An Efficient Routing Algorithm Based on the Largest Common Neighbor and Direction Information for DTMNs (DTMNs를 위한 방향성 정보와 최대 공동 이웃 노드에 기반한 효율적인 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • DTNs (Delay Tolerant Networks) refer to the networks that can support data transmission in the extreme networking situations such as continuous delay and no connectivity between ends. DTMNs (Delay Tolerant Networks) are a specific range of DTNs, and its chief considerations in the process of message delivery in the routing protocol are the transmission delay, improvement of reliability, and reduction of network loading. This article proposes a new LCN (Largest Common Neighbor) routing algorism to improve Spray and Wait routing protocol that prevents the generation of unnecessary packets in a network by letting mobile nodes limit the number of copies of their messages to all nodes to L. Since higher L is distributed to nodes with directivity to the destination node and the maximum number of common neighbor nodes among the mobile nodes based on the directivity information of each node and the maximum number of common neighbor nodes, more efficient node transmission can be realized. In order to verify this proposed algorism, DTN simulator was designed by using ONE simulator. According to the result of this simulation, the suggested algorism can reduce average delay and unnecessary message generation.

An Efficient AMI Simulator Design adapted in Smart Grid (스마트그리드에서의 효율적인 AMI 구현을 위한 통합 시뮬레이터 설계)

  • The Smart Grid, which can monitor or diagnose the power grid in real time to operate efficiently, has been pushed ahead systematically as one of alternatives to solve these issues by combining the advanced Information Communication Technology and the electrical network. Hence, the electric company which introduces smart grid technology can read remotely the electrical meter readings by means of two-way communication between the meter and the central system. This enabled the customer and the utility to take part in reasonable electrical energy utilization. AMI became one of the core foundations in realizing the Smart Grid. It is hard to test the entire process of AMI system before the full deployment because it covers the broad objects from the customer to the utility operation system and requires mass data handling and management. Therefore, we design an efficient AMI network model and a simulator for performance evaluation required to simulate the network model similar to the real environment. This tool supports to evaluate the efficiency of the AMI network equipments and deployment. Additionally, it estimates the appropriate number of deployments and the proper capabilities.

A Running Stability Test of 1/5 Scaled Bogie using Small-Scaled Derailment Simulator (소형탈선시뮬레이터를 이용한 1/5 축소대차의 주행안정성 시험)

  • The dynamic stability of railway vehicle has been one of the important issues in railway safety. The dynamic simulator has been used in the study about the dynamic stability of railway vehicle and wheel/rail interface optimization. Especially, a small scale simulator has been widely used in the fundamental study in the laboratory instead of full scale roller rig which is not cost effective and inconvenient to achieve diverse design parameters. But the technique for the design of the small scale simulator about the dynamic characteristics of the wheel-rail system and the bogie system has not been well developed in Korea. Therefore, the research using the small-scaled derailment simulator and the 1/5 scaled bogie has been conducted. In this paper, we did running stability test of 1/5 scaled bogie using small-scaled derailment simulator. Also, for the operation of the small scaled simulator, it is required to investigate the performance and characteristics of the simulator system. This could be achieved by a comparative study between an analysis and an experiment. This paper presented the analytical model which could be used for verifying the test results and understanding of the physical behavior of the dynamic system comprising the small- scaled derailment simulator and the 1/5 scaled bogie.

  • The wideband DS-CDMA (W-CDMA) system is one of the candidates for the next generation mobile communication system known as IMT-2000. The important concept of W-CDMA is the introduction of intercell asynchronous operation. In this paper, we design and analyze the system level simulator for the International Mobile Tele communication - 2000 (IMT-2000) 3-rd generation partnership project (3GPP) system. We confirm how the simulator works by BER over different Eb/NO. This study will be expected to use as reference data in the development of asynchronous IMT-2000. In this paper, we analyze a physical layer of W-CDMA system and design a transmitter and receiver by using ADS (Advanced Design System). Also, we simulated a link level performance in Rayleigh fading channel environment. This study will be useful in the analysis and design of W-CDMA system.

  • A blood flow simulator is one of the experimental devices used to better understand the cardiovascular system. Time-Domain analysis is not sufficient to understand the cardiovascular system because of the effects related to pulsating flows. Even when the mean pressure and mean flow rate of the blood flow simulators are satisfied, the dynamic properties can differ from the desired performance. In this paper, the Windkessel model, a well-known mathematical model of the cardiovascular system, was employed to obtain optimized pressure using initial values. The Windkessel parameters, including flow resistance, R, are expected to lead to a better understanding of the dynamic behavior of cardiovascular systems.

  • We released new triple redundant digital excitation system with real time generator-turbine simulator. One of its great merits is the real time generator-turbine simulator when it was compared with the other products. If excitation system is tripped by unexpected faults, Maintenance man can do easily performance test of digital excitation control board, sequence relay and thyristor switching device of phase controlled rectifier without manufacturer's support. For the verification of this system, It was tested with an actual excitation system implemented on 5kVA M-G Set. After finishing the tests, the trial product will be installed and operated at a 500MW thermal power plant.

An Improved Method of Guaranteeing Frame Rates of Avionics Simulator based on HMD Motion

  • In this paper, we propose an improved algorithm for rendering method to guarantee frame rates based on HMD (Head Mounted Display) motion in an avionics simulator. One of important issues in HMD simulators is to guarantee frame rates despite fast motion of HMD which is more rapid than the aircraft's moving speed to maintain a quality of images. Therefore, we propose an algorithm considering the moving speed of a pilot's head: Improved Speed-Based LOD (Level-Of-Detail) Control (ISBLC). In the proposed algorithm, frame rates are improved by changing dynamic LOD which determines details of objects for rendering images. Throughout the experiments, we show the average frame rates are achieved up to 60 and minimum frame rates are guaranteed up to 40. The proposed algorithms will be used HMD simulation in avionics simulators.

  • Vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which makes a human being feel as if the one drives a vehicle actually. Unlike actual vehicle, the simulator has limited kinematic workspace and bounded dynamic characteristics. So it is difficult to simulate dynamic motions of a multi-body vehicle model fully.   • Test in the development of vehicle consist of driving test and simulation test. The last one has many advantages. It can reduce time and cost during development, can overcome the spacial and environmental limitation, and can provides repeatabilities of similar experiments and various data. In these reason, the simulation test is used more for analysis and development of new vehicle. In this research the result of kinematic analysis on multi-axis simulator is compared with the simulated result using dynamic analysis program, ADAMS, and the maximum stress and strain are analyzed for the safety of link and specifications of optimal design using finite element method.

  • The advancement in semiconductor technology is leading toward smaller critical dimension designs and larger wafer manufactures. Due to such phenomena, semiconductor industry is in need of an accurate control of the process. Photolithography is one of the key processes where the pattern of each layer is formed. In this process, precise superposition of the current layer to the previous layer is critical. Therefore overlay parameters of the semiconductor photolithography process is targeted for this research. The complex relationship among the input parameters and the output metrologies is difficult to understand and harder yet to model. Because of the superiority in modeling multi-nonlinear relationships, neural networks is used for the simulator modeling. For training the neural networks, conjugate gradient method is employed. An experiment is performed to evaluate the performance among the proposed neural network simulator, stepwise regression model, and the currently practiced prediction model from the test site.
