and validated, and PRSM has been demonstrated to be an efficient method of analyzing the data.

  • 528 Korean land races of barley were examined for IS agronomic traits to determine if any preferential trait associations with early heading and winter hardiness existed in this collection. Eight traits were non-randomly associated with the 1977~'78 cold damage levels, and seven traits were non-randomly associated with heading date. No early heading, least-cold-damaged land race lines were found. However the least-cold-damaged class preferentially associated with mid-early heading land race lines. Ten traits were preferentially associated with the mid-early heading, least-cold-damaged class. The utilization of these associations should increase the probability that genes for winter hardiness will be preserved in the mid-early heading selections from this collection.
