Observing that for any P'-space X, ${\Lambda}vX$ is a P'-space if vX is a weakly Lindel$\ddot{o}$f space, (${\Lambda}vX{\times}{\Lambda}Y$, ${\Lambda}_X{\times}{\Lambda}_Y$) is the minimal basically disconnected cover of $X{\times}Y$ for a countably locally weakly Lindel$\ddot{o}$f space Y.

Let M = (R, +, $\cdot$, <, ... ) be an o-minimal expansion of the standard structure R = (R, +, $\cdot$, >) of the field of real numbers. We prove that if 2 $\le$ r < $\infty$, then every n-dimensional definable $C^r$ manifold is definably $C^r$ imbeddable into $R^{2n+l}$. Moreover we prove that if 1 < s < r < $\infty$, then every definable $C^s$ manifold admits a unique definable $C^r$ manifold structure up to definable $C^r$ diffeomorphism.

The tetracycline-controlled transactivator (tTA)-mediated gene activation system was examined in virus infected cells to determine its role in the control of gene expression. In the presence of tTA, the gene expression from the tetO-modified minimal promoter was efficiently activated in the uninfected cells, whereas essentially no activation was observed from the only minimal promoter without the seven direct repeats of 42 bp tetO sequences. However, essentially no activation was observed when only the minimal promoter was used, without the seven direct repetitions of the 42 bp tetO sequences. On the other hand, in the infected cells, a substantial background of $\beta$-glucuronidase expression was detected in the absence of tTA, even though tTA stimulated the gene expression by ~7-fold. This background expression indicates that the sequences within or nearby tetO are involved in the background stimulation of the gene expression by HCMV and HSV-1 . These results suggest that the application of the tTA-mediated gene activation system may not be extremely useful for studying the biological roles of HCMV and HSV genes In the viral replicative cycles, because of the basal activity of the gene expression.

Sprachverstehen ist ein interaktiver kognitiver Prozess. Der Verlauf des Sprachverstehens ist durch die kontinuierliche Interaktion von Bottom-up- und Top­down-Prozessen gekennzeichnet. Die eingehende Information wird durch die interaktive Nutzung verschiedener sprachlicher und aussersprachlicher Wissenssysteme verarbeitet. Herangewgen wird z. B. syntaktisches Wissen, lexikalisches und semantisches Wissen, Weltwissen und pragmatisches Wissen. Das hier vorgestellte Modell stellt den Begriff des lexikalischen Kopfes als $f\"{u}r$ die Verarbeitung von $S\"{a}tzen$ zentrales Konzept heraus. $Ambiguit\"{a}ten$ werden unter $Ber\"{u}cksichtigung$ der in ihnen $repr\"{a}sentierten\;Information\;aufzul\"{o}sen$ versucht Im Unterschied zu Prinzipien wie 'minimal attachment' rekurriert 'head attachment' nicht auf eine dem Satz zugrundeliegende Struktur, sondem allein auf lexikalische Information von $K\"{o}pfen$ und deren Reihenfolge an der $Oberfl\"{a}che$ eines Satzes. Head attachment ist daher $unabh\"{a}ngig$ von Annahmen $\"{u}ber$ syntaktische Strukturen. $W\"{a}hrend$ der 'tiefere Sinn' von Prinzipien wie 'minimal attachment' darin liegen soll, eine $m\"{o}glichst$ geringe Arbeitsspeicherbelastung durch Aufbau $m\"{o}glichst$ wenig komplexer Strukturen zu $gew\"{a}hrleisten$, erreicht 'head attachment' eine Entlastung durch die $Erm\"{o}glichung\;einer\;fr\"{u}hen$ semantischen Integration, da es Anbindungen in Abh\"{a}ngigkeit$ von dem Vorhandensein von $K\"{o}pfen\;vorschl\"{a}gt$. Es ist dieser Aspekt $\"{o}konomischer$ Verarbeitung, durch Verarbeitungs­heuristiken zu einer $m\"{o}glichst\;fr\"{u}hzeitigen$ Interpretation zu gelangen, der im hier vorgestellten Modell im Vordergrund steht, und zwar im Sinne einer semantikorientierten Syntaxverarbeitung.

We examine a k-configuration X in P$^2$ or P$^3$ whose minimal free resolution has a non-cancelable Betti number in the last free module. We also find partial answers to the question: which Artinian O-sequences are level or not?

We introduce several algorithms for adding up Artinian O-sequences to obtain the maximal possible Betti numbers among all minimal free resolutions with the given Hilbert function. Moreover, we give open questions based on the outputs using those algorithms.

Frank O. Gehry is known to be an architect whose work ranges over different realms, especially between fine arts and architecture. He himself mentioned about this interdisciplinary aspect of his own work: he was inspired by, worked together with, and sometimes directly influenced by contemporary artists. Among the artists, the most influential ones are the sculptors, especially Richard Serra of Post-Minimalism and Claes Oldenburg of Pop Art. Based on this historically known fact, although very brief, this study explores how the features of Post-Minimal sculpture were transferred into Gerhy's architecture, and how Gehry has developed them into his own language. In Post-Minimal sculpture, the main concept 'Anti-Form' was realized by emphasis on materiality, process and intuitiveness of work of in. Those features appeared vividly in Gehry's works especially in his second stage of his life, but seemed to have disappeared in the third stage. However, in the fourth stage, Gehry went beyond the influence of Post-Minimalism, and he created very unique formal language dialectically formed between Post-Minimal sculptural language and his architectural language.

In this paper, we show that if the minimal basically disconnected cover ${\wedge}X_\imath\;of\;X_\imath$ is given by the space of fixed a $Z(X)^#$-ultrafilters on $X_\imath\;(\imath=1,2)\;and\;{\wedge}X_1\;{\times}\;{\wedge}X_2$ is a basically disconnected space, then ${\wedge}X_1\;{\times}\;{\wedge}X_2$ is the minimal basically disconnected cover of $X_1\;{\times}\;X_2$. Moreover, observing that the product space of a P-space and a countably locally weakly Lindelof basically disconnected space is basically disconnected, we show that if X is a weakly Lindelof almost P-space and Y is a countably locally weakly Lindelof space, then (${\wedge}X\;{\times}\;{\wedge}Y,\;{\wedge}_X\;{\times}\;{\wedge}_Y$) is the minimal basically disconnected cover of $X\;{\times}\;Y$.
