First, discussions considered to be close to the topic of this discussion were arranged and summarized. Seoul and London were selected, and both sides of subway train doors in two cities selected, their states pictured and the images analyzed. As a result of comparison, in case of Seoul subway, the boundary between public information and commercial information(outdoor advertising) was very vague, so the borrowed city phenomenon was very generally analyzed. • Out-of-home (Out-of-Home) advertising can be an effective means of delivering messages for preventing drowsy driving, given that it is exposed at locations and times where vehicle traffic occurs. This study investigated the influence of message framing of drowsy driving prevention OOH advertising and regulatory focus on the intention to drowsy driving prevention behaviors by an experimental study targeting 200 university students. The results showed an interaction effect between message framing and regulatory focus on the intention to drowsy driving prevention behaviors. While no significant differences were observed in the intention to drowsy driving prevention behaviors based on regulatory focus for positively framed messages, for negatively framed messages, a higher intention was observed when the prevention focus group rather than promotion focus group. This study focuses on two key areas: how messages are crafted (message framing) and the characteristics of the people who receive them (regulatory focus). By exploring these aspects, it provides valuable theoretical and practical knowledge. Essentially, it opens doors for creating message strategies that are finely tailored to suit the preferences of the audience. This advancement is vital for researchers and practitioners as it enhances the effectiveness of communication efforts.

  • This research analyzes users' cognitive responses to Out-Of-Home advertising content based in virtual environments. Specifically, it distinguishes the depth of advertisements as 2D or 3D and categorizes animation effects of light as a representation of virtuality into 'none', 'blinking', and 'flowing'. For this purpose, virtual reality content was developed, and after experiencing the content while wearing HMD, users' cognitive responses were investigated. Involving 60 participants, the study found that the interaction effects between depth perception and animation effects were not statistically significant, nor was the primary effect of depth perception. However, the main effect of animation showed statistically significant differences in users' attention, vividness, perceived intrusiveness, avoidance tendency, and flow. This study presents design elements that can be utilized in the production of virtual environment-based Out-Of-Home advertising and experimentally demonstrates that animation effects can serve as an effective means of emphasis in virtual environment advertising. These findings provide important insights for the creation and strategic planning of advertisements in virtual environments.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of combining DOOH advertising, which has fully met the functional requirements of a standalone digital medium, with transmedia storytelling as a expansion of a new advertising area. This researcher examined the concept of transmedia storytelling used in various fields and its application cases in dramas, movies, and webtoons, and analyzed examples of transmedia storytelling approaches in the field of advertising. As a result of the analysis, it was analyzed that although OOH advertising has brought many changes in the way of content implementation with the advent of digital signage, DOOH advertising needs to be approached in a more diverse way in a situation where the boundaries that were considered to be the unique domain of each content are blurring. In particular, it has been analyzed that it can not only fulfill its role as an independent medium but also expand the scope of DOOH advertising by combining it with transmedia storytelling enthusiasts. These results suggest the need to incorporate DOOH advertising with transmedia storytelling strategies.

  • K-Pop Square Media, located at COEX in Samseong-dong, has gained public attention and mass media focus by showcasing various three-dimensional videos on a large LED display. The video content on the distinctive large curved LED display utilizes a form of media façade technique, establishing itself as a new landmark and attraction within the spatial characteristics of the COEX Plaza. This study aims to examine the characteristics of media facades used in outdoor advertising in urban spaces, focusing on K-Pop Square Media. The approach for this research involves three aspects: Firstly, examining the 'spatial characteristics' of urban public spaces by referencing Kevin Lynch's five elements constituting urban space and William J. Mitchell's exploration of smart spaces and changes in spatial paradigms. Secondly, analyzing the 'digital nature' of outdoor advertising through an examination of three types of Digital Out-Of-Home (DOOH) Media. Thirdly, exploring the 'technological advancements and content composition of media facades' by investigating types of display media (projection, LED screens), the inception of media facades, and the latest display technology like Anamorphic displays. Through this research, it becomes evident that K-Pop Square Media exhibits characteristics of publicness, communicativeness, artistry, and placemaking through the spatial characteristics of smart spaces, the media-specific aspects of Digital Out-Of-Home advertising, and the content composition of media facades.

  • This study analyzed the creative properties of public service advertisements and public content in outdoor advertising. The results of a case analysis focusing on outdoor advertisements for fundraising are as follows. First, government ministries were mainly found as advertisers. Second, most of the advertising messages were about policy promotion by the government and public institutions, with few public content or public interest messages. Third, in terms of expression, text took up more weight than visual elements, and illustrations were the main visual expression element. This proves that the public content of domestic outdoor advertisements mainly has a strong purpose of conveying direct information.

By integrating cutting-edge information technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, digital signage continues to break apart from traditional outdoor advertising media. This study identified the problems facing the domestic digital signage industry by exploring and analyzing major issues related to digital signage and derived future development measures. Specifically, online documents were collected based on the digital signage-related keywords created over the past 12 years to conduct big data network analysis, and key topics were derived through visualization of the results. This study has great policy implications in that it excluded biased interpretations based on the viewpoints of companies or the government and, more objectively, suggested the direction of the digital signage industry's development in the domestic media market.
